People That Had Us Talking - October 2008

-
It's that time again! Let's take a look back at all the celebrities who had us talking the whole month of October. It is my special look back and reasons why these celebrities were talked about so much. I'm debating right now if I will continue to post this at the beginning of each month. Most of the time these posts are pre-written and kept saved until I'm ready to post it. Throughout the months I usually add names and headlines as things occur to make posts like these. Anyway check out the list!

Janet Jackson
No one can conjure up media scrunity like Janet Jackson. The last month saw Jackson fall ill after a bout of vertigo or was it? Whatever it was, like most Jackson stories, this one became overwhelming. Journalists and critics went out of their way to think up all types of strange theories as to Jackson canceling her tour. The show must go on though and it has. Janet's "Rock With U" tour may not be her most successful outing but it is her most talked about.

Aretha Franklin
You think Beyonce can't be outdone, well try Aretha Franklin on for size. It may be a hard feat but Aretha still packs a mean punch after 4 decades in the business. Aretha is one singer who takes her title as "Queen" very seriously and makes sure no artist(Beyonce or Tina Turner) will tarnish that. From her Mariah Carey remakes and beef with Tina Turner, Aretha Franklin was on the tip of our tongues all month long.

Beyonce
Whenever Beyonce readies new material, the fans are sure to go into a frenzy. As more information became available regarding her new album, "I Am...Sasha Fierce", Beyonce overkill had definitely arrived. From her intriguing album promo shots to her candid photos with husband Jay-Z, Beyonce always manages to have us talking somehow.

T.I.
He has no shortage of hits! It is safe to say that T.I. is definitely on a hit streak. Its almost as if his impending jail sentence doesn't exist. Riding high for the last few months with multiple hit singles, its possible to say Lil' Wayne has to fight for his throne.

Quick's Catch Up Interview

He finds Lil' Mama annoying. He wouldn't discuss how he designed his blog's banner. He was afraid I was going to take his idea. Not! He feels that Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon marriage is "staged". Guess what? A lot of people do. Who am I talking about? One of my good friends in the blogging community is Quick. I like to refer to him as Quickster. He runs one of the most popular blogs on the net, "Quick's Catch Up". Anyway I interviewed Quick last year and I allowed my readers (and visitors) to get to know him. Now I have taken the liberty of conducting a brand-new interview with Quick. I came up with this idea to basically see what has changed within' a year period from when I originally interviewed Quick. Name:LaBrandon aka Quick Age: 21 Location/Hometown: Gadsden, Alabama (a hour north of Birmingham, AL) Interview Date: 5/30/2008 Lamar: For those that do not know, how did you come up with the name "Quick's Catch Up"? Quick: Well....

Two heads are always better than one. These famous duos have made their mark in music history. Be it, there timeless love songs or their magical combination, these duos could do no wrong in our eyes. Unfortunately like any group troubled times put a damper on many of the working relationships that existed between these duos. Never forgetting the legacy that exists between these duos their influence and impact on society is examined here. Check it out! Marvin Gaye & Tammi Terrell This is for serious old school folks only. A lot of new school folks may not know much about this duo. Former labelmates and lovers found success in the early Motown days. Their songs would later become anthems and torch songs. Their time together was short lived after singer Terrell collapsed on stage during a performance. Ain't no mountain high enough! Peaches & Herb Perhaps best known for their hit, "Reunited" and "Shake Ya Groove Thing", Peaches & Herb were smooth as silk...
