Remember last year when Danity Kane announced they were reuniting? All five fans rejoiced when the now trio released their hit single Lemonade featuring Tyga. Shortly after the release of Lemonade , Danity Kane had some inner group squabbles which resulted in a fight between Dawn Richard and Aubrey O'Day in a recording studio. Danity Kane later released their DK3 (I think that's the name of it) album to little fanfare. If that wasn't enough original member Aundrea previously reunited with the group but for some reason dropped out. I'm not really sure why but I remember people saying she couldn't keep up with the footwork on tour and she was probably tired of all the arguing going on within the group again. And just two months ago Jodeci reunited after 20 said years to perform a bevy of their hits on the Soul Train Awar ds. KINGS OF R&B: Joe, Ginuwine, Jagged Edge and Total will embark on the Kings of R&B tour in Europe in January. Why their not touring in the US I'm not sure. I'm guessing the money overseas is a lot longer than it is here in the States. I mean given also that none of the aforementioned acts are that popular in the State right now why not go overseas where music is much more appreciated.  MOMMY TO BE: And Nicki Minaj says she wants to be a Mother by the time her fifth album is released or shortly thereafter. Nicki is currently set to release her third album The Pink Print on December 15. When asked on the AMA( American Music Awards ) red carpet, Nicki said her fans will be surprised by the lyrical content on the new album. Could she be referring to the lyrics on her new single Bed of Lies ? One can only imagine. I can't say I'm here for the new Nicki album. I will have to hear the samples on iTunes. Nicki's album is not one I'm anticipating.

I came across this video and I decided to make it a Throwback Video for today. "I Can't" was the second single from Foxy Brown's second album; "Chyna Doll" which was released in early 1999. I can't say I know what's going on with Foxy Brown these days. She's been pretty quiet lately which is good and bad. It's good that she is not getting in any type of trouble and its bad because I and a lot of others have been waiting on new music for some years. Foxy is pretty reclusive these days. She does manage to make an appearance every once in awhile at an event or outside just minding her business. "Trippin' was the first single from Total's second album aptly titled; "Kima Keisha & Pam". The song was produced by Missy Elliott who had a hand in producing nearly every or all of the tracks on their second album. Unfortunately this would be the last Total album and I never knew what happened to them. No! They weren't the best singers but they had a lot of good songs. Their first album which is self titled is really good.

Total was the first girl group signed to Bad Boy. They were deemed the Bad Girls Of R&B and of Bad Boy. It was a title they wore pretty well. They were explicit in their songs. They had a tomboy esque look. They donned sunglasses and dark clothing. Their songs were very erotic and funky. Total's self-titled debut album was released in 1996. The lead single, "Can't You See" featuring The Notorious B.I.G. could also be heard on the "New Jersey Drive" soundtrack. The album's next single, "No One Else" featured Da Brat and the remix(which was included on the album) featured Lil' Kim and Foxy Brown. "Kissing You" was chosen as the album's third single followed by "Do You Think About Us" which was produced by Raphael Saadiq. It is one of my favorite songs on the album. Some of my other favorite tracks include "Tell Me", "Someone Like You", "Spend Some Time", "When Boy Meets Girl"...

"You might win some but you just lost one" were the lyrics recited by the now reclusive Lauryn Hill. It was from her song "Lost Ones" from her "The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill". It was her highly acclaimed album that I wasn't that fond of. The title "Lost Ones" is significant here because several artists Missy Elliott has discovered over the years have faded into obscurity. We all know Missy Elliott as the superproducer who never quite get the credit she deserves. Well today she will get some credit for her outstanding list of "Lost Ones". Remember that the information here provided is to the best of my knowledge. Gina Thompson - Missy's first major appearance was on the remix to Gina Thompson's "Things That You Do" remix.
