So its been revealed that Mariah Carey will release her new single The Art Of Letting Go on November 11. The new single is the rumored titled for Mariah's upcoming album which currently has no release date. While we await Mariah's new music, there is a battle brewing between two R&B/Hip Hop/Pop producers; Pharrell and Will.I.Am. The two producers are battling over the trademark of the phrase 'I Am' which Will.I.Am feels he owns the rights to. The two have traded a few insults but at the end of the day do we really care?? Why don't you guys continue to produce good music! A phrase such as 'I Am' should never be that serious. I'm just saying! Speaking of battles, a fan of K. Michelle's was upset when the singer refused a photo op after a New York concert. The fan took to social media to call out K. Michelle and in typical K. Michelle fashion, she reponded hastily calling the fan a "monkey". Ouch! We all know not to get on K. Michelle...

Jennifer Lopez is returning to American Idol, according to reports. She is said to be joined by will.i.am of The Black Eyed Peas fame and returning judge Keith Urban. It had been rumored before the end of last season that J-LO was set to return to Idol. After a dismal last season full of turmoil and drama FOX is ready to re up the sagging franchise that is American Idol . Let's see if J-LO's return to the judging panel will up ratings again.

The two come together to perform their hit, "Check It Out". Listening to this song, which I have heard before, I can easily see Fergie in place of Nicki Minaj but it works I guess. I'm not a big fan of the song and I'm not sure if it will appear on Nicki Minaj's album or the Black Eyed Peas album. Whitney Houston is currently in the UK during a press release for her new album, "I Look To You" due September 1. The album's long rumored first single, "I Didn't Have My Own Strength" leaked out and the response was lukewarm. The vocals on the song were raspy and scratchy. Fact is that is how Whitney has sounded over the last few years. It is no surprise that her voice is not what it used to be. I wish Arista and Clive Davis would stop making Whitney sing all these power ballads. They are just not in anymore. All Whitney needs is some strong, hip material similar to that on the "My Love Is Your Love" album. Now the Alicia Keys song, "Million Dollar Bill" is being touted as the album's first single.
