Blu Is A Mood Till I'm Gone U Must Be Crazy The One All You Had To Say When I Needed You Blu Cantrell released her debut album; "So Blu" in the summer of 2001. It was a great year for music and Blu's debut was one of the best R&B albums of that year. The album contained the hit single; "Hit 'Em Up Style(Oops)" produced by Dallas Austin. "Hit 'Em Up" would be the only single released here in the States. The album went gold and introduced Blu as a vocalist to be reckoned with. I remember my Mother had this cassette and she was always playing it. Eventually the album grew on me and what do you know; years down the road; I got my own copy.

U Only U Take Me Tonight Love Again So Hot Focus Every Lil' Thing In 2004; Ashanti released "Concrete Rose" which featured the singles; "Only U" and "Don't Let Them". The album's shelf life was short lived thanks in part to the impending lawsuit against The Inc. This would also be the second to last full length album Ashanti did under The Inc. label.

| Good Life Time To Move On What About I'm Gone Vegas Straight Up Sparkle released her self-titled debut album in May of 1998. The album contained the first single; "Be Careful" featuring R. Kelly. The album featured other singles; "Time To Move On" and "What About" but "Be Careful" remains her most popular and notable single to date. The album; "Sparkle" was certified Platinum. This is one of the few albums that I still play to this day and sometimes all the way through. It is that good and R. Kelly produced and wrote the entire album. This would be Sparkle's only successful album to date. R. Kelly and Sparkle had a falling out a year later over creative differences. She signed to Motown in 2000 and released the album; "Told Ya So".

Two Week Notice Not The Way I Do I'm Not That Type Surround U Fantasia released her self-titled sophomore album in December of 2006(if I'm not mistaken). The album featured the singles; "Hood Boy" and "When I See U". News recently broke that Fantasia is pregnant with her second child. Of course everyone and their mama has something to say about it. Considered the child is fathered by her married lover. What Fantasia does in her personal life is her business. I do feel people are too hard and judgmental towards her though.

A rivalry was instantly created as is the case with most black female R&B singers. This album is cool, mellow, and laid-back for the most part. It is really enjoyable and its been awhile since I gave it a spin.

Dear Lie Silly Ho Automatic Lovesick I'm Good At Being Bad My Life If They Knew In 1999 TLC returned with the album; "Fanmail" which included the hits "No Scrubs" and "Unpretty". The "scrubs" in "No Scrubs" became a catchphrase which was used to describe no good men.

Your Child No Happy Holidays All That I Can Say Sexy I'm In Love Deep Inside Beautiful Ones Not Lookin' The Love I Never Had Mary J. Blige mellowed it out and smoothed it out on her 1999 album; "Mary" which featured the singles; "All That I Can Say", "Deep Inside" and "Your Child". The album garnered great reviews because it reflected Mary J. in a more mature light.

While she has only released two albums and had been currently working on a third; "Back To Black" had been her most successful thus far. The album featured hit singles such as "Rehab". The album features the singles; "Pull Over" as well as the title track. Nasty, raw, brash, and in your face; Trina's debut is everything you'd expect out of a typical female rapper's debut.

The title track was also released featuring a rap from T.I. which was different from the album version. The album is very good in my opinion and I think was overlooked. After this though; Amerie lost me with her other albums.

If I Ain't Got You So Simple Dragon Days Diary Slow Down Feeling U, Feeling Me(Interlude) This is my favorite album of Alicia Keys'. The others I really never really got into. This album contains the hit singles; "Diary" and "You Don't Know My Name".

I Don't Care So Hot 730 The Letter Candy Run Dem Run Yo Shit Gangsta Boogie 'Bout My Paper Today marks the 10th anniversary of Foxy Brown's "Broken Silence" album. The album went Gold and featured the singles; "Oh Yeah", "Candy", and "Tables Will Turn". The album has been labeled a classic and its definitely worth checking out if you haven't.

I Love You No Place Like Home Let Her Go Make Me Wanna Scream Don't Wanna Say Goodbye Unhappy Holding On To Love Blu Cantrell released her sophomore album; "Bittersweet" in 2003. Sadly the album was overlooked but its still a grown and sexy affair. The lead single; "Breathe" didn't do much here in the states but went #1 in the UK.

This album would become a part of my life years down the line though. It wasn't very long ago when I revisited this album as an adult. I truly didn't get the fuss about it but there's usually a lot of hype regarding a lot of singer's debut albums; this one is no exception.

Don't Be Cruel My Prerogative Roni Every Little Step Rock Wit'cha I remember my sister had this cassette as well as our neighbors across the street. You can imagine how crazy they were about Bobby Brown and this album. I didn't understand it at the time but "Don't Be Cruel" is considered Bobby's best album.

Throwback Truth Hurts Superstar Seduction Caught Up Simple Things There was a lot of hype surrounding this album upon its release and I didn't understand at the time. I didn't pay it much attention to a friend of mine told me how good it was. I finally gave it a chance and was pleasantly surprised. So was everyone else since "Confessions" to date has sold nearly 10 million copies in the US.
