The Ambitious Girls
I was just sitting here thinking as I tend to do about female singers in general who have children in their 20s as opposed to the singers who have children later on in life like their 40s.
I was thinking how the female singers that have children in their later years proved to be more ambitious and successful as those who had children in their earlier years.
Unfortunately the music industry is very fickle and has always been; we all know this. A female singer having a baby in her mid 20s doesn't exactly do wonders for her career unfortunately. It actually hinders it and that said female singer loses some of her luster and appeal. We've seen singers like Alicia Keys and Keyshia Cole have children and their careers have dwindled a little.
You have singers like Mariah Carey, Beyonce, and Jennifer Lopez who are all very similar in the fact that they are all very ambitious. Though Beyonce doesn't have children or is pregnant like Mariah or J-LO; I don't see her having any children until later in her career anyway. By the time she does; she can afford to have one and enjoy life's luxury. Actually she can do that now if she wanted.
We've seen Keyshia Cole struggle with her new album; "Calling All Hearts" after giving birth but some people would probably say its the music. I actually liked the album even though I couldn't get into it like that. There are rare exceptions like Monica who has two children but has still been pretty moderately successful.
