Grammy award-winning rapper Nelly will give back to his local community, by performing a benefit concert to help raise funds for a local college.

Nelly is slated to perform at venue The Pageant in St. Louis later on this month, along with Grammy award-winning R&B artist/actress Monica.

The pair will be on hand to help raise money for the Vatterott College Scholarship Fund, to benefit high achieving students who are not able to afford college on their own.

“I see myself in the students of Vatterott," Nelly told AllHipHop.com. "Just as I reached my goals, I want to help them reach theirs. I am happy to help those who are trying to help themselves.”

The entire proceeds from the evening will be donated to the Vatterott College Scholarship Fund, which was founded in 2010.

“Having an artist of Nelly’s caliber show such commitment to our students is a great honor for us. His commitment to education is evident,” added Pam Bell, Chief Executive Officer and President of Vatterott Educational Centers, Inc. “We’re proud to partner with one of St. Louis’ most talented entertainers to help our students attain their educational goals.”

Nelly and Monica are slated to hit stage at the pageant on Saturday, August 20, starting at 7:00 PM.
