So 2017 has shaped up to be quite the year for stripper turned former reality TV star turned rapper, Cardi B. Her single, "Bodak Yellow" ruled the Hot 100 charts for 3 weeks and a few days ago she was on stage with her boyfriend, Offset from Migos when he proposed to her. Friday saw the release of the new Migos record, "Motor Sport" featuring Cardi B. and Nicki Minaj. News of the record quickly spread and before you know it was trending on Twitter and had everyone drawing comparisons as to had the best verse between Cardi and Nicki. Some people allege that both ladies were subliminally dissing each other since the media(and fans) have been trying to pit both ladies against one another. Remy Ma took home the award for Best Female Rapper last night at the BET awards breaking Nicki Minaj's 7 year streak! Remy definitely deserved the honor in my opinion. Someone pointed out the fact that Remy was the only nominee that actually released an album this year(her joint album with Fat Joe) which I didn't even realize. Female rappers have no problems putting out songs or getting on features but putting out albums is a totally different story. Congrats to Remy Ma for her win! Now as far as the BET awards is concerned, I was not home to watch the telecast as I was out being social. I did however had the ability to capture the most talked about moments and performances thanks to social media. But on to some music news, last week Big Sean's house was broken into. It all happened while the rapper was in Dubai. $150,000 in jewelry was taken and a ransom note was apparently left behind. There was an e-mail left to Big Sean stating that if he wanted his jewelry back, there were instructions to get it back. Many believe the burglary was an inside job. What do you think? And Nelly won't face charges after a drug bust back in April on his tour bus. The judge says Nelly must stay out of trouble for at a least a year and his record will be wiped clean. It seems as of lately some of our favorite rappers just can't stay out of trouble but why? Is it a case of life imitating art or art imitating life? You decide.    Rick Ross - Rick Ross was arrested twice in less than a month. First the rapper was arrested for marijuana possession. Now the rapper was just recently arrested for aggravated assault and kidnapping. I'm still wondering who Rick Ross kidnapped. I guess if I read the rest of the story I would know but I guess I don't care as much. And the aggravated assault was on one of his employees who he pistol whipped.    Diddy - Diddy is known to "throw bows" just ask Drake.
