Deaf Jam I apologize for the lack of updates. Hell, I didn't realize it had been so many days since my last update. I will call this post the "Female Rap Edition" because honestly this is the most female rappers have been talked about in quite some time. So Foxy Brown has inserted herself into the feud between Remy Ma and Nicki Minaj. But this goes back to what I was saying in the "shEther" song when Remy said "deaf bitch" she was talking about Foxy. The line was one that went over many people's head. But I knew Remy was talking about Foxy all along and apparently so did she. Not one to bite her tongue, Foxy came blazing with "Break's Over" a dis to Remy. The dis track sample's Jay Z's "Takeover" which was Jay Z's response to Nas' "Ether" track. Flashback Friday pic. Wendy Williams is under fire for throwing shade at "RHOA" star Kenya Moore. Moore, who is in a battle with co-star, Shereé Whitfield over whose new house would be completed first, finds the two stars nearly comes to blows during the season 9 trailer. In the trailer, Kenya is seen saying that Shereé's mother, Thelma has her name on the house so therefore its not really Shereé's. Wendy offered her insight as she usually does making light of the fact that Kenya's own mother wouldn't even open the door for her. Kenya shared on the past season that her mother has been estranged since she was a child and won't acknowledge her. Wendy has caught a lot of flack for her comments the same way she did when she criticized the black colleges. Trina has new video Trina keeps busy even when she's not touring the world. The rapper just released a visual to her newest single, "Overnight". The song features Trina rapping about the ups and downs she's experienced as a rapper and in her personal life. Trina has been working on her sixth album, rumored to be titled, "6" and last I heard, it was supposed to be released this Summer. Summer won't be here too much longer so I'm hoping we'll get an album by years end. Friend, K. Michelle recently tweeted that she just recorded a song for Trina's new album. He did say he called her to confirm the news and she said "yes I'm pregnant". So all the stories featured today have to do with tours, funny enough. Mariah is difficult to work with!? No surprise there. Madonna is showing out on her tour as well and 50 Cent had a special guest at his recent tour. So word on the street is that Mariah Carey is becoming increasingly difficult to work with. Mariah is currently shooting a docu series for E! which will document the singer as she prepares for her tour. Mariah wants to have control of how everything is edited, which as far as I know is pretty hard to do when it comes to "reality" shows. The production company behind the show is also responsible for "Keeping Up With Kardashians". Mariah is currently overseas on her "Sweet Sweet Fantasy" tour. Hmm will this be yet another TIDAL exclusive? I guess we shall see. Nicki previously collaborated with Jay Z on Kanye Wests' song "Monster". And yesterday I reported that Ciara and her new man Russell Wilson had broken up and I only said that because I heard it on "Wendy" but turns out even Ms. Wendy is wrong. Ciara reminded everyone via social media that she was very much still with her new man when she posted a picture. So there you go on that! Chris Brown is in the news again, as if that's an actual surprise. The singer was heavily scrutinized by Wendy Williams and Perez Hilton(on the Wendy show today) I presume. Anyway the singer took to his Twitter and aired out both TV personalities, calling Wendy a "wicked witch" and Perez "Princess". Ouch! Poor Chris he can never catch a break. His new album X has been pushed back to December 3. What's with all the pushbacks? I don't understand because all the songs he's released thus far with the exception of the Aaliyah collab were hits.

Blu Cantrell burst onto the scene in 2001 with her debut, "So Blu". The critically acclaimed album spawned the hit single, "Hit 'Em Up Style(Oops)". A year later Blu was set to release her sophomore album, "Bittersweet". Lead single, "Breathe" didn't exactly take off in the states. Fortunately her label at the time, Arista Records revamped the single and added Sean Paul to it. Unfortunately Sean Paul couldn't save the Dr. Dre-sampled song. Fortunately though for Cantrell, she found success with the single overseas. Subsequent singles including the fiery "Make Me Wanna Scream" were received well. The album, "Bittersweet" also did well. The US wasn't as receptive to Blu's melancholy, overwrought, and sometimes trashy appeal. Despite people's perception of Blu many will agree she is an excellent singer.
