So its finally been confirmed that BET will be honoring Janet Jackson at this year's BET Awards airing on Sunday June 28. Ciara, Tinashe, Chris Brown and Jason Derulo will be on hand to honor the icon. Will you be watching? I think what would be really cool is if Paula Abdul played a hand in the tribute in some capacity, whether it was her performing one of Janet's routines or presenting her with an award? I mean what do you all think? Paula played a big part in Janet's career early on. Speaking of surprises, Tyga possibly found a way to stop people from talking about he and his teenage lover! Early this afternoon Tyga surprise released his album, "The Gold Album" on Spotify. I don't have Spotify so I guess I'll have to hear it in a different capacity. "The Gold Album" has been sitting for awhile on the shelves since Cash Money wouldn't release it for unknown reasons. Lil' Wayne faced the same fate causing him to fall out with Birdman....

In 1988 Paula Abdul released the video to her #1 Pop hit Straight Up which features a cameo from her rumored lover at the time, Arsenio Hall. For some reason in this clip, he is blurred out. As a kid I was smitten for Paula Abdul and I literally begged my father to buy me Paula's second album, "Spellbound". The album featured the first single, "Promise Of A New Day". For the album's second single, "Rush Rush" was released and featured actor Keanu Reeves in the video. One of my favorite songs on the album was "Vibeology". I liked the title and it was one of my dance tracks that makes you really want to dance. As for the album cover itself, I always thought it was strange but I liked it nonetheless. I remember how much I used to heart Paula Abdul and I still do. This video brings back a lot of memories for me. It was very sexual especially upon the time of its release and I had to be like six years ago. I think this is one of Paula's best videos. I love everything about it; the choreography, etc. Check it out! If you haven't heard or read Paula Abdul is rumored to be a judge on the upcoming Americanized version of the UK hit, 'X Factor'. There was also a rumor about her joining 'Dancing With The Stars' or 'So You Think You Can Dance'. I guess we will all have to wait and see.

In the 80s you had a bevy of dance divas that ranged from Madonna to Jody Watley. Paula Abdul not only was a top choreographer in the 80s but she was also a huge pop star. Two hit albums and six number one singles, Paula Abdul in my eyes is considered legendary. Check out the title cut from her debut album, "Forever Your Girl".
