So I was on my way to work this morning listening to the Rickey Smiley morning show where RHOA(Real Housewives of Atlanta) star Claudia is a host. I caught the middle of a conversation where Claudia was talking and speaking about issuing an apology and Rickey Smiley was co-signing. I had no idea who she was talking about because I got out the car to go to the gas station. It wasn't until much later in the day that I realized that Claudia was speaking about Tiny, T.I.'s wife. Apparently Claudia made some not so nice comments about Tiny when she worked on The Foxxhole, a radio show with Jamie Foxx. Claudia described Tiny's looks as a "pig" among other things. Oddly enough Claudia was one of the hosts on Tiny's show Tiny Tonight. But since people have been uncovering old videos of Claudia shading folks, its safe to say it hasn't been the best week for the newest housewife. It looks like Ms. Christina Milian just can't catch a break. Ever since she started dating Lil' Wayne, she's been called everything from a gold digger to a ratchet hussy. Now one of Lil' Wayne's other baby mother's, Nivea has decided to kick up some dust towards Ms. Milian. Why? I guess because when you think about it Christina is following in Nivea's footsteps. She was married to The-Dream and has a child with him like Nivea does. Now she is dating Lil' Wayne like Nivea did and is rumored to be pregnant. I'm not sure how true the pregnancy rumors but I won't be surprised if Lil' Wayne knocks her up pretty soon. As we know Lil' Wayne is pretty fertile and loves spreading his seed all throughout Atlanta and beyond. Christina Milian has been signed to Cash Money/Young Money for a minute and has yet to issue an album let alone a mixtape. Okay was the first single from Nivea's second album Complicated which was primarily produced by then husband The-Dream who was a budding producer at the time.  Nivea's been pretty quiet on the music scene lately sans a few covers of some songs including Sade's The Sweetest Taboo . Over the years Nivea has became known as the baby mama of both The-Dream and Lil' Wayne.  With both producers having money that's pretty long no wonder why Nivea has been so hell bent on a music career. 

"Laundromat" is one of the few hits Nivea managed to score while she was signed to Jive Records. The song was written and produced by R. Kelly who doesn't appear in the video. At the time of the release; R. Kelly was going through his child pornography ordeal. We all remember that right? In his place is Nick Cannon as the philandering lover but without the singing parts. Nick Cannon; at the time was Nivea and R. Kelly's labelmate so I'm sure it was easier on their part to feature him in the video. As its been mentioned before Ne-Yo is working on a new album which he plans as a star studded one and next on his collaborative list is Mrs. Carter herself; Beyonce. The two collaborated on "Irreplaceable" before but this time Ne-Yo wants to lock her in for a duet. Nivea has shot down the rumors that she was arrested for DUI after attending the wedding of Lil' Wayne's ex-wife; Toya; who has her own reality show appearing on BET. Ex-husband; The-Dream has even come forward and denied the rumors that suggested Nivea hit a tree while her youngest child was in the car. I think this is the most we've talked about Nivea since she had that video out with Lil' Wayne called; "Love Hurts". I remember she was supposed to release an album but I'm not sure what happened with that. Clearly Nivea doesn't have to work with all the child support she gets from both Lil' Wayne and The-Dream. | Nivea released her second album on the Jive label, "Complicated" in 2005. The album's first and only single, "Okay" was a hit and produced by Lil' Jon. A then unknown The-Dream produced the majority of Nivea's album alongside herself. At one point The-Dream and Nivea were married which at this point is common knowledge. The album has a lot of good songs that could of been potential singles had Jive not dropped the ball. The second single was supposed to be "Parking Lot" produced by Jermaine Dupri but it never came to friction. There is also the excellent title track produced and written by The-Dream and Nivea. R. Kelly shows up and produces the track, "Gangsta Girl" which is typical R. Kelly; and that's not necessarily a bad thing. Supposedly Nivea shot this video back in July and I think I remember seeing the pictures back then. Nivea takes on one of Sade's classics and before this I don't think I know of anyone really covering Sade's song.

Nivea teased us with the Lil' Wayne assisted video, "Love Hurts" earlier this year. Now the singer is prepping a new video to her latest song, "Stronger Than Pride", a remake of the Sade classic. The song will appear on Nivea's upcoming mixtape, "Nivea Undercover" which will be released later this month. Nivea's new album; "Purple Hurt" is said to be released later this year. According to UBG Ciara's new album, "Basic Instinct" will have a new release date. I'm not sure if their pushing it back or pushing it up. The first single; "Ride" is doing really well as its currently #5 R&B/#45 Pop right now. At the same time though a lot of labels like to release two singles or so before the actual album is released. Nivea burst on to the scene in 2001 with the single; "Don't Mess With The Radio". The single failed at radio which halted the release of this album. Instead the album was released in 2002 with the hit single; "Don't Mess With My Man" featuring Jagged Edge. The song was a Top 10 Pop hit. The song would also earn Nivea a Grammy nomination for Best R&B/Hip-Hop Collaboration. For the second single; Nivea hooked up with R. Kelly on "Laundromat" which peaked at #20 R&B and #52 Pop. At the time R. Kelly and Nivea were label mates so he has a few contributions to the album including "Ya Ya Ya" which features Nivea's ex-boyfriend/baby daddy; Lil' Wayne. I mean this song didn't leak too long ago and we already have a video for it. I'm not sure if this is a viral video(a term used for a video used primarily for Internet promotion) or a video that will air on BET. What's even more surprising than seeing Nivea in a video(since we hadn't seen her do a video for awhile) is the surprise guest in the video. I never would of guessed but it also lets you know. I mean I really didn't think we'd hear a lick of music from Nivea again except for her past hits. Having children by both The-Dream and Lil' Wayne; I'm sure Nivea doesn't have to work at all if she chose not to. I am glad though that her love for music has brought her back to the game. Nivea just leaked a buzz single called, 'Love Hurts' and its from her upcoming album; 'Purple Heart'. I don't have any more info on the album nor its release date. I just say come here everyday and one day you'll have your news! In other Nivea news she did a remake of Timbaland and Drake's 'Say Somethin' along with rapper Rasheeda. There is a video floating around of it but everytime I try to get it; the video is taken off the perspective websites. Nivea has been pretty quiet on the music scene and as she states in the video she has been busy being a mother. Nivea has made some pretty good songs over the years and for a minute I didn't think she would return to the music scene. For nearly 20 years, R. Kelly has wrote and produced many hits not only for himself but a host of female artists. This is one of my favorite videos. I always liked this song and of course no one can write a ghetto love anthem quite like R. Kelly. Just ask Truth Hurts, Sparkle, Mary J. Blige and countless other female artists. This was released at the beginning of R. Kelly's child molestation charges. Luckily for Kelly and Nivea this song managed to peak at #20 on the R&B charts and #52 on the Pop charts! You will notice R Kelly isn't in the video due to his child molestation charges so former labelmate Nick Cannon stepped in as the wayward lover.
