STEPS DOWN: Angie Martinez has stepped down from her hosting gig on New York's Hot 97 radio station. The radio host/former rapper has been with the radio station for 25 years. She started as an intern before going on to host her own radio show and interviewing everyone from J-Lo to Jay Z. The radio host penned a letter detailing her resignation and how she plans to move on to bigger and better things in life. This is quite shocking to learn and I had no idea Angie has been with Hot 97 for 25 years. R&B DIVA: It's been revealed that R&B Divas Atlanta star Monifah Carter got married back in February. The cameras were rolling for the event which I'm guessing we will see before the current season is over. Monifah invited all the ladies to the wedding and according to reports they were all in attendance. Monifah married her longtime girlfriend Terez in Hawaii. Congrats to the couple! Monifah channels Diana Ross' movie; "Mahogany" for her sophomore "Mo'hogany". On this album Monifah expands her repertoire as a balladeer. She delivers quite a number of ballads here rather convincingly. For a time it became her stock in trade. The album is comprised mostly of ballads but there are a few uptempo tracks such as the Top 10 Pop hit; "Touch It". Monifah gets some help here from Mario Winans, Heavy D(her mentor), and Queen Latifah(who co-wrote and did some background vocals) on "Fallin' In Love". Some of my favorite songs include the aforementioned "Fallin' In Love", "Have You Ever Been Loved", "Suga Suga", and "Better Half Of Me". ---------------- Now playing: Mary J. These music feeds just pop up in my head. All of a sudden 'touch' popped in my head and a list of songs followed. Of course I could sit here and name countless songs with 'touch' in the title. That is almost what happened. Basically the first few song that popped in my head ended up on this list. Check it out! Touch, Omarion Some of my favorite songs by Omarion are the ones produced by The Neptunes and 'Touch' is no exception. The video features Omarion doing plenty of twirling and gyrating to maximum effect. Touch My Body, Ashanti This is an unreleased track from Ashanti recorded around the 'Concrete Rose' album era(2004). The track also featured a verse from Lil' Kim on some versions. I'm not sure if that was official or not. Touch My Body, Mariah Carey Perhaps one of the most well known songs here with 'Touch' in the title. This song became Mariah's 18th number one hit!
