So 2017 has shaped up to be quite the year for stripper turned former reality TV star turned rapper, Cardi B. Her single, "Bodak Yellow" ruled the Hot 100 charts for 3 weeks and a few days ago she was on stage with her boyfriend, Offset from Migos when he proposed to her. Friday saw the release of the new Migos record, "Motor Sport" featuring Cardi B. and Nicki Minaj. News of the record quickly spread and before you know it was trending on Twitter and had everyone drawing comparisons as to had the best verse between Cardi and Nicki. Some people allege that both ladies were subliminally dissing each other since the media(and fans) have been trying to pit both ladies against one another. Nicki Minaj surprised fans when she revealed through Twitter that she and Trina have recently collaborated. The revelation caused a frenzy resulting in the news to cause "Nicki & Trina" to begin trending on Twitter. It's funny because some people were acting like this is the first collaboration between the rappers when it fact it will mark their fourth collaboration. Whose album will this collaboration appear on is unknown. Trina revealed the guest list on her upcoming album awhile ago and Nicki wasn't one of the guests unless things have changed. Well I was on Twitter earlier today and Azealia Banks was tweeting about doing a possible collaboration with her nemesis, Iggy Azalea much to the surprise of her followers(including myself). While the price tag is ridiculous I do commend Beyoncé for always creating memorabilia for her fans to cherish for years down the road unlike other artists. Naturi Naughton of "Power" fame, who also portrayed Lil' Kim in "Notorious" is still feeling the heat from Lil' Kim years after the movie debuted. It's been no secret that Kim wasn't happy with Naughton's portrayal of her in "Notorious". Then again when is anyone ever happy about how their portrayed in a biopic? Rihanna just released her video for her new single, "Sledgehammer" from the "Star Trek" soundtrack. From what I saw the video looks a little trippy and Rihanna looks demonic. I read the song was written by Sia(worked with Christina Aguilera). Rihanna, on several occasions has referred to the married James as "bae" upon congratulating him on his win in the NBA Finals last night. Foxy Brown upset club promoters after failing to show up at the allotted time she was scheduled to perform. The promoter(s) went all in on Ms. Inga Marchand! Beyoncé just released a teaser for "Lemonade". The teaser is a mere 20 seconds and features Queen Bey in cornrows with her face hidden behind her arms. Beyoncé echoes "what I'm going to do now?" before flashing that the world premiere event will be telecast April 23 9 PM EST on HBO. Are you all ready? Is Nicki Minaj the culprit of the leaking the video of Iggy Azalea's fiancé Nick Young confessing to cheating on her? Well that's what reports are saying. It's also being said that Nicki Minaj caught the shade Iggy Azalea threw at her on "Watch What Happens Live". Iggy made a reference to Nicki Minaj having multiple writers on songs, when she claimed during an acceptance speech that she writes all her rhymes. This is the first time that I can recall Iggy actually throwing shade at Nicki but Nicki deserved it to be honest. Nicki has been throwing shade at Iggy for awhile and Iggy has always been supportive of Nicki. Whew! So many stories to report, where do I start? Well Iggy Azalea's fiancé Nick Young was caught on tape admitting that he cheated on Iggy with a 19 year old girl. Hey! I'll call this blog plot, "the beef edition" since all the news I'm reporting has to do with quarrels between lovers, former band mates, and rival rappers. The war is on between Tank and Tyrese. Formally the two singers were apart of the R&B trio TGT(Tyrese Ginuwine and Tank). Now the two singers are at odds over what Tank describes as Tyrese being greedy when it came to splitting money between the three men.
