Mariah Carey Wins Award For Role In 'Precious'

Mariah and husband Nick Cannon attended the 14th Annual Capri, Hollywood International Film Festival in Capri, Italy on Monday, December 28, 2009 where Mariah was honored with the "Capri Award '09 - Supporting Actress of the Year" for her outstanding performance in Precious.
Alicia Keys To Appear on SNL!
Alicia Keys is kicking off the New Year with nothing but laughs and music thanks to Saturday Night Live.

Joining Charles Barkley as one of the first guests to appear on the show (in 2010) that spoofed Beyonce's "Single Ladies" and featured Rihanna's comedic skit with 'Shy Ronnie,' Keys is slated to perform January 9.

NBA legend turned CNN personality Charles Barkley will host that night.

In related news, Saturday Night Live has booked Avatar star Sigourney Weaver and chart-topping act The Ting Tings. They appear January 16.
Melanie Fiona Tops R&B Charts!
After snagging a Grammy nomination, climbing the charts, and touring in support of her debut album "The Bridge," Melanie Fiona is capping off 2009 with her first no.1!

"It Kills Me," Fiona's Grammy-nominated single slides into the no.1 spot on this week's Billboard R&B/Hip Hop Songs chart ending Trey Songz's reign with the lauded hit "I Invented Sex".

Jumping 2-1 Wednesday, Fiona's "It Kills Me" swapped places with "I Invented Sex" thanks to increased airplay.

In related news, Trey Songz continues to dominate the Billboard R&B/Hip Hop Songs Top 10 with two singles. In addition to "I Invented Sex," Songz's Fabolous featured single "Say Aah" holds strong at no.4 this week.

Elsewhere on the chart, Jay-Z's new single "On To The Next One" jumps ten spots to reach no.61 (71-61). Featuring Swizz Beatz, "On To The Next One" follows the chart-topping single "Empire State of Mind" (feat. Alicia Keys).
