Tank is returning with a new album; "Savior" to be released this Winter. No solid release date has been revealed. The album's first single; "Compliments" features Kris Stephens. I just heard the song last night and its typical Tank. I'm not saying that's bad but its the type of song we've all come to expect from Tank. Carl Thomas finds his upcoming album; "Conquer" pushed back to December 6. The album was originally due to be released in November. Not only will Rick Ross release one single but two singles for his new album; "God Forgives I Don't" in stores and online December 13. I think I like Ross better on his features but that's just me. It's not really many songs where he is the lead artist that I truly like. Brandy is hard at work on a new album; her first for the RCA label. It was revealed a little while back that the singer had a new record deal. The singer is tapping back into her early R&B roots. Along for the ride with Brandy are Rodney Jerkins; Timbaland; Bangladesh(worked with Ciara); Rico Love; and Jim Jonsin(produced "Lollipop" for Lil' Wayne). The album is slated to be released early next year. Meanwhile its been noted that Brandy is taping an episode of BET's "The Game" which is rumored to air in January. She currently stars as a mentor in the show; "Majors & Minors" on the HUB network. She also has a recurring role on Lifetime's "Drop Dead Diva". Go Brandy! Blige are dropping their respective album that day and who knows who else. Then again R&B releases have a lot of push backs so you never know in the end but as of now; its three R&B releases being released on October 4. Carl Thomas released his debut album; "Emotional" in early 2000. The album contained the lead single; "I Wish"; one of my personal favorites. The song told a wonderful story and it was better exemplified in the video. The single; "Summer Rain" was issued as the album's second single followed by the title track which featured Stacy Dash in the video. The album featured the typical slow jams you would expect from an artist of Carl's caliber; smooth and seductive. The album featured songwriting and production by Kelly Price, Heavy D, Mike City(one of my favorites), and Diddy of course. I figure I'd take a break from spotlighting the women with throwback videos and show the men some love. Can you believe it has been 10 years since Carl Thomas released his debut single, 'I Wish'. It was from his 2000 Bad Boy debut, 'Emotional'. Check it out! Not only do I like this song but the video is great; it has a nice storyline; something a lot of videos lack these days.

"Love Is A Battlefield" is a title of a song by famous female rocker Pat Benatar. I'm not sure how many of you youngins are familiar with her. I can't sit here and say I know everything about her myself. I do now that I remember the video on VH1 many many years ago. Now the whole "Battlefield" theme has been resurrected thanks to American Idol winner Jordin Sparks. The new album due July 21 is led by the title track. This album cover that you see accompanied with this post serves as the deluxe version album cover. I actually saw this picture in Billboard magazine thinking it was simple a promo pic but I guess not. I actually like the title "Battlefield"(for an album title). It was his debut single from his "Emotional" album which spawned a few other hits("Summer Rain" and as well as the title cut). Signed to Bad Boy Records in the early 00's Carl Thomas was hailed as the next big thing in R&B. Gawd! I hate when they say that about people. It puts a lot of pressure on the artist to me. Carl would go on to release two more albums but none of them were as successful as his platinum debut. As for the video, it is one of my favorites now that I think about it. I love how the video follows the song. Nowadays you don't see that much. The song has a smooth and melancholy feel but I know many people can relate to it. Check it out!
