Whitney Houston Plans TV Performance To Promote New Album!

Whitney Houston, Clive Davis, and company are making sure Whitney's comeback to music is everything it is supposed to be. The diva will appear on ABC's "Good Morning America" but with a hitch! Whitney Houston Pre-Plans Performance!
When she appears on "Good Morning America" in September, instead of singing live, her performance will be pre-taped the day before. "Lots of singers don't like to perform at 7:30 in the morning," explained an insider. Lesser stars would be forced to perform live, but Houston is such an icon, the producers couldn't say no. "She's the music 'get' of the season. They are so happy to have her," our source said.

The powerhouse singers scored a whopping nine MTV Video Music Award nominations each, PEOPLE confirms exclusively.

The leading ladies tied for the most nominations in 2009, including video of the year and best female video.

"I'm excited and honored to be tied for most nominated for the VMAs," Beyoncé says. "I've been blessed this year to have 'Single Ladies' become a video people really connected with and responded to. I've spent so much time watching all the great versions people created all around the world. It's beautiful to feel you touch people and bring a song to life with a video."

The VMAs will take place on Sept. 13 at locations around New York City, including Radio City Music Hall.

Ashanti speaks on industry relationships!

When it comes to making friends in the industry R&B singer Ashanti could care less. According to the songstress, making friends in the industry isn’t her main priority. She says,

“Basically it’s hi and bye thing. I can’t speak for other people, but when you get into this music industry you’re told, ‘you’re not here to make friends’ and you definitely have to focus on what you’re doing. It’s tough because there are a lot of shady people and it’s very hard. Me personally, I don’t have like best friends in the industry.

yea it might be best for her to do though and you know she pre-recorded "The Star Spangled Banner" she did years ago too.
