Rihanna is releasing a new album to be due later this year. The album's first single is "Only Girl". The album is said to be dance worthy and more upbeat than last year's dark, "Rated R".
Mary J. Blige is rumored to be working on a new album. The recently leaked single, "Break Up To Make Up" was said to just be a throwaway song. The song is not a single and Mary insists that the upcoming album is coming along and patience is advised. Good things come to those who wait. There are the few who feel Mary needs to sit down but I beg to differ. I don't mind albums from her. I just want something that will top "The Breakthrough" now because that was her last good album.
Just when I thought Trina had given up on her most recent album, "Amazin'", I just read that Trina will release, "I Want It All" featuring Monica as her next single. Trina's current single, "Always" also featured Monica and without a video the song peaked at #42 on the R&B/Hip Hop Charts. Well I hope that this single will actually get a video treatment then.

Album Spotlight: Bobby Brown - Don't Be Cruel

I was just four years old when this album was released but I still remember it as if it were yesterday. My sister had the cassette. I remember many a times dancing to the songs such as "Every Little Step and "My Prerogative".
Bobby Brown was coming off his stint as a member of the famed R&B group, New Edition. So naturally when Bobby Brown released "Don't Be Cruel", there was much fanfare.
The album featured the title track which was issued as the album's first single. The song was produced by the production team of Babyface and L.A. Reid which later housed the label, LaFace.
"My Prerogative" was chosen as the album's second single and featured a funky video. The song was later remade by Britney Spears which Bobby claims he didn't like. "Roni" was the album's third single followed by "Rock Wit'cha".
This album was a huge hit for Bobby Brown and it sold in excess of 4 million copies.

Faith Evans Reveals New Album Cover!
Faith looks slamming on the cover of her new album, "Something About Faith" in stores and online October 5. The album's first single, "Gone Already" debuted on the charts last week. "Something" features appearances from Estelle, Redman, Raekwon, and suddenly I had a brain freeze and can't remember everyone else. This album will be Faith's most collaborative effort. All I can do is pray that the collaborations don't bog the album down. Over the years Faith has been really consistent with each album and I'm sure this one will be no exception.I'm loving the album cover and I can't wait for the new album.

Producer Spotlight: Soulshock & Karlin
I will have to say that the production duo of Soulshock & Karlin(the two standing up in the picture) have produced some of the best R&B songs in the world. They have worked with virtually every R&B artist known to man. Their discography is pretty extensive and for a time, a R&B album wasn't complete without their input. They were born Carsten Schack and Kenneth Karlin out of Denmark. Carsten started out as a DJ who began remixing songs for the likes of MC Lyte and Queen Latifah. After a stint in New York, Carsten relocated back to his hometown of Denmark. He eventually linked up with a keyboard player, Kenneth Karlin and the rest is history.
Together the duo has produced various #1 singles and Karlin once dated singer Tracie Spencer. The duo produced some songs on her last album, "Tracie".
Check out some of the songs this duo is responsible for bringing us:
- Hit By Love, CeCe Peniston
- Before You Walk Out Of My Life, Monica
- Heartbreak Hotel, Whitney Houston feat. Faith Evans & Kelly Price
- Hooked On You, Silk
- You Don't Know, 702
- It's All About You(Not About Me), Tracie Spencer
- Truth Is, Fantasia
- Sandcastle Disco, Solange
- Can't Believe, Mya

Nelly's single, "Just A Dream" debuted at #12 on the Billboard Hot 100 this week and its a comeback of sorts for the rapper who's last album, "Brass Knuckles" didn't do as well as his past albums.

Album Spotlight: Mary J. Blige - My Life

I remember when I bought this album as a cassette. I think my mother was more excited than I was. We both fought to take the wrapper off the cassette. At the time Mary J. had released her first single, "Be Happy" and we would hear it on the radio. Mary J. Blige was my favorite singer at the time and she would be for many years to come.
Over the years this album would become a certified R&B classic masterminded by Diddy and Mary J. Blige. At the time Mary J. was battling her personal demons and all of it spills out on this album. We felt her pain and she sung with equal conviction.
The singles from this album aren't any of Mary's biggest singles but alongside "Be Happy", Mary's remake of "I'm Goin' Down" was the second single. The album's third single was "You Bring Me Joy".
I thought it was so odd how this album had 17 songs. There were 11 on side A and side B had 6 which I thought was even more odd.
Some of my favorite songs are "Mary's Joint", "No One Else", "I'm The Only Woman", "I Never Wanna Live Without You", and many more.
Every few years an album of this stature comes along and many of us celebrate it and are reminded of that time of our lives when we first heard and fell in love with an album. Mary J. Blige's "My Life" is no exception. This is one of the albums you must own in your collection.

Mariah Carey Still Mum On Pregnancy Rumors!
Every couple of months or so there are the rumors that Mariah Carey is with child. Well the rumor has reared its head again. This time her husband, Nick Cannon dodges the question and then some. Red more about that below as well as a little news on Mariah's new album and Ciara finally settling on a release date for her new album.Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon have remained mum since rumors began to swirl that singer was pregnant, now one report claims the R&B star is expecting.http://www.accesshollywood.com/report-mariah-carey-four-months-pregnant_article_35965
According to Radar Online, Mariah is four months pregnant. The website reported the couple is not yet publicly talking about the reported pregnancy.
Another Radar source claimed that Nick has been sharing the news only with close friends.
A rep for Mariah was not immediately available for comment when contacted by Access Hollywood on Wednesday.
As previously reported on Access, on Monday, Nick dodged the pregnancy question on his New York radio show, saying, “I’ve said it before and I’ll say it time and time again – when my wife feels like talking about whatever she wants to talk about, you will hear it directly from her.”
Mariah stirred speculation by appearing very pregnant on stage in Brazil this past weekend.
Mariah Carey Plans New Album!
According to Showbiz411.com, Mariah Carey has enlisted the assistance of Broadway composer Marc Shaiman (Hairspray) on her new studio album, which is being produced by Randy Jackson. A five-time Oscar nominee, Shaiman has a history of collaborating with some of the best recording artists, including Bette Midler, recently, on the single "The Greatest Ears in Town," inspired by the late producer Arif Mardin on the album All My Friends Are Here.Ciara Finally Sets Release Date For New Album!
Writes Showbiz411.com: "Mariah told me in an email last week that Shaiman was her favorite collaborator since her days with Walter Afanasieff. 'He's so talented and can hear the chords in my head.'"
This is not the first the theater world is hearing about ties with Carey. An autobiographical Broadway musical, which could potentially star Leona Lewis as Carey, is reportedly in the works.
Mariah Carey became the first recording artist to have her first five singles top the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart. Following her marriage to Mottola in 1993, a series of hit records established her position as Columbia's highest-selling act in the 1990s. Carey has sold more than 175 million albums, singles and videos worldwide. She was named the best-selling female pop artist of the millennium at the 2000 World Music Awards. Carey is also the recipient of the Chopard Diamond Award at the 2003 World Music Awards, recognizing sales of over 100 million albums worldwide. According to the Recording Industry Association of America, she is the third best-selling female artist and sixteenth overall recording artist with shipments of over 63 million albums in the US. She is also ranked as the best-selling female artist of the U.S. Nielsen SoundScan era (third best-selling artist overall). She has the most number-one singles for a solo artist in the United States (eighteen; second artist overall behind The Beatles). In addition to her commercial accomplishments, Carey has earned five Grammy Awards, and most recently received critical praise for her role in Lee Daniel's Oscar-nominated film, Precious.

Album Spotlight: Angie Stone - Black Diamond

I had never heard of Angie Stone prior to her debut solo album, "Black Diamond". Come to find out though she had an extensive background in music that dated back to the late 70s as a rapper. Ange Stone hit it big with her single, "No More Rain(In This Clouds)". When I tell you all that my mother played this song out, she played it out! She played it out to the point that I learned the lyrics to the song. I never cared for the song but it didn't stop me from learning the lyrics. I heard damn near everyday for months at a time.
As much as my mother played "No More Rain", I did manage to hear the rest of the album. One song that always stood out to me and is one of my personal favorites is "Bone 2 Pic(Wit U)". I can't remember a lot of the album but another notable song to check out is "Everyday" which was co-written by Angie's baby daddy, D'Angelo.

Mariah Carey To Be Next "Idol" Judge?
Now that Jennifer Lopez is out, will Mariah Carey be the next American Idol judge? That’s that latest rumor following the recent shake-up over at the hit reality show competition, which recently saw Simon Cowell, Ellen DeGeneres and Kara DioGuadri leaving their posts at the FOX network. The show’s upcoming tenth season was set to feature J. Lo as a judge until her diva demands got her booted from the competish, but now, there’s another diva who’s ready to join remaining judge Randy Jackson on the panel.----------------
“Mariah wants it,” a source tells E! News, adding that her hubbie’s success in primtime has been a big influence. The source also dished that Mimi has seen what America’s Got Talent has done for her man and thinks it would be a “good career move.”
Cannon previously spoke on his wife’s involvement with A.I., telling The Hollywood Reporter that she’s been toying with the decision to join the show as a judge. “She talks about it,” he revealed. “She says, ‘I would love to do that.’ She is one of the greatest singers of our time; she would be great.”

Fantasia Speaks On Suicide Attempt!
Two weeks after being hospitalized for overdosing on aspirin and a sleep aid, singer Fantasia Barrino says it was no accident. She wanted to die.----------------
"I didn't have any fight in me. I didn't care about anything. I just wanted out," the American Idol winner, 26, tells VH1 in a new Behind the Music interview, airing 9 p.m. ET/PT Tuesday, the same day her new album, Back to Me, is released. "At that moment, I wanted out. I wanted it to be over with – all of it, all of that [expletive]."
She continues: "I just sat in the closet and looked at the mirror and took all the pills in the bottle. I wanted to go to sleep and just be at peace. I knew exactly what I was doing. You can't accidentally take a whole bottle of pills."
Barrino's manager, Brian Dickens, recalls finding her lying on the floor in her room. "Her emotions were extremely low," he says. "She'd been crying all day. Fantasia was just numb. Fantasia texted me, saying 'I love you.' I wrote back, 'I love you more.' Then it hit me."
"I wrote, 'You better not do anything or think about doing anything stupid.' And I left it at that. About 10 minutes later, Fantasia texted me back, and she said, 'Already did.' I went into Fantasia's room and saw her on the floor, and my heart just dropped."
What made the successful singer, who's preparing to release her third album, want to end her life? "I was tired of people doing me wrong, constantly, over and over again, dealing with my family – my father, dealing with men and their [expletive] – I was tired," she says. "My head was hurting me. I was over it."

Throwback Video: Busta Rhymes - Put All Your Hands Where My Eyes Can See
This was one of my favorite songs and videos while I was in junior high school. Everytime this song came on, I would want to dance. Album Spotlight: Freddie Jackson - Rock Me Tonight

"Rock Me Tonight" was Freddie Jackson's debut album which was released in 1985. I remember my mother having this album and it is one I clearly remember while growing up.
The album contained four singles and they were all huge R&B hits. The album's first single was the title track. The second single was "You Are My Lady" which is a favorite of mine. The third single was "He'll Never Love You(Like I Do)", and the fourth was "Love Is Just A Touch Away" which is another one of my favorites.
The album contains nine tracks which was normal for a release at this time. More and more we have seen recent R&B albums contain less tracks.

Nicki Minaj Fires Up Official First Single Release!
Nicki Minaj's first single to her upcoming album, "Pink Friday" will be "Right Through Me". The song is said to be controversial. The song is said to debut in two weeks. As far as current single, "Your Love", it is said to appear on "Pink Friday" as a bonus track. Look out for Nicki's debut album in stores and online November 23.
Ronald Isley returns to the music scene with a new album, "Mr. I" which will be online and in stores on September 28. This is kind of surprising given I haven't seen much promo for the album until now. The album's first single is "No More" which recently leaked out. One of the album's perks is a surprising duet with Lauryn Hill. Make sure you be on the look out for that!
Kandi recently revealed that her and producer/friend Jermaine Dupri slept together. I can't say I'm too surprised though given the nature of producers and girl groups. The producer is always banging at least one of the members of the group. We can go all the way back and you find an example in every group.
I just saw the preview for the upcoming season of "The Real Housewives Of Atlanta" which Kandi is a star of. To be honest the preview didn't move me. I will still be watching though. I'm not sure when the show will be on air though.

Missy Elliott To Release New Single!
Missy Elliott recently revealed through her twitter account that her new single, "Blow Ya Whistle" will be dropping soon. Apparently the song is a club banger and will have the walls melting. This will be the first single to her long awaited album, "Block Party". The album has been in the works for quite some time. Hopefully we will get to hear it this time.
Missy may have not dropped an album in over five years but she has stayed pretty busy. She has been writing and producing number 1 hits for Keyshia Cole("Let It Go"), Monica("Everything To Me"), and Jazmine Sullivan("Need U Bad").
As we know Ray J had been working diligently on his new album through his show on VH1. Now the singer has released his supposed first single, "Celebration" which features Ludacris. The singer's new album, "Raydiation 2" will be in stores this fall. Make sure you look out for that as well as the new season of "Brandy & Ray J: A Family Business" which will premiere this October.

Album Spotlight: Babyface - Face2Face

My mother has always been a big fan of Babyface. I remember her owning the album, "Tender Lover" and playing the life out of it. My mother did that a lot with albums and I would eventually do the same thing. In 2001, Babyface released the album, "Face2Face" which was a tad bit different from his usual output. At the time The Neptunes were ruling the airwaves with a variety of hits. It was only right for a veteran act like Babyface to become part of that mix. It is what veteran artists do to stay current. Not only was Babyface a hit making producer himself but he was also a successful singer.
"Face2Face" featured the first single, "There She Goes" which was produced by The Neptunes. They also produce a few other cuts and that title of it is right on the tip of my tongue. The album's second single was "What If" and the video featured actress Sanaa Lathan.
Elsewhere on the album Babyface hooks up with one of my favorite producers, Mike City on "Outside In, Inside Out" which is one of my favorite songs on the album. "Stressed Out" is another favorite. Snoop Dogg guests on "Baby's Mama".
The songs here are more funky and more hard hitting than anything Babyface has ever done. Strangely enough it actually works and makes this a thoroughly enjoyable album.

Tank Reveals New Album Cover For Now Or Never!
Tank gets hot and sweaty for the cover of his new album, "Now & Never". You should have heard his first single by now, "Sex Music" which is a favorite of mine right now. The video for the single was released a little while back. The album is slated to appear in stores November 2.A possible duet with LeToya is said to appear on the album. I'm not aware of much information on the album at this time. When I do find out more info I will definitely let you all know.

Keri Hilson To Release A New Album!
Keri Hilson has a new album on the way and its being called, "No Boys Allowed". I think its kind of odd considering some people think she's a lesbian. I know I do. Not that I care though. Anyway the first single is called, "Breaking Point" and it just leaked out. The response so far hasn't been very good.
There has been a few major release date changes. As if that's surprising. Tank's new album, "Sex Music" will now be released on November 2. On October 5, Ciara's "Basic Instinct" will be released along with Jazmine Sullivan's "Love Me Back", Soulja Boi's "The DeAndre Way", and Faith Evans', "Something About Faith". T.I.'s "King Uncaged" will be released soon as the release date has been delayed. Keep an eye out as these release dates are subject to change.
Mariah Carey is set to release a new Christmas album on November 2. The album is currently untitled. The album will feature six new songs, some covers, and a new mix of her Christmas classic, "All I Want For Christmas Is You". Mariah's Christmas album is the follow-up to her 1994 Christmas album, "Merry Christmas".

Album Spotlight: Tracie Spencer - Make The Difference

I still remember when my mother bought this album. I also remember sitting in front of our stereo and listening to this album and reading the accompanying lyrics.
I'm not sure how many of you remember Tracie Spencer. She got her start in the late 80s and had a brief hit streak in the early 90s. "Make The Difference" was Tracie's second album and it was released in 1991.
The album housed many hits including, "This House", "Love Me", "Save Your Love", and "This Time Make It Funky".
Some of my favorite songs are "I Like That", "I Have A Song To Sing", and "Double O Rhythm".

Album Spotlight: The Isley Bros. - Mission To Please

Before this album, The Isley Bros. were known as a funk band who were popular in the 70s and 80s. Thanks to R. Kelly and his influence of The Isley Bros, he is responsible for bring the group back to prominence. Some of his work with Ronald Isley may have alienated some of The Isley Bros. core fans. In the meantime R. Kelly helped introduce The Isley Bros. to a whole new generation.
I remember gushing about this album and asking my mother to buy it for me. Luckily I received the album as a Christmas gift. It was one of the first CDs I had. This was the same Christmas that I got my first CD boombox. With that new CD boombox, I wanted new CDs to play in it.
The album's first single, "Let's Stay Together" was produced by R. Kelly and featured the producer on backing vocals. Sad to say I really can't remember what other songs were singles. The shortage of singles didn't stop this album from going platinum. It was the first album in a line of future Isley Bros. albums that would be certified either gold or platinum.
"Mission To Please" was released in 1996 and it contained 10 tracks. Many of the songs were co-written and co-produced by Ronald Isley's ex-wife singer, Angela Winbush. There was also production from Babyface & Keith Sweat.
Some of my favorite songs from the album are "Holding Back The Years", "Slow Is The Way", and "Let's Get Intimate".

Erykah Badu Finally Pays Up For Window Seat Video!
Remember the reaction everyone had when we first saw Erykah Badu's "Window Seat" video? Well there was an even bigger reaction from law enforcement when she was fined for $500. The directors believe Erykah wanted to get arrested. What do you think?

Album Spotlight: Mariah Carey - Daydream
I remember having this album a long time ago but I can't remember much about it. Is that a bad thing? Well can't be too bad if I'm spotlighting this album. Released in 1995, Mariah Carey's "Daydream" spawned three hit singles. The album was led by the funky hit, "Fantasy" and the remix featured ODB. Mariah scored the biggest hit of her career(at the time) with "One Sweet Day" featuring Boyz II Men. For the album's third single, Mariah chosen the Jermaine Dupri produced, "Always Be My Baby".
Like all of Mariah's albums, this one was a hit and I believe its certified 4 or 5X platinum.

Music Biz:
Anita Baker Returns With New Album!
R&B icon Anita Baker is set to make fans of her romantic style excited with the forthcoming “21st Century Love,” the artist’s seventh studio album, which will be released soon on Blue Note Records/EMI. The ten track offering lives up to its title, featuring the same classic baby making music that Baker is known for, but with a modern twist. The first single and full tracklisting is expected to be announced soon.http://urbanbridgez.com/ubgblog/2010/08/12/anita-baker-preps-21st-century-love/
Over the past few years, many artists, including Kanye West, Lil Wayne and others have brought Anita’s music and artistry to our current generation, allowing them to discover the beauty of her catalog. Whether mentioning her name and/or songs in lyrics or sampling one of her classic hits, as rap phenom Drake did earlier this year, it is clear that Anita has made an impression on other artists. It is with this spirit that the album title, 21st Century Love, came about and what also inspired her to invite guests Snoop Dogg and Tyrese to be a part of the project.
On “Give Me Your Love,” Anita remakes the classic Curtis Mayfield that was released in 1972 on the soundtrack for the film Super Fly. Anita recalls, “When I was planning on making this record, I was thinking, who is Super Fly these days? And immediately I knew I had to get Snoop on the song.” The other collaboration is also a remake, with Anita’s close friend, actor and R&B star Tyrese, and is a rendition of his first single, “Lately.”

Chris Brown Making Moves With New Single!
Many felt like Chris Brown's career stalled when his last album, "Graffiti" didn't do well. After his performance at this years BET awards, Chris Brown released the single, "Deuces" and the reaction to the song was very positive. The song has been rapidly climbing the charts and it continues to gain. Read more about that below as well as news on a possible Firm reunion and Foxy Brown's indictment.Chris Brown may be hitting his musical stride again. Notching Greatest Gainer/Airplay honors for a second straight week, the singer is this close to notching a top 10 hit on Billboard's Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart with "Deuces." The breakup song-featuring Tyga and Kevin McCall-moves 15-11 in its sixth week on the chart.Foxy Brown Determined To Get The Firm Back Together!
Released to iTunes June 29 along with another new Brown song, "No B.S.," "Deuces" moves 60-59 on the Digital Songs chart. Up 11% in digital sales, the song has sold 132,000, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
"Deuces" also climbs 67-56 on the Billboard Hot 100, marking the singer's return to that tally. Brown last appeared on the Hot 100 last February when "I Can Transform Ya" featuring Lil Wayne and Swizz Beatz ended its tenure, peaking at No. 20. "Transform" peaked at No. 11 on Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs. The track was the lead single from Brown's third album, "Graffiti," which has sold 316,000.
The "Deuces" momentum follows Brown's emotional tribute to Michael Jackson during the BET Awards in June. While singing "Man in the Mirror," the singer broke down, prompting criticism that the meltdown was staged. Without addressing the detractors, Brown has stayed busy recording and tweeting about new music. He recently polished off a remix of Nicki Minaj's "Your Love" and is featured on a new Twista track, "Make a Movie."
Among the top mainstream R&B radio stations spinning "Deuces" in heavy rotation are KBFB Dallas, WHTD Detroit, KKDA Dallas and WPEG Charlotte, N.C., whose OM/PD Terri Avery says positive audience reaction to Brown at the BET Awards has nothing to do with the song's growing success. "The track, the lyrics . . . it's just a good song."
Brown will next appear in the film "Takers," out Aug. 27. There's no official word from Jive as to when his fourth album will be released. The singer has tweeted that his next CD may arrive in 2011 or sooner, possibly preceded by another mixtape, "In My Zone 2."
"We all sat down and conversed," Foxy revealed in an interview. "We all know if it's not the main four, the only four, it can't be. Nas, myself, AZ and Cormega, that is the Firm. There is no other artist that can substitute for Nas, AZ, Cormega and myself. If all four of us can't do it, it can't be done...AZ and myself are inseparable throughout the years. He can walk in my house and go inside the refrigerator, get whatever he wants. Cormega is like my brother. You know Nas, Nas has gone his way. He got married and has gone through his own stuff. I went to prison, lost my hearing. We all just had our lives take different turns. We realized that everywhere we go, people are like, 'The Firm, the Firm.' A was like, 'We gotta do this.' That's when the rumors started."Foxy Brown Indicted For Court Violation!
Rapper Foxy Brown has been indicted on charges of violating an order of protection stemming from a 2007 confrontation with her neighbor in New York City.----------------
Prosecutors say Brown violated the order in July by screaming at neighbor Arlene Raymond before bending over, baring her buttocks at Raymond and showing her underwear while shouting an obscenity.
The 31-year-old Brown was issued the order of protection after pleading guilty in 2008 to menacing Raymond with her cell phone.
The two had been in a dispute over Brown blasting her car stereo outside their Brooklyn building.
The indictment announced Friday charges Brown, whose real name is Inga Marchand, with criminal contempt in the second degree. She could face up to one year in jail.
A lawyer for Brown did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Music Feed: Who's The New American Idol Judges?
No one knows but it has been a big mystery. So many names have been tossed into the fold. Some names seem like hopefuls while others sound as ludicrous as Ellen Degeneres being a judge. The following celebrities below have all been mentioned or considered to be a judge on the upcoming season of "American Idol".
Steven Tyler
The Aerosmith rocker is just one of the many names that has been attached to filling Simon's coveted spot on "American Idol". While no deal is firmly in place, talks of Steven joining the show have run rampant.
Jennifer Lopez
Jennifer Lopez was very close to inking a deal with the "American Idol" producers but FOX recently nixed those plans. Apparently Jennifer Lopez and her demands became way too outrageous. Hello! This is Jennifer Lopez you're talking about. Her demands have always been outrageous.
Mariah Carey
Right after Jennifer Lopez got nixed, Nick Cannon revealed how her former arch nemesis Mariah Carey would like to do the show. What makes FOX think that Mariah's demands wouldn't be just as outrageous as Jennifer's if not more?
Bret Michaels
Bret Michaels was just one of the many names mentioned as a possible replacement for Simon.
Elton John
The outspoken rocker has been mentioned as a possible replacement for Simon.
Howard Stern
Shock radio jock Howard Stern was even considered to be a judge.
Jessica Simpson
I wouldn't mind seeing someone like Jessica Simpson being a judge on "American Idol". I mean she is a good singer. She also has the kook factor down and would come pretty close to what we'd come to expect from Paula Abdul.

Album Spotlight: Faith Evans - Faithfully
Faith Evans released her third album, "Faithfully" in November 2001. The album featured the lead single, "You Gets No Love" which featured Faith rapping. There was also the album's second single, "I Love You" which was originally a song for Jennifer Lopez. Jennifer did co-write the song though. I don't remember the album having a third single. The album did somewhat under perform in terms of what Faith's last two albums did. The album would eventually be certified platinum and was nominated for a Grammy the following year.

Jennifer Lopez Out Of American Idol Running!
So many names have been thrown around to fill the spot for Simon as well as accompanying a whole new judging panel. One of the names tossed around quite a bit was Jennifer Lopez. The singer was in negotiations of inking a deal with the hit show but her demands became too outrageous for the network. Now I'm hearing Mariah Carey wants a shot at the coveted seat. I just wonder what makes Idol think that Mariah Carey's demands want be just as big if not bigger? I mean Mariah Carey is twice the diva Jennifer Lopez is but then again their about the same.
Kanye West will perform at this years MTV's Video Music Awards! Just last year the rapper infamously interrupted Taylor Swift's acceptance speech. The telecast will premiere September 12 and look for Kanye's upcoming album to be released this November.
I wonder what would happen if someone interrupted Kanye's music set or his acceptance speech? I know he'd be ready to whoop somebody's ass and he would never hear the end of it.
I've been keeping everyone pretty up to date with Faith Evans as she had a hell out of a time finding a lead single. The response to her new single, "Gone Already" has been pretty positive. For her new album, "Something About Faith", Faith will offer us a number of collaborations in the form of Mary Mary, Kelly Price, Keyshia Cole, Jessica Reedy(from BET's "Sunday's Best), Redman, and Raekwon(of Wu Tang Clan). Sound interesting?
Expect production from Malik Pendleton(produced Mary J's "Seven Days), Chucky Thompson, Salaam Remi, Mike City, and Carvin & Ivan.

Fantasia's Overdose Linked To Suicide!
Season-three "American Idol" winner Fantasia Barrino has been hospitalized in North Carolina for a drug overdose after an apparent suicide attempt, WBTV reports.
The CBS affiliate cites a police report filed with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg precinct, in which officers were notified late Monday evening by Barrino's manager, Brian Dickens, that something was wrong with the former "Color Purple" star.
According to the police sources, the officers who arrived on the scene reportedly found Barrino in the closet of a home in the Glynmoor Lakes neighborhood. The fomer "Idol" champ was immediately taken to Mercy South Hospital at Carolinas Medical Center in Pineville, North Carolina.
The police report classified Burrino's condition as a "suicide/overdose" and described Barrino as having suffered "possible internal injuries" after she ingested too much medication. The incident is said to be part of an ongoing investigation. A rep for Barrino did not respond to requests for comment at press time.
Barrino was her usual sweet and spunky self when she talked to MTV News last month about the release of her video for "Bittersweet." She spoke proudly of having taken control of creative and directorial decisions during the shoot and enjoying her handsome co-star, Washington Redskins wide receiver Devin Thomas.
"I enjoyed myself, let's just put it like that," Burrino said. "I had a great time. ... He was really nice, which made it a lot easier."
The 25-year-old's post-"Idol" career has had its highs and lows. Burrino's album sales have not met those of other "Idol" alumni, and in 2009, she battled rumors that her home was in foreclosure and Simon Cowell had to bail her out. However, her reality show, "Fantasia for Real," which premiered earlier this year, was a hit for VH1, and a second season is scheduled to start September 19.
Foxy Brown Testifies In Court!
Rambunctious rapper Foxy Brown arrived this morning in Brooklyn Supreme Court court to testify in secret before a grand jury about her latest brush with the law, sources told The Post.
She may call herself "Don Diva," but the singer intends to ditch her in-your-face attitude and tell jurors that she's really just a mama’s girl who's been trying to exorcise the nasty demons of her bad-girl past and now lives in her Prospect Heights brownstone with her mother, a source said.
The sassy singer, whose real name is Inga Marchand, will flatly deny that a stare-down with neighbor Arlene Raymond escalated into a profane tirade and ended with her provocatively mooning the woman, the sources said. She faces felony charges from the July 21 incident.
The latest legal case against the platinum-selling singer has already taken its toll on her creative energies, a source close to Foxy said.
"Foxy can’t even sleep at night. This is truly a nightmare," said the source.
In a 2007 clash with Raymond, Foxy threw her Blackberry at the neighbor. The grand jury is hearing testimony today on charges that the July incident violated a restraining order against Foxy stemming from that 2007 clash which bars her from having any contact with Raymond.
The feisty singer is expected to release a new album, "Black Roses," this fall – a long-delayed recording that has been six years in the making. Brown’s most recent album was the May 2008 "Brooklyn’s Don Diva," an independent release that briefly hit No. 2 on Billboard’s rap albums chart.
