The Daily Roundup: Lil' Wayne's Crush

Perhaps it just might be one of the most anticipated albums of 2008 for most people (myself not included) is Lil Wayne's "The Carter 3". The busy rapper recently spoke to MTV and revealed several things about the new album including first single, "Showtime", recording dozen of tracks (which may or may not make the final cut), and his one dream duet: MARIAH CAREY. Wayne even revealed that he has sort of a thing for Carey because he likes "older women". Don't let Carey hear the word "older". She is eternally 12! Wayne also mentioned that he is writing for legendary hip-hop producer Dr. Dre (perhaps for Dre's long awaited, "Detox" album). Meanwhile look for "The Carter 3" to drop sometime this year!

Hot off the heels of his rant regarding his displeasure with Jay-Z and Def Jam, rapper Beanie Sigel (like many other rappers) has violated his probation (which was set to end soon) and now has to go to jail. The probation has been extended to 18 months which includes the first six months spent in a halfway house forcing the rapper to be unable to promote his "The Solution" album, the very album he was complaining about not getting support from but yet you have all these legal cases over your head. These rappers need to start making better choices and realize they are not above the law.

Mariah Carey has denied rumors of her dissing Jennifer Lopez. Mariah spoke to People magazine shooting down the vicious rumor. I didn't think it was true anyway. It turns out some Mariah stan made the rumor up and Mariah simply did some damage control. I remember when Mariah was on "The Wendy Williams Experience" during her radio promo for "The Emancipation Of Mimi" and even then she denied any rumors of a feud. If these two women don't have a problem with each other why must people sit and try and create some petty beef. Some people simply have too much time on their hands.

Dem Franchise Boyz had us grooving to hits like "White Tee" and "I Think They Like Me". Now they are back with a new album "Da Point Of No Return" due March 25th. The first single is "Talkin' Out Da Side Of Ya Neck" which was produced by Bangladesh (producer of Kelis' "Bossy"). Guests and production come in the form of T-Pain, Pretty Ricky's Pleasure P, Mannie Fresh, Jazze Pha, and many more.

Ever since "America's Next Top Model" became this worldwide phenomenon model-esque shows continue to grow. There is "Project Runway", "Make Me A Supermodel", "The Janice Dickinson Modeling Agency" and let's not forget various Top Model shows i.e. "Britian's Next Top Model". I can only imagine what they will come up with next.

Former Destiny's Child member turned solo star, LeToya is releasing her sophomore album on June 10, 2008! With Beyonce likely to drop something behind her, its going to be a cruel summer!
