Back At Work

-
Hello all! I have some exclusive music news for you all. Find out what part Kanye West played in Jay-Z's, "D.O.A." single, Janet back to work after Michael's death, and Common sued! It's all here. Read on about it!

Kanye West Influences Jay-Z's Single!
Who would've guessed that Kanye West, who used Auto-Tune on his most recent album, "808s and Heartbreak," was who inspired Jay-Z's latest single, "D.O.A. (Death Of Auto-tune)," off his upcoming album, "The Blueprint 3."

"He actually sparked the idea," Jay-Z told Billboard.com about the single. "When he heard the beat he said, 'Man, this is just so hard! This has to be against everything -- no auto-tune, none of that type of stuff!' He didn't know what I was going to do or where I was going to take it, but it was actually his fault."

Jay-Z says that the two recorded one track with Auto-Tune previously for "The Blueprint 3," but once "D.O.A." came about, they decided to scrap it. "After we made the 'D.O.A.' record about a month ago, we were like, 'if it's got to go, it's got to go.'"

Common Sued Over Debut Single!
Rapper Common is being sued by two songwriters over a track from his 1992 debut album "Can I Borrow a Dollar?"

"Take it EZ," the set's first single, features a sample from Rasa's "When Will The Day Come," and says so in the credits for the downloadable version of the track.

But, the shout-out in the credits doesn't translate to money, according to the song's writers Andrew Marks and London McDaniels. They filed suit on Tuesday seeking unspecified damages, reports TMZ.com.
Janet Jackson Returns To Work!
Two weeks after the death of her brother Michael Jackson, Janet Jackson is reportedly back in Atlanta to begin work on Tyler Perry's "Why Did I Get Married, Too?"

Malik Yoba, Jackson's love interest in the original 2007 film, took to his audio blog Saturday while on location for the sequel, saying that Jackson was back on set.

"For those of you who are curious about the state of Ms. Jackson, all seems well," Yoba said, according to Radar Online. "She's here at work and we've got a couple of serious scenes to shoot today."

Yoba also indicated that the cast will shoot for another week in Georgia, then head to the Bahamas for more filming.

Quick's Catch Up Interview

He finds Lil' Mama annoying. He wouldn't discuss how he designed his blog's banner. He was afraid I was going to take his idea. Not! He feels that Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon marriage is "staged". Guess what? A lot of people do. Who am I talking about? One of my good friends in the blogging community is Quick. I like to refer to him as Quickster. He runs one of the most popular blogs on the net, "Quick's Catch Up". Anyway I interviewed Quick last year and I allowed my readers (and visitors) to get to know him. Now I have taken the liberty of conducting a brand-new interview with Quick. I came up with this idea to basically see what has changed within' a year period from when I originally interviewed Quick. Name:LaBrandon aka Quick Age: 21 Location/Hometown: Gadsden, Alabama (a hour north of Birmingham, AL) Interview Date: 5/30/2008 Lamar: For those that do not know, how did you come up with the name "Quick's Catch Up"? Quick: Well....

Never forgetting the legacy that exists between these duos their influence and impact on society is examined here. Check it out! Marvin Gaye & Tammi Terrell This is for serious old school folks only. A lot of new school folks may not know much about this duo. Former labelmates and lovers found success in the early Motown days. Their songs would later become anthems and torch songs. Their time together was short lived after singer Terrell collapsed on stage during a performance. Ain't no mountain high enough! Peaches & Herb Perhaps best known for their hit, "Reunited" and "Shake Ya Groove Thing", Peaches & Herb were smooth as silk...
