Kelly Rowland To Be Honored By Essence Music Event

Kelly Rowland continues to gain kudos for having a remarkable 2011 thanks in part to her hit single; "Motivation" which has done a lot of her career worldwide. Now Black magazine Essence is honoring the singer at a music event. Read more below:

Kelly Rowland is going to be saluted at the upcoming 3rd annual Essence Black Women in Music Event, which will be held during 2012 Grammy week. She's going to be honored at an invitation-only ceremony which will take place on February 8, 2012 in Los Angeles.

"We've watched Kelly Rowland for over a decade grow from a teenage sensation into an international superstar," said Essence editor-in-chief Constance C.R. White. "Her talent, drive and remarkable creative force show what it truly means to be a young powerhouse in an ever-changing industry."

Constance continued praising the former member of Destiny's Child. "Kelly embodies the 'soul' of young Black women through her music and we are proud to salute her dynamic contributions," the editor gushed.

The upcoming event will feature an exclusive performance from Kelly and a special guest from Grammy-winning artist Eve. Another influential figure in music who will be celebrated at the luncheon is music industry veteran Sylvia Rhone.
