Remy Ma took home the award for Best Female Rapper last night at the BET awards breaking Nicki Minaj's 7 year streak! Remy definitely deserved the honor in my opinion. Someone pointed out the fact that Remy was the only nominee that actually released an album this year(her joint album with Fat Joe) which I didn't even realize. Female rappers have no problems putting out songs or getting on features but putting out albums is a totally different story. Congrats to Remy Ma for her win! Now as far as the BET awards is concerned, I was not home to watch the telecast as I was out being social. I did however had the ability to capture the most talked about moments and performances thanks to social media. One of the highlights of the night based on my seeings was the reunion of famed R&B group Xscape who sang a medley of their hits. Bruno Mars opened the show. Naturi Naughton of "Power" fame, who also portrayed Lil' Kim in "Notorious" is still feeling the heat from Lil' Kim years after the movie debuted. It's been no secret that Kim wasn't happy with Naughton's portrayal of her in "Notorious". Then again when is anyone ever happy about how their portrayed in a biopic? I can understand Lil' Kim's reasoning but Naughton has finally shot back after years of being dogged by Kim. Apparently it was being reported that Kim was being shady toward Naughton during the VH1 "Hip Hop Honors" after party. Naughton said during a late night VH1 show that she doesn't have any beef with Kim. So what do guys think? Is Lil' Kim taking things too far? Drake opened up his Summer Sixteen tour in Dallas by taking some shots at his adversaries; Joe Budden, Tyga, and Tory Lanez. Drake jokingly informed concert goers that he should of brought Joe Budden out to perform "Pump It Up". Drake also made a reference to the many artists(Tyga and Tory Lanez) that remade or ripped off his song, "Controlla". To say Drake's concert was interesting is an understatement. Personally I don't think Drake should waste his time on Joe Budden or even Meek Mill for that matter but that's just me. Brandy's record label, Chamelon Entertainment(or I think its a production company) she's with that helped her land a record deal with RCA has blasted her! Joe Budden has responded to Drake after Drake dissed him on French Montana's new single, "No Shopping". I haven't heard either song and could really care less but this whole feud is picking up stream. It all started last week or so when Joe Budden released a few dis tracks aimed at Drake. Joe Budden's "Afraid" song has been a hot topic as the song was trending on Twitter upon its release. Tamar Braxton has squashed reports that she and husband, Vincent Herbert are divorcing. The two appeared on social media all boo'd up which put an end to those reports. In reality TV news, former "Love & Hip Hop Atlanta" star Erica Dixon has been going back and forth with Tammy Rivera over how they used to be friends or some jargon. The iHeart radio pool party went down last night in Vegas and in attendance and performing were the likes of Kelly Clarkson, Shaggy, Nicki Minaj and Chris Brown. Ironically Chris Brown's former foe, Tyson Beckford was also in attendance. Tyson even snapchatted while Chris was performing on stage. This probably wouldn't of even happened last week but glad the men put the beef behind them. Speaking of behind, Joe Budden is on the run from the law. After failing to appear in court there is a warrant out for his arrest. The reality TV star was set to appear in court after physically abusing his girlfriend after he found out she was cheating. Yes! In their third year together; Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon renew their wedding vows. It is very surprising to a lot of people but not to me. Being the celebrity and person that Mariah Carey is I'm definitely not surprised. Mariah is a very festive person; she likes to have parties and celebrate anniversaries.
