Album Spotlight: Nivea - Nivea

Nivea burst on to the scene in 2001 with the single; "Don't Mess With The Radio". The single failed at radio which halted the release of this album. Instead the album was released in 2002 with the hit single; "Don't Mess With My Man" featuring Jagged Edge. The song was a Top 10 Pop hit. The song would also earn Nivea a Grammy nomination for Best R&B/Hip-Hop Collaboration.

For the second single; Nivea hooked up with R. Kelly on "Laundromat" which peaked at #20 R&B and #52 Pop.

At the time R. Kelly and Nivea were label mates so he has a few contributions to the album including "Ya Ya Ya" which features Nivea's ex-boyfriend/baby daddy; Lil' Wayne.

Other highlights include The Neptunes produced; "Run Away", "The One For Me", "You Don't Even Know", "25 Reasons", and "Still In Love".

I kept wondering what it was about this post, that made it so successful; one word: JANET! The fact that Janet has new music on the way makes this post even more of a hot topic.
