New York's annual Summer Jam went down last night and it was a night to remember for several reasons. Remy Ma was one of the featured performers and for her set she brought out some legendary women in Hip Hop including MC Lyte, Rah Digga, Lady of Rage(song: "Afro Puffs"), Monie Love(song: "It's A Shame"), Queen Latifah, Lil' Kim, and newbies Cardi B("Love & Hip Hop New York), and Young M.A.(song: "Ooo"). Lil' Kim joined Remy Ma on stage to perform her verse from Mobb Deep's "Quiet Storm Remix" and Queen Latifah came out to perform "U N I T Y". Once the love fest between the women were over. It was back to business as usual for Remy Ma who performed her "SHether" dis record. Faith Evans and Lil' Kim took in the tribute for Biggie and Bad Boy alums, Total and 112 performed as well. Drake has a new love interest. There have been pictures floating around of J-Lo and Drake all cozy and now reports are confirming that the two are dating. They've also been reported to be working on music namely for J-Lo's Epic debut album. Of course everyone is up in arms about this relationship but I'm not surprised by it one single bit. What do you think about J-Lo and Drake dating?  Queen Latifah was the victim of car theft when her Mercedes Benz was stolen while she was at a gas station. The whole incident is bizarre to me. Her car was later found with three guys standing around it, however they didn't have anything to do with the crime. You can see Queen Latifah starring in the new FOX TV show, "Star" premiering next month.  Young Thug has been sued for $18,000 dollars for not paying his chauffeur bill. That's all I know about that but it is funny how Young Thug has been in all this trouble lately. Maybe its karma.

I want to first start by saying prayers go out to the families, friends, and loved ones who lost someone due to the Orlando club shooting. It is a very sad and unfortunate event. Now on to some music news, Lil' Wayne suffered a seizure during a flight and had to have an emergency landing. Lil' Wayne tweeted from his Twitter account informing fans "thanks for the prayers". VH1 has revealed that they will honor Queen Latifah and Missy Elliott for this year's "Hip Hop Honors". The telecast this year will honor women in Hip Hop. No offense to Queen Latifah and Missy Elliott but they already have numerous accolades and awards. I'm not sitting here saying they are not deserving of this honor either. I just feel like female rappers like Da Brat, Lil' Kim, Foxy Brown, and Trina deserve to be honored as well. I'm interested in seeing who else they decide to honor. Queen Latiah, Viola Davis, Idris Elba, and Uzo from "Orange Is The New Black" were winners last night at the SAG Awards. SAG stands for Screen Actors Guild. Elba won two awards last night while Latifah won for her portrayal of Bessie Smith in the HBO movie, "Bessie". Congratulations to all the winners! Take that Oscars! :) Elsewhere Meek Mill is still on social media poking fun at Drake. It seems like when we thought this beef was dead Meek keeps it going. With his recently released EP and series of old pictures of Drake, look for Drake to respond again. Drake just yesterday released the song "Summer Sixteen" or at least I think that's the name of it. TALK SHOW SHIT: Queen Latifah learned today that her talk show has been cancelled after only two seasons on the air. The show was a snoozefest. Yes she had high profile guests but the magic just wasn't there and like someone else was saying online, Queen just didn't seem like Queen if you get what I'm saying. Hell I think her talk show from back in the day was better than this. Of course this isn't the end for Queen she's always had a career in music and even movies. DANGEROUS: Jennifer Hudson aka JHUD , also the title of her new album just dropped a new single titled Dangerous . It is the newest single from her 10 track album due September 23 on RCA Records. Will you be buying or downloading? NOT FIT FOR A QUEEN:Queen Latifah's show may be in danger of being cancelled after less than stellar ratings. It's funny because that's what happened to the first. Despite having A-list talent and being shuffled between a variety of shows, the show has not found its footing. Queen definitely has the potential to carry her own show but something about it is off and I always felt that way the few times I did watch it. I think even with the A-list stars the show was a bore. There was no umph. 

Any news is good news.  Forgive me as I've been a little late on my updates, like two or three days after the other blogs may of reported the very same stories. Anyway...BET is possibly looking to add  and fuck up another cancelled show to their network, VH1's recently cancelled Single Ladies . The show which stars LisaRaye McCoy and most recently LeToya Luckett. The show recently finished its third season which was pretty high in ratings but for whatever reason VH1 decided to move in another direction. The show is executive produced by Queen Latifah. Interestingly enough BET is now airing The Queen Latifah Show so this rumor just may be a go. Let's just hope BET does this show some justice because they have totally transformed The Game into a boring drama. Hip-Hop star/actress Queen Latifah will team with Mary J. Blige's FFAWN organization to co-host the Second Annual Mary J. Blige Honors Concert. Mary J. and Queen Latifah will be joined by Elle magazine's Editor-in-Chief Robbie Meyers as hosts of concert, which will be held in honor of the 2011 FFAWN scholarship recipients. Legendary musician Patrice Rushen will conduct performances by a star-studded cast that includes Christina Aguilera, Anita Baker, Jennifer Hudson, Jill Scott and Corinne Bailey Rae. In 2010, Mary J.'s non-profit, which stands for the Foundation for the Advancement of Women Now, has helped send 25 young women to college with full, four-year scholarships. To date, all 25 young women remain enrolled and have maintained the minimum requirement of a 3.0 GPA. Eight of the young women made the dean's list in their first semester according to reps for FFAWN, which found founded by Mary J. Blige and industry exec/mogul Steve Stoute. Yes; you read it right! Faith Evans is returning to the music this June with her new single; "I Got Faith In You, You Got Faith In Me". I actually like the song title and is eager to hear it. This will be Faith's first album in five years. Make sure you be on the look out for that as well as an upcoming mixtape. Queen Latifah not only is starring in the new movie; "Just Wright" in theaters now but she will also host this year's BET Awards telecast which will air Sunday, June 27, 2010. Make sure you all check out her new movie and the award show. The-Dream has a new album coming out soon and I have read that he has covered Aaliyah's "One In A Million" song and I'm not sure what the reaction has been so far. In My Own Words: Happy New Year everyone! I forgot to mention it in my very first post of the new year(which you can see below).
