Today marks the birthday of the late Whitney Houston' and super fan and friend, Brandy posted a tribute to the singer on her Instagram page. Once posted, Internet trolls called out Brandy for her choice of words when she said Whitney passed her the "torch". After catching wind of the comments, Brandy shot back at several of the commentators and also called out singer, Monica for not checking "her evil ass fans". Brandy believes that much of the hate in her comments are from Monica's fans(and it likely is). Brandy feels that Monica's fans are always trolling her social media pages. Brandy also stated that she's checked her "starz"(what Brandy calls her fans) for badgering Monica in the past and she should do the same. Rihanna has caused a storm of controversy after posting several posts on her Instagram page regarding Lebron James. Rihanna, on several occasions has referred to the married James as "bae" upon congratulating him on his win in the NBA Finals last night. A few weeks ago Rihanna posted a picture of herself with the #23 on her body, which looked like it was sprayed in whipped cream. The act was seen as sexually suggestive and very inappropriate to many. So the question today on New York's "The Breakfast Club" radio show was, did Rihanna go too far in her love and admiration for Lebron James? Cissy Houston, mother of the late Whitney Houston has spoken out against the movie that Lifetime plans to produce. Cissy says many people have come forward claiming to know Whitney and they really don't. Case in point, the people making this movie don't know Whitney nor her relationship with Bobby Brown. They are just going by speculation. The Whitney Houston movie will air on Lifetime later this year I believe. P.S. if you didn't know Deborah Cox will provide the vocals for the movie. An audio of Deborah Cox covering I Will Always Love You leaked out and the response had been pretty overwhelming. I haven't heard it yet but I'm sure she did it justice.

I thought the Houston Family didn't want this movie made, well everyone but Bobbi Kris since she wants to play her Mother. YaYa Dacosta of ANTM(America's Next Top Model) will star as Whitney and the movie will chronicle her tumultuous years with ex-husband Bobby Brown. If you recall this is the move that Houston's family doesn't want made. They prefer that her story be shared on the big screen. Personally they can also do a big screen adaptation as well. The Lifetime movie is being directed by former cast mate from Waiting To Exhale, Angela Bassett. I remember watching Wendy and she was interviewing Kimberly Elise(Hit The Floor) and Wendy asked her, her thoughts on the biopic. The biopic was to be directed by Houston's former co-star Angela Bassett. Houston's family feels that Whitney's life story warrants a big screen adaptation and I agree. What do you all think? Any news is better than no news.  Interesting news. Actress Angela Bassett will direct an upcoming biopic about the late great Whitney Houston. The biopic set to air on Lifetime in 2015 will chronicle the rise and fall of Whitney Houston, her rocky relationship with Bobby Brown, and her drug use. There is no word on who will be cast as Whitney. If you all recall Whitney starred alongside Angela Bassett in Waiting To Exhale back in 1997. I think its great that Angela is directing Whitney's biopic. Speaking of biopics Aaliyah's story is finally coming to the big screen very soon. I heard that an actress had been cast as the late great Aaliyah. I believe they will do a theatrical release of Aaliyah's biopic then again it could always be a made for TV movie which has been the big thing lately with biopics.

The show currently titled 'Christina Milian' will follow the singer as she navigates being a mother and getting her music career back on track. Christina signed to Young Money/Cash Money awhile back. As we near the end of the year the next few months are jam packed with music releases. Whitney Houston's much hyped about greatest hits album I Will Always Love You - The Best Of Whitney Houston will be released on November 13.  The album features all of her greatest hits, an unreleased song Never Give Up , and I Look To You a duet with R. Kelly.  Another album to look forward to is Wiz Khalifa's much delayed O.N.I.F.C. which is due on December 4. The album features the newest single Remember You featuring The Weekend. Other guests and producers include Jim Jonsin, Pharrell Williams, 2 Chainz, Cam'ron, and more. 

“Sparkle,” the movie that marks Jordin Sparks‘ big-screen debut and Whitney Houston‘s movie swan song, is set to open August 17. A red-carpet premiere is planned for the film — Sparks tweeted that she’s getting a dress custom-designed for it — but a report suggests that Houston’s family is making things difficult in terms of scheduling. While premieres normally take place at least a week before a movie opens, Showbiz411.com claims that the film’s premiere is tentatively scheduled for the day before the movie hits theaters because of Houston’s family’s demands. Sources tell the website that the family doesn’t want the premiere to be held on any date that’s near August 9, which would have been Houston’s 49th birthday.
