Fat Joe and Remy Ma released their joint album, "Plata O Plomo"(Money or Bullets) on February 17. The album contains the hit single, "All The Way Up", "Cookin'" and "Money Showers". The album features a star studded list of guests including Sevyn Streeter and The-Dream(song: "Heartbreak"). The opening track, "Warning" is pure New York Hip Hop and features a tour de force verse from Remy Ma who takes shots at some unnamed adversaries(Foxy Brown). Remy really earns her stripes on this album as she out raps Fat Joe in my opinion. She is really spittin' on this album as if her life depended on it. "Spaghetti" is a standout with vocals from Kent Jones(song: "I Don't Mind"), who guests vocals on a few songs. The legendary Stephanie Mill guests on "Dreamin'". Mariah's ex in hospital Nick Cannon is in the hospital after a Lupus outbreak. The TV host and ex-husband to Mariah Carey was seen in hospital after pictures surfaced. Cannon stated that he would be spending the holidays in the hospital. There is no word yet if Mariah has taken the kids to see their father. I hope so though since they typically all spend holidays together as a family. Get well Nick! Speaking of Nick, Nicki Minaj and Meek Mill are reportedly still together and not broken up as its been indicated on social media. Frankly I'm sick of their squabbles playing out on social media. I've heard a snippet of the song and its very much in the vein of "All The Way Up" so if you like that, you'll like this. New York's yearly Summer Jam festivities happened last night not without some drama though. Apparently one of the headliners, Future wasn't about to perform on the main stage for some reason. Fat Joe and Remy Ma performed and brought out Ashanti. I didn't see much else footage from the show except for that. In other music news, Tyrese has been seen cuddling up with actress Sanaa Lathan. Sanaa had most recently been linked up with French Montana and before that Denzel Washington. In reality TV news, Joseline and Stevie J of "Love & Hip Hop" fame have been beefing on Twitter and airing out each others personal business. Joseline has accused Stevie of being gay and liking trans girls among other things. Stevie on the other hand has alleged that he and Joseline were never married and that she's a "hoe". Hey all! I'm calling this blog post the "The Beef Edition" since both stories concentrate on rumored beef and beef that has been brewing for awhile now. Yesterday Fat Joe and Remy Ma released the remix to their hit single, "All The Way Up" with a feature from Jay Z and newly recorded verses from Fat Joe and Remy Ma. Immediately after the song dropped Twitter was on fire for two reasons; the first being Jay-Z alluding to Beyoncé's "Lemonade" album but also some clever wordplay. Secondly many people felt that Remy took a few shots at Nicki on her verse. People were saying they felt like Remy was getting back at Nicki for a jab she threw years earlier. Remy even spoke about this back in the day but Remy and Nicki are pretty friendly so I'm sure its nothing more, nothing less but hey there's no such thing as bad publicity. Fat Joe finally unveils the video to his newest single Pride N Joy . The video was directed by none other than Hype Williams.

You can catch a quick 30 second preview of the new Fat Joe video for Pride & Joy . The song features Kanye West, DJ Khaled, Jadakiss, Busta Rhymes, Roscoe Dash, Miguel, and an appearance from Ashanti.  Hype Williams directed. 

Fat Joe has revealed that he is releasing a new mixtape; "The Darkside Vol. 2" and an upcoming untitled album to follow. The first single titled; "Another Round" will feature Chris Brown. The album will also feature a collaboration from producer Rico Love. A lot of rappers are featuring Chris Brown on their songs and its kind of hit and miss; depending on the song. Game's song with Chris Brown; "Pot Of Gold" hasn't done so well but I don't think its the type of song people want to hear from Game. People think featuring Chris Brown on their song is an automatic hit but it just guarantees some radio spins. I do hope Joe is successful though. He's cool in my book! I should of known it was too good to be true. Fantasia and her label mate; Ciara were going to drop their perspective albums; both on August 10. Now Fantasia's album; "Back To Me" will be released on August 24. Her single; "Bittersweet" is doing really well on the R&B charts. I believe that they are giving the song a chance to grow on other radio formats before releasing the album.
