"Same Ole Love" was the third single released from Anita Baker's 5x Platinum album, "Rapture". The song peaked at #8 R&B and #44 Pop in 1987.

Ashanti has a new man! The word is Ashanti is dating NFL player Darnell Dockett who plays for the San Francisco 49ers. Ashanti tweeted her new boo yesterday wishing him a Happy Birthday! What's crazy is that I seen this tweet but just thought it was one of her super fans she was tweeting. I had no idea! I am happy for Ashanti though! Aww baby! Speaking of happy, a lot of people, including myself is happy for the return of Janet Jackson. The reclusive star was spotted going into a dance studio in L.A. They say Janet is rehearsing for her new tour but also said recording some type of video. Of course everything is hush hush but Janet herself shared the article on her timeline, complete with pictures. There's still no word on when we can expect this new music but Janet is keeping everything under wraps. I actually admire the secrecy because it leaves a lot to the imagination. It makes you anticipate it more and we don't anticipate a lot of albums nowadays. And I'm antici...

Kylie Jenner says she's not pregnant! R&B singer Cheryl Lynn(song: "Encore") went in on Anita Baker via social media when she discovered Anita blocked her. Lynn went on to say that Baker is jealous of her singing skills and after she ranted enough offered a semi apology. What do you think about Anita blocking Cheryl? I'm sure there is more to the story but we only know one side right now. But this feud can be filed under "strange" right along with the recent feud between Chris Brown and Tyson Beckford which has since been resolved. I've read that Anita Baker can be a little coocoo so who knows what the problem really is. Speaking of feuds, fans of Nicki Minaj have signed a petition against Iggy Azalea saying her award at the Billboard awards for "Best Rap Song" should be revoked. They are upset not only because Nicki didn't win but they say they song was released outside of the eligibility time. My gosh! Just let the girl live! I'...

THREE'S COMPANY: K. Michelle is hoping to collaborate with Anita Baker and Nicki Minaj for her new album. The reality TV star gushed about collaborating with both artists. Anita Baker, herself recently paid K. Michelle a visit and gave her some much needed pep talk. Time will only tell if these collabs go down. I could definitely see the Nicki Minaj collab happening though. FIRE STARTER: Shots rang out last night at a Chris Brown Video Music Awards Pre-Party in L.A. Suge Knight was shot twice and rushed to the hospital. The Game was denied entry into the club and his team stayed around and are likely to have contributed to some of the violence if not all. Not to blame Chris Brown but it seems like trouble follows him wherever he goes. I think Chris needs to stay out of the club for awhile.

Any news is good news. Greetings everyone on this Friday afternoon! I was just reading what I consider to be a pretty funny story regarding singer Anita Baker. We all know Anita for her late 80s hits such as Sweet Love . Anyway there is a warrant out for her arrest and the singer is reportedly on the run. It turns out that Anita failed to show up for a court hearing where she is being sued. Apparently a company did some work for the singer in her home and the singer allegedly has failed to pay up in the sum of $15,000 dollars. Ouch! Let's hope Anita doesn't stay hidden away too long. We'd hate to see one of our favorite songbirds in the slammer but it has happened. Below are some other divas who have had run-ins with the law. Check it out!  Diana Ross The famed Motown singer was arrested after being stopped for DWI or DUI(can't remember which one) in Arizona after a trip to Blockbuster Video. The footage of the arrest was plastered all over the media outlets whe...

Faith Evans talks about her wishes to duet with Anita Baker among other things in this interview. Check it out!

Janelle Monae has revealed her new album The Electric Lady will be released on September 10. The album features the Erykah Badu assisted-single Q.U.E.E.N. and collaborations from R&B luminaries such as Miguel and Prince. Speaking of new albums...Mary J. Blige is back in the studio working on a new album. Originally the singer was working on a Christmas album(which I read was scrapped) in favor of a full length studio album. One duet we can all possibly look forward to is one with Rapture -singer Anita Baker. If you recall it was Anita Baker's Rapture song that got Mary her big break. I'm glad because while I wouldn't mind a Christmas album from Mary I'm actually more excited about a new album from her. Someone who was heavily influenced by both Mary and Anita is Fantasia. The singer who has released her new album a few months ago is finally set to release her new video the Kelly Rowland assisted-single Without Me . The video is set to premiere on July 1.

Hello all! Hope you are all having a splendid weekend. As you know the weekend is much slower for news but I always manage to come through for my people. It looks like three of our legendary R&B/Pop divas is making the news this week and one of those ladies is none other than Anita Baker. She ruled the late 80s and early 90s with many Quiet Storm hits. Now the singer is returning with a new album Only Forever due June 25. The album features the first single Lately. If you recall Lately is a remake of the Tyrese song released in the late 90s. If I'm not mistaken the album version is said to feature Tyrese and a duet with Snoop Dogg...I mean Lion. Another one of our legendary R&B/Pop divas is none other than Tina Turner. The singer recently covered German Vogue magazine. Now word is that the singer is ready to tie the knot with her longtime companion Erwin. The two met back in the late 80s when Erwin worked for Tina's label EMI(Capitol Records). The singer vowed to neve...

The rapper was recently let out of jail. He was sent back to jail after violating his probation. Now that he is out he can resume working on his upcoming album Original . The upcoming album features Busta Rhymes & Rick Ross among others.  I read that Mystikal is 41! I would of never guessed that. I don't know how old I thought he was but I wouldn't of guessed 41. Then again when Mystikal was really popular I was in high school and that was 10 years ago so I guess it makes sense.

I decided to take it back a little bit to the year 1994 when Anita released this video and single. ---------------- Now playing: Ashanti - Rescue via FoxyTunes

Rihanna has been one of the few females in the lead for the remake of the 1992 movie, "The Bodyguard" which starred Whitney Houston. When Rihanna was recently asked about her possible involvement in the movie; she shot it down. Looks like the singer hates singers who betray singers in movies. I mean after all its not a stretch when you think about it. I mean of course a lot of people will take this and make it more than what it is. It is simply her opinion but I have to agree. We've seen Beyonce play enough singers in movies! I just read that Anita Baker is releasing a new album on June 7. The album's first single is rumored to be a remake of Tyreses' hit; "Lately" which will feature Tyrese on vocals. The song is set to debut on March 28. Look out for that! Not long ago some footage leaked out of Anita working with Snoop Dogg on a track which may be included on the new album. Should be interesting. I read that Brandy and Tyrese are recording a duet which...

Blige is working on a new album which is slated to be released this January. The new album is tentatively titled, "LuvHer". A few songs including "Break Up To Make Up" have leaked out and Mary has said the songs are just that; leaks. Had the song took off, it would of became the first single! Am I right or wrong? Make sure you be on the look out for the new Mary J. Blige album. Anita Baker will be honored at this years Soul Train Music Awards which will air on BET and Centric on November 28 at 9 p.m. eastern time. R&B icon Anita Baker is set to make fans of her romantic style excited with the forthcoming “21st Century Love,” the artist’s seventh studio album, which will be released soon on Blue Note Records/EMI. The ten track offering lives up to its title, featuring the same classic baby making music that Baker is known for, but with a modern twist. I read that Anita Baker would be on 'The Mo'Nique Show' but I wasn't home last night and missed it but thank goodness for the internet right? I can't say I ever been that big on Anita like a lot of others but I do like the see the old school singers perform their classic hits. Check it out! ---------------- Now playing: Chante Moore - Wey U via FoxyTunes

Back in 1994, Anita Baker released, "I Apologize" which was one of few hits of the 90s as the star became very reclusive. In recent news it is said that Anita is working on a new album. This is truly throwback right here, Anita Baker, it gets no better! Check it out!
