Rapper, Remy Ma has just signed a multi-million dollar deal with Columbia Records(Beyoncé's record label) which will release her next album. The album's first single has been revealed and its her collaboration with Lil' Kim titled, "Wake Me Up" which is said to be a Nicki Minaj dis. It was just a month or so ago when Remy Ma and Lil' Kim posed for a picture in the studio speaking of their upcoming collaboration. A video for the single has been shot and pictures acquired from TMZ show the rappers alongside a sports car and standing alongside one another in an undisclosed location. In the song, Remy is said to attack Nicki's relationship with Nas among other things. It looks like things are about to get much worse between Remy Ma and Nicki Minaj. So 2017 has shaped up to be quite the year for stripper turned former reality TV star turned rapper, Cardi B. Her single, "Bodak Yellow" ruled the Hot 100 charts for 3 weeks and a few days ago she was on stage with her boyfriend, Offset from Migos when he proposed to her. Friday saw the release of the new Migos record, "Motor Sport" featuring Cardi B. and Nicki Minaj. News of the record quickly spread and before you know it was trending on Twitter and had everyone drawing comparisons as to had the best verse between Cardi and Nicki. Some people allege that both ladies were subliminally dissing each other since the media(and fans) have been trying to pit both ladies against one another. A few days ago a video surfaced of rapper Lil'Kim's new video and single. The untitled single was viewed at an unknown media event in which Kim attended. Later, more footage was released with Lil' Kim speaking indicating that the new single and video serves as a precursor to her new project slated to be released at the top of next year. Let's just hope that Kim sticks to her guns in releasing this video, single, and new album. We all know her history of failing to release albums, singles, EP's, and mixtapes. I can't fault Kim entirely as I know she hasn't been surrounded by people that had her best interests at heart in my opinion. Foxy Brown continues to be an Internet gangster and stir the pot. The controversial rapper who has been sparring with Remy Ma over the years released her own dis track, "Break's Over" a few months ago. The song, however was not commercially released and was simply released in a snippet form to underground and blog circuits. In the wee hours of the morning, Foxy Brown posted a video to her social media account of herself in a SUV reciting the lyrics to the dis track while it played in the background. Foxy was en route to a performance adorned in a pink Moschino hat and track suit. Surprisingly, Nicki Minaj caught wind of the video and commented that Foxy looked "beautiful". Foxy also confirmed rumors that she has a daughter by shouting out her "dawta" on Instagram. Foxy has been teasing music now for the past 13 years and she has yet to put out a full length project. New York's annual Summer Jam went down last night and it was a night to remember for several reasons. Remy Ma was one of the featured performers and for her set she brought out some legendary women in Hip Hop including MC Lyte, Rah Digga, Lady of Rage(song: "Afro Puffs"), Monie Love(song: "It's A Shame"), Queen Latifah, Lil' Kim, and newbies Cardi B("Love & Hip Hop New York), and Young M.A.(song: "Ooo"). Lil' Kim joined Remy Ma on stage to perform her verse from Mobb Deep's "Quiet Storm Remix" and Queen Latifah came out to perform "U N I T Y". Once the love fest between the women were over. If you all were unaware of it but for some time Tiny Harris(T.I.'s ex wife) and Tamar had fallen out over unknown reasons. Well T.I. called out both women after Tiny posted a happy birthday shout out to her godson which is Tamar Braxton's son, Logan. T.I.(oh how I hate having to mention him) called out both Tiny and Tamar for being divas and that prompted Tamar to issue a public apology to Tiny in which she accepted. While Nicki played somewhat coy, she did admit to having "sleepovers" with Nas. She also says that she's "celibate" but may make an exception for Nas. Beyoncé had a push party(baby shower) yesterday with several friends and family by her side. Beyoncé's due date and sex of her twins are unknown has seen much speculation. Nicki Minaj will be opening tonight's Billboard Music Awards with what is being labeled a "epic 9 minute performance". Remy Ma has everyone talking when she dropped the the 7 minute dis track, "shEther" aimed at Nicki Minaj. Social media was abuzz as one would imagine with various reactions, funny memes, and opinions. Beauty is only skin deep Cee Lo Green of NBC's "The Voice" is making headlines after a surveillance video surfaced of him in the studio talking on a phone and it exploding and him dropping to the ground. It's being reported that the phone was one manufactured by Samsung. Samsung has faced harsh criticism in recent months after their Galaxy Note phones began exploding and causing fires. There has been no word yet from Samsung in regards to the incident. No one is sure if the phone he's using was actually a Samsung either. It's all just speculation. I need a new Drake avatar Drake had Twitter on fire last night when he released a slew of new songs that dissed Kid Cudi and Pusha T. In one of the songs Drake calls an unnamed Pusha T a "studio drug dealer" or something along those lines. Drake also calls out Kid Cudi by making reference to Kid Cudi's former album title, "man on the moon". People felt that Drake was being insensitive to Kid Cudi since he is currently in rehab. Just months ago Kid Cudi called Drake and Kanye West out. So now Drake is responding two months later, maybe because it took him two months to write the response or his ghostwriter wrote it. Lil' Kim teams up with Faith Faith Evans posted to her Instagram that she just did a collab with Lil' Kim for her "The King & I" album. Faith expressed her love for the track she did with Kim and Kim returned the love back via Instagram. The two have patched up their rivalry back sometime ago. It all started a few years ago when they were seen hugged up to more recently Faith introducing Lil' Kim during her VH1 Hip Honors ceremony. What do you think of Lil' Kim and Faith collaborating? Naturi Naughton of "Power" fame, who also portrayed Lil' Kim in "Notorious" is still feeling the heat from Lil' Kim years after the movie debuted. It's been no secret that Kim wasn't happy with Naughton's portrayal of her in "Notorious". Then again when is anyone ever happy about how their portrayed in a biopic? Fresh off her performance at the VH1 "Hip Hop Honors", DeJ Loaf who paid tribute to Lil' Kim is now in the studio with the Queen Bee. The two posed in a picture that made the rounds today via social media. So there are a few questions I'm curious to know. When will we hear this collaboration, that's one and whose album will it be featured on? I know DeJ Loaf said she was working on her first album and who knows if Kim will drop an album any time soon. We can however expect Lil' Kim to drop a song or a mixtape but what about an album? I believe that's what the fans really want but for now they'll take Kim however they can. Foxy Brown is mad at VH1 for leaving her out of the "Hip Hop Honors" tribute that aired Monday. She went on to include how Lauryn Hill was also left out. In VH1's defense they did have a picture of Foxy Brown up in the background during the finale performance. Foxy promised her fans once again that she has new music and plans to return.
