Producer Spotlight: Dallas Austin

I think its safe to say Dallas Austin is pretty underrated as a producer. But his resume is pretty lengthy and full of hits from your favorite singers. Dallas Austin is not like the Jermaine Dupri's and Diddy's of the world. He is not one of those producers who really tries to be a solo star. Dallas Austin is more low profile and has a reputation for being difficult and expensive. Then again what producer is not expensive.

Dallas Austin shares a child with Chili from TLC and appeared on her "What Chili Wants" show. He also worked closely with and mentored Monica.

A few years ago Dallas Austin spoke out against artists who have sex with producers in exchange for free songs. The video caused mass hysteria online and had everyone talking. Later Dallas tried to do some damage control and take everything back but once it was out; it was out. The producer alleged that artists such as Christina Milian; Joss Stone; and Christina Aguilera were prone to such acts. Then again I'm not sure if Christina Milian's name was mentioned but she did marry The-Dream.

I kept wondering what it was about this post, that made it so successful; one word: JANET! The fact that Janet has new music on the way makes this post even more of a hot topic.
