Irv Gotti Says Ashanti Damn Near Broke

Daily Roundup

Mary J. Grows Up

Queen Reign: Mary J. Blige's next single is "Work That" featuring Busta Rhymes. The song is produced by Neff-U (producer, Brandy "Say U Will"). Don't forget that Mary's, "Growing Pains" album is in stores Dec 18th. The album features collaborations with the aforementioned Busta Rhymes, Pharrell Williams, Usher, Ludacris, and Eve.

Mother Nature: Erykah Badu is releaasing her new album, "The Kabah" on Feb 26, 2008! The first single is entitled, "Honey" and to top that off, Ms. Badu is reportedly releasing two albums this year. The rumored single from the other untitled album is called, "Your Mind". Go Badu!

Chart Battle: Alicia Keys is set to have the #1 album next week on the Billboard 200 Album Charts with her latest album, "As I Am" which is estimated to sell around 550,000 copies. Go Alicia!

Law Suit: Brandy has been hit with a second lawsuit (I thought this was like the fifth by now) steming from her December 2006 fatal car crash that left one woman dead. The lawsuit was filed on behalf of the victim's 10 year old and 14 year old sons. If charged, Brandy will have to serve a year in prison and pay $1,000 fee.

Roc On: Jadakiss' signing to Roc-a-fella has been confirmed after rumors had spread about the signing awhile back. Jada can also be seen throwing up the roc sign in Jay's newest video, "Roc Boys".

Fall Out: The Flipmode Squad sans Busta Rhymes is not composed of Rampage, Rah Digga, Spliff Starr, and Baby Sham. Rampage went on to say something very disturbing about Busta's image and pending murder case saying he can't deal with people who murder people. Wowzers!

Hard Times: Irv Gotti is popping up in all these interviews as if he was an actual artist himself dishing out more dirt on Ashanti. He claims Shani Bani was too broke to buy herself out of a contract with Murder Inc. Apparently she requested removal from the label but Irv needed money and plus she is still under contract for a few more albums. Irv definitely has his work cut out for him. Not only does he have to bring Ashanti back to friction, but his toughest challenge will be Ja Rule (who's album has just been pushed back). I think instead of Irv running his mouth so much he should be focused on bringing Murder Inc back while he still can. And to say Ashanti is broke really surprises me? Ashanti is one of the very few artists who writes all her songs which you get paid huge for especially the hit songs. Maybe she must not be spending and saving her money wisely.

News Tidbits:
Remember when Da Brat beat that bitch with a bottle in the club? Well it turns out Brat is now getting sued!

Jay Z's "American Gangster" rules the Billboard 200 at #1 with 425,000 copies. Elsewhere on the charts, Chris Brown's "Exclusive" is #3 with 294,000. Cassidy is #10 with 63,000 copies.
