Throwback Video: Paula Abdul - Cold Hearted

I remember how much I used to heart Paula Abdul and I still do. This video brings back a lot of memories for me. It was very sexual especially upon the time of its release and I had to be like six years ago. I think this is one of Paula's best videos. I love everything about it; the choreography, etc. Check it out!

If you haven't heard or read Paula Abdul is rumored to be a judge on the upcoming Americanized version of the UK hit, 'X Factor'. There was also a rumor about her joining 'Dancing With The Stars' or 'So You Think You Can Dance'. I guess we will all have to wait and see.

Ludacris Preps New Album!

Having firmly established himself in the worlds of music, film & television and philanthropy, Ludacris shows no signs of slowing down, releasing his seventh studio album, The Battle of the Sexes, March 9th on DTP/Def Jam. The highly anticipated album's first single, "How Low" is zooming up the music charts and is currently at #1 at Urban Radio, #2 on Billboard's Rap Songs chart and #4 on the Billboard R&B/Hip Hop chart. The remix featuring Ciara and Pitbull is being released on 2/9 on iTunes.

Helping to launch the release of The Battle of the Sexes, it has just been announced that Ludacris will join supergroup The Black Eyed Peas on their The. E.N.D. Brandy To Star In New Reality Show?

Hello everyone! I'm not sure if many people knew this but at one time Brandy was set to star in a new TV show, 'This Little Piggy' to appear on ABC but the show never made the cut. Now the show is being revamped with a new cast and Brandy is not included. Well never fear Brandy is not one to count out. She is reportedly working on her own reality show or it might be a joint one with Ray J; I'm not sure. There have been pictures floating around of her though on a set of what I think is her reality show. If this turns out true this will be Brandy's second reality show; her first was MTV's 'Special Delivery'.

An artist that Brandy has worked with before is Usher. I can't remember if they have actually did music together but Usher did a brief stint on Brandy's TV show, "Moesha". Usher's newest album, 'Raymond v Raymond' has had a lot of setbacks but the album's newest release date is March 30.

Another album to look forward to this year will be the newest album from Rick Ross titled, 'Teflon Don'. One song; 'Mafia Music 2' already leaked and Rick Ross will collaborate again with John Legend for that album among others. Be on the lookout for that!

Mariah Carey Sets Record With New Single!

This year officially marks 20 years since Mariah Carey has made her debut onto the music scene with 'Vision Of Love'. I can truly remember it like it was yesterday. I remember watching the video wondering was this woman white or black? It is nice to have personally witnessed this evolution of Mariah Carey over the years.

Now with 2010 here Mariah Carey is not slowing down as her latest single, 'Up Out My Face' featuring Nicki Minaj debuts on the R&B/Hip-Hop songs chart this week. Read more about that story as well as Mariah's newest album and Omarion's anger with the Grammy's.

Mariah Carey debuts on R&B/Hip-Hop Songs at No. 97 with "Up Out My Face," featuring Nicki Minaj. The song is the fourth charted entry from "Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel," following "Obsessed" (No. 12), "I Want to Know What Love Is" (No. 40) and "H.A.T.E.U." (No. 72). Her "Angels Advocate" remix album streets March 30.

With the new song's launch, Carey extends her R&B/Hip-Hop Songs record among female artists for consecutive years with a debut. She has sent a song onto the chart in each of the 21 years she has appeared on the list, dating to the debut of "Vision of Love" on June 2, 1990.

Among fellow female format luminaries, Gladys Knight debuted on R&B/Hip-Hop Songs each year from 1967 through 1989. The first 22 years of her streak, however, are archived under a group billing - Gladys Knight & the Pips - while her 1989 entry was as a solo act.

Aretha Franklin also maintained a prominent presence on R&B/Hip-Hop Songs in all but one year between 1964 and 1989. Her streak of debuts was interrupted by a lack of new entries only in 1984.
Mariah Carey Pushes Album Back!
After being pushed back from a Feb. 23 release date, Mariah Carey confirmed via her Twitter today (Jan. 28) that her remix album, "Angels Advocate," is now scheduled for March 30.

Carey released two songs this week off the set: a duet of "Angel Cry" with Ne-Yo and "Up Out of My Face" featuring Nicki Minaj. Videos for both songs, directed by Carey and husband, Nick Cannon, hit the web today.

Carey now goes up against Usher, who is set to release his new Jive Records album, "Raymond Vs. Raymond," on the same date. "Angels Advocate" is her 13th studio album and will feature all new remixes and duets of songs off her 2009 release, "Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel."

Carey is currently on her "Angles Advocate" tour, which is set to wrap up on Feb. 27 at the Pearl Concert Theater in Las Vegas.
Omarion Upset Over Michael Jackson Grammy Tribute!
R&B singer Omarion recently spoke on the Grammys' upcoming Michael Jackson tribute and questioned why he is not involved in paying homage to the late singer.

From Omarion's perspective, no other entertainer can match his dancing skills.

"If I'm not a part of that, then that's not... I'm not gonna say it's wack," he says. "But I'm just saying, everyone knows what I do, so if you gon' have an MJ tribute...I take that back because Stevie [Wonder] did an MJ tribute. Everyone loved Michael. I'm not gon' say that. I'm just meaning the performance [aspect]. How you gon' have a Michael tribute without the playboy? [Laughs]. That's my only thing, and I mean this in the humblest and the most competitive way. I'm competitive -- that's what the game is about. Especially after Mike passed away, I feel like the stage, it's more important now. It's a responsibility to me when I hit the stage to not play with it. If you walk back and forth that's cool, too. If that's how you entertain, that's cool, but for the performances and for the dances and for the people that look up to Michael in the fashion I look up to Michael? I hope they bring it. Because if they don't, then I will."

Throwback Video: Carl Thomas - I Wish

I figure I'd take a break from spotlighting the women with throwback videos and show the men some love. Can you believe it has been 10 years since Carl Thomas released his debut single, 'I Wish'. It was from his 2000 Bad Boy debut, 'Emotional'. Check it out!

Not only do I like this song but the video is great; it has a nice storyline; something a lot of videos lack these days.

KeKe Wyatt Releases New Album Cover, Tracklisting!

I just can't say this enough; so many artists are releasing music this year. With that said I hope Truth Hurts, Foxy Brown, and Blu Cantrell release albums as well. A singer who has been off the radar for awhile is KeKe Wyatt. She had an album that she was going to release a few years ago; 'Ghetto Rose' but the album failed to be released. So some of those tracks from that album have made their way onto this new album, 'Who Knew' which will be in stores February 23. The 10 song track listing can be viewed below:
1. Who Knew?
2. Never Do It Again
3. Without You
4. Daydreaming
5. So Confused
6. Weakest
7. Peace on Earth
8. Got Me One (Good Man)
9. Getting It
10. Never Give Up

So many artists are coming back out. Who's next to come out?

Mariah Carey 'Angels Cry' & 'Up Out My Face' Music Video Clips!

Mariah Carey has finally released the videos for her newest singles, 'Angels Cry' featuring Ne-Yo and 'Up Out My Face' featuring Nicki Minaj. Both singles are the lead singles for Mariah's upcoming remix album, 'Angels Advocate' in stores March 23 I believe. I can't even remember the date now since they have changed it so much but be on the look out for it.

As far as the videos are concerned 'Up Out My Face' is very hot and is easily one of my favorites this year. 'Angels Cry' is cool and it reminds me of 'One Sweet Day' and I can see why it was chosen as a single.

Tony Yayo Sounds Off On Rick Ross!

I really didn't see the significance of this interview. Tony Yayo is just talking a bunch of crap about Rick Ross among other rappers. I will let you watch the video to see who else he talks about. He must have a mix tape coming out cause why else is he even doing interviews. No one cares about him like that; I don't think or then again maybe someone does since I'm reporting this news!

Trey Songz 'Neighbors Know My Name' Single Cover!

Trey Songz has managed to do something that is hardly ever accomplished in a R&B artist let alone a R&B album. He has released several singles from his most recent album, 'Ready'. This is surprising considering we're in an era where most R&B albums only get two singles if that. I think he personally could of slowed down on the time span between single choices but I don't have a problem with him milking this album for all its worth. A lot of other artists and labels should follow suit.

Usher 'Hey Daddy' Music Video Preview!

We have been hearing so many of Usher's songs; leaks and false singles. What's really going on is the question? Well 'Hey Daddy' has been on the radio but these other songs including 'There Goes My Baby' and 'Little Freak' are getting radio play too. I guess once his album does come out you all will have heard the majority of it. But at the same time this does give us an indication of what to expect from his album and I see it as being a pretty good album once it is finally released!

Whitney Houston Plans Next International Single!

Hello everyone! Whitney Houston has been pretty quiet here in the states. She's been putting in a lot of work overseas and she continues to. Her next single overseas will be 'Nothin But Love'; which is a personal favorite of mine. The title also serves as the name of Whitney's tour. As far as stateside music is concerned; I've read many different things regarding Whitney's next single. I believe the last thing I read mentioned that 'Worth It' will be her next single; another song I like. Make sure you be on the lookout for that! Whitney will also be honored at this year's BET Honors. Don't ask me the date and time cause right now I can't remember! Sorry!

Speaking of single selection, Jaheim has chosen 'Finding My Way Back' as his second single from his upcoming album, 'Another Round'. The album will be in stores February 9. I can't say I'm big on Jaheim like that but one song I do like from him is from his first album and its called, 'Heaven In Your Eyes'. Boy I love that song!

Amerie, Omarion, Pretty Ricky are just among some of the celebrities who speak out on abstinence. What's really surprising though is that Pretty Ricky of all celebrities is preaching abstinence since their sexuality has always been in your face. But I do praise them for reaching out to the youth. You can click here and check out all the different videos each celebrity took part in.

Young Money Disses Lil' Mama & Lady GaGa!

Around the 6:18 mark you can see where everyone starts talking about Lady GaGa and her sexuality and later on Lil' Mama jumping on stage with Jay-Z. The video is rather lengthy though. Check it out!

Throwback Video: Ashanti - Rock Wit U(Aww Baby)

In the summer of 2003, if you weren't hearing Beyonce's 'Crazy In Love' on the radio; you were hearing Ashanti's 'Rock Wit U(Aww Baby)'. Both songs were infectious and burning up the charts! This is where the comparisons started with Beyonce and Ashanti. The dress that Ashanti is wearing in the water with the elephant is the same dress Beyonce wore in her 'Dangerously In Love' album packaging! Coincidence? I think not!

Ashanti is diligently working on new music which will hopefully be released this year. One song, 'Paradise' is said to be co-written by Tank. A lot of producers are attached to this new album which will be released on Ashanti's own, Written Entertainment label and distributed by Universal. Ready for some new Ashanti music?

Jermaine Jackson Speaks On Michael Jackson's Death!

Do any of you watching 'The Jacksons' show on A&E or whatever channel it comes on? Well I have watched the show a few times. I remember my friends telling me how Jermaine Jackson was always wanting camera time and behaved like a diva. I know whenever Michael was under some type of ridicule; Jermaine was always the first one in the family to speak out. Maybe he was just the designated one of the family to do so. Check out the video as Jermaine talks about his personal feelings regarding Michael and what led to his untimely death.

Melanie Fiona 'It Kills Me' Single Cover!

I'm sure you've heard the song. It's the #1 R&B song in America for a few weeks now and it belongs to Canadian born singer Melanie Fiona. Her debut album, 'The Bridge' has been in stores for awhile now. The song itself has been out for awhile but I just got a hold of the single cover and for some reason Melanie is reminding me of someone else; I just can't put my finger on it right now though.

Music Feed: Songs About Players

These playa(er)s just got exposed! No more hiding! No more lying! It's all out in the open! Whoever these people in question are; the artists below let them have it or in some cases salute them for playing the game. Get into these songs that are dedicated to playa(er)s all over the world and beyond!

Playas Gon Play, 3LW

3LW were some fast little hussies if you ask me. Before they turned all Disney on us via The Cheetah Girls, 3LW were putting cheating men in their places.

Play On Playa, Nas featuring Snoop Dogg
Nas caused quite a controversy when he named his album, 'Hip Hop Is Dead'. One of the more lighter songs on the album was 'Play On Playa' which featured a guest rap from Snoop Dogg.

Player's Anthem, Junior Mafia
I believe this was the debut single from Junior Mafia which was led by Biggie. Though Junior Mafia is simply their own entity; I can't help but to notice how Young Money reminds of Junior Mafia.

Don't Wanna Be A Player, Big Pun featuring Joe
Big Pun was crushing so much; he got tired and he wanted to put his player ways behind him. It happens to every man at one point in their life.

Death Of A Playa, Aaliyah
Aaliyah was said to have wrote this tale of a playa and his playa ways eventually catching up to him and causing his death.

Playa, Sterling Simms
A lot of people don't know Sterling Simms but he had one of my favorite albums last year. He quietly released his debut on Def Jam records almost two years ago. But more importantly Sterling Simms appeared on Jay-Z's 'Kingdom Come' album. And the song 'Playa' is no different than other song about a playa.

Ludacris Prepares For 'Battle Of The Sexes' Album!

Ludacris' 'Battle Of The Sexes' album; a planned duet album with Shawnna has been in the works for awhile. After a fallout with Shawnna for whatever reason; Shawnna has signed with T-Pain's Nappy Boy Records. So now Luda has been forced to X out Shawnna and replace her with a who's who list of women in Hip-Hop to fill out this album. Read below to find out more about the album as well as stories on Trina's adoption and Chris Brown's tribute.

Lil’ Kim, Eve, Trina, and Nicki Minaj are among those getting in the ring with the Grammy winner on his seventh studio album Battles of the Sexes, due March 16. Previously planned as a joint album with femcee Shawnna, the set will also include appearances from Ne-Yo, Ciara, Flo Rida, and Plies.
Trina To Adopt Haitian Child!
“The tragic and untimely list of events that have happened in Haiti–even before the recent “Earthquake”– have made me realize how blessed I am as an individual. I want to share that with a child who is a victim in this disturbing time, in addition to adding on to my immediate family circle."

"I am in the financial position to adopt, therefore, I am taking it into deep consideration at this time. I have always admired other individuals for adopting children not so much for their celebrity status, but more so because of the nurturing and invaluable change and joy it will bring to a child's life."

"Lastly, the fact that I am considering adopting a child from Haiti is even more significant to me because a great deal of adopted children come into the United States from larger countries–like China, Russia and African countries. I also have family members that are of Haitian descent."
Chris Brown Joins 'Help For Haiti' Tribute!
The 3-hour long event will take place on February 5th at the American Airlines Arena, Miami, Florida and will be hosted by Queen Latifah and Sean “Diddy” Combs. Help for Haiti will air live on BET, MTV, VH1 and Centric at 8pm (EST) and guests scheduled to appear are: Robin Thicke, Mary J Blige, Ciara, Ludacris, Pharrell Williams, Justin Bieber and Chris Brown (to name a few). All proceeds will benefit organizations such as Yéle Haiti, CARE and Project MediShare.

Tickets will be available at the American Airlines Arena box office and Ticketmaster.com.

As well as the Help for Haiti concert, Chris is supposedly set to make an appearance at Justin Combs’ Sweet 16 birthday party tonight. The Combs’ have requested that in place of giving gifts, guests should donate their money towards the Haiti relief efforts instead. The guest list is said to include Diddy’s group – Dirty Money, Snoop Dogg, Lil’ Kim, Jay-Z and Beyoncé.

Throwback Video: Adina Howard - Nasty Grind

Adina Howard may of never exhibited the same success as some of her peers but in the R&B community she forever lives on. She has had a lot of urban hits and a lot of those songs were about sex; its her stock in trade and no other singer can pull it off like she has. I remember when this video first came out. I was so surprised to see her grinding and half dressed but then again what do you expect from Adina Howard?

I'm not sure what Adina Howard is up to these days but she should come back soon.

Trina Pushes Up Release Date For New Album!

Good news! It is not very often when an album is pushed up. Instead of the June 8 release date, Trina will release her long awaited album, 'Amazin' a month earlier; May 4. Trina recently conducted an interview online and she gushed about all the collaborations for the new album including Lady GaGa[on 'Let Them Hoes Fight], Nicki Minaj[on 'Dang A Lang'], Lyfe Jennings, Ludacris, Plies, Monica[on 'I Want It All'], Rick Ross, and Trey Songz. Trina also mentioned one of her favorite songs 'Capricorn' which she describes as a poetic track in the vein of Lauryn Hill. Sounds interesting huh? I'm eager to hear how this album will shape up.

Not only will Rick Ross be appearing on Trina's new album; he will be releasing another album sometime this year I'm assuming. I'm not really sure. I did read though that his new album will be called, 'Teflon Don' and a song recently leaked entitled, 'Mafia Music 2'. What is with Rick Ross and all these part twos to songs?

Monica has had so many setbacks with upcoming album, 'Still Standing' its not even funny. Her new single, 'Everything To Me' leaked out and has gotten a great response for the most part. Now I was reading about people commenting that the song was not long enough. The song was originally made short to evoke the same length a lot of classic records featured which was under three minutes. It seems to me like Monica is trying to hard to please everybody and you simply cannot. I think they should of just did the single edit of the song like they planned and the album version could be extended if need be.

Michael Jackson Tribute To Appear On Grammy Telecast!

Of course every award show; music wise is going to honor Michael Jackson and why shouldn't they. I can't say I'm too excited about watching the Grammy's. I do watch it but I just hate how all the black categories are televised before the actual show. That always sucks. I think the red carpet sometime is more entertaining. Read more about Michael's tribute as well as stories on the return of the Ruff Ryders and Beyonce's babies.

This year, Jackson will be a focal point of the show, with an unprecedented posthumous tribute. The Grammys will broadcast a 3-D clip the singer made for his hit "Earth Song," a video that was to be integral to his comeback concerts in London in July 2009 - shows that never happened because of his June 25 death in Los Angeles.

Usher, Celine Dion, Carrie Underwood, Jennifer Hudson and Smokey Robinson will perform alongside the clip, which Ehrlich says will be the first time an awards show will feature 3-D.

Viewers can get free 3-D "Grammy" glasses from Target stores nationwide from Jan. 24 through Jan. 31, when the 52nd annual Grammy Awards will air live from the Staples Center in Los Angeles on CBS (8 p.m. EST). Ehrlich says TV viewers can see the clip without the glasses, but won't see the 3-D effect.
Ruff Ryders Reunite For New Album!
Ruff Ryders CEO Waah Dean has confirmed that a Ruff Ryders album entitled "Ruff Ryders Evolution: Generation I" is in the works and pretty much completed. Swizz Beatz, Eve, The LOX, DMX, Drag-On along with new comers to the Ruff Ryders camp are all set to make appearances on the compilation.

"The compilation is pretty much finished and we’re looking to knock it out and have it up and running at the end of 2nd, beginning of 3rd quarter. We got a couple of nice joints. It’s gonna be a mixture of the old and new… we got this joint called “Family.” We got a remix on it too and we want to launch the compilation with that. It’s expressing a lot of how families should move and how they should roll.

We’re gonna feature our established artists, new artists and we’re gonna remix it and just really unify the family thing, bring back the foundation. We have collaborations

songs that we did with The Lox and Cassidy and we get a song from each artist and let them express themselves. I’s gonna be a decent album, we’re gonna do that one independent and we may even take it upstairs (to major label) to do that on a whole other level. This album is really going to be about coming together."The Ruff Ryders reunion album doesnt have a set release date at this time, but is said to release 2nd or 3rd quarter of this year.

Beyonce Loses Sasha Fierce Ego!
Grammy-winning singer Beyonce has announced that she no longer needs to rely on her artistic alter ego, "Sasha Fierce."

In addition to speaking on her past split personality, Beyonce addressed one day having a child with husband and rapper Jay-Z.

"The thing that's interesting is I don't need Sasha Fierce anymore, because I've grown," she said in an interview, "and I'm now able to merge the two. I want people to see me. I want people to see who I am...I always say, 'I don't want to lose my curves,' I like firm curves. You can never do enough squats, you can never do enough sit-ups. But as far as losing too much weight or building too much muscle -- I like for women to look feminine...I definitely want to have a child, but I know from my nephew it's a lot. I hope that those things will just happen naturally. I still haven't had time to relax."

Throwback Video: Faith Evans - Ain't Nobody

I can still remember the day an old friend of mine came over to my house with Faith Evans' debut album and he was playing it in his Walkman. He let me hear the album and he gushed about how good it was and he was right. Faith's debut album is a classic and 'Ain't Nobody' was one of the singles from that album. Check out the vid!

Faith is said to be returning to music this year after a five year absence. Boy does time go by fast. I really glad that she is returning because it has been a long time coming.

Mary J. Blige 'Hard Times Come No More' Live Performance!

Last night if you were home or out; like I was you may have or may not have seen the Haiti benefit concert. One of the most emotionally charged performances came from Mary J. Blige and to that it is no surprise. There were plenty other performances but this was one of the most popular and talked about; so I heard. So if you haven't seen it check it out!

Mario 'Ooh Ooh Baby' Music Video Clip!

I think this would make a good single for Mario but I'm not sure I knew it was actually a single. It is a shame that Mario's 'D.N.A.' album fell on dear ears; it is a good album. It was one of the few albums I actually bought this year. Yea I still buy them from time to time.

Some people are saying this video looks a little soft porn-ish and much like Trey Songz' 'I Invented Sex'. What do you think?

Dru Hill Returns With New Album, Reality Show!

The new Dru Hill album and reality show have been in the works for a few years actually. Over the years Sisqo had a solo career and starred in a couple of other reality shows. The other member attempted to jump start solo careers or work behind the scenes. Now the group is back together and you can read below about that as well as Beyonce's performance and a sex tape from a Day 26 member!

A reunited Dru Hill is one step closer to releasing a new album.

According to Billboard, the group has signed a deal with Kedar Entertainment, where they plan to release the anticipated album "InDRUpendence Day" April 13.

Set to air on Centric later this year, "Sweat's Platinum House" will chronicle Dru Hill's return to the studio and interactions between members Sisqo, Nokio, Jazz and the group's latest addition Tao.
Beyonce Added To Haiti Tribute Concert!
Beyoncé has been added to the bill for the "Hope for Haiti Now: A Global Benefit for Earthquake Relief" telethon, airing Friday at 8 p.m. ET/PT, upping the star wattage for the already massive event.

The singer will join husband Jay-Z, Rihanna and U2's Bono and The Edge in London to help raise funds for Haiti in the wake of last week's devastating 7.0-magnitude earthquake. Justin Timberlake, Bruce Springsteen, Taylor Swift, Mary J. Blige and more artists will also perform during the two-hour telecast.

George Clooney, who helped organize the event with MTV Networks, will helm the proceedings in Los Angeles, while Wyclef Jean and CNN's Anderson Cooper will join in from New York and Haiti, respectively.

A number of notable acts have confirmed their participation for the telethon, which will air commercial-free across MTV, VH1, ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX, CNN, BET, the CW, HBO, CMT, PBS, TNT, Showtime, Comedy Central, Bravo, E! Entertainment Network, National Geographic Channel, Oxygen, G4, Centric, Current TV, Fuse, MLB Network, Epix, Palladia, SoapNet, Style, Discovery Health and Planet Green. Canada's CTV, CBC Television, Global Television and MuchMusic also will air "Hope for Haiti," as will BET International, CNN International, National Geographic and MTV Networks International, making the event available in 640 million homes worldwide.
Day 26 Singer Releases Sex Tape!
Day 26 singer/songwriter Willie Taylor is ready to make Valentine's Day a special day for music fans. Set to release his anticipated mixtape, titled "Sex Tape," Taylor hopes the release will become "a soundtrack to your bedroom".

"I am extremely excited about this project as the main purpose of the mixtape is to showcase my abilities as a songwriter and bring awareness to the launch of my label Noivak Music Group," says Taylor. "I want this album to be known as the soundtrack to your bedroom."

Set to be released on his official website NoivakMusic.com, "Sex Tape" features production from B. Simms, Steve Huff, Fred "The Champ" Crawford and Rex.

"I personally feel that Willie has officially changed the standard of a "mixtape". This will be played for years to come," adds Screwface, Manager for DAY26.

Two songs from the forthcoming release have been burning up music related sites online, including the sexy cut "Knock It Out The Park" and "Sex Conversation."

"Sex Tape" is due for release February 14, 2010 via Noviak Music Group.

Music Feed: Movie Soundtrack Songs

Not only do we love these classic movies! We also like the songs featured in these movies. Most importantly these songs are featured on the movie's perspective soundtracks. The songs listed below are not just average songs; they are all classic and absolutely forgettable. Who would of thought?

Life, K-Ci & Jo Jo
From Life
R. Kelly was the mastermind behind the entire 'Life' movie soundtrack album and the title track performed by K-Ci & Jo Jo was a hit as it was catchy. The song also produced other hits including Maxwell's 'Fortunate'.

A Thin Line Between Love & Hate, H-Town
From A Thin Line Between Love & Hate
The Martin Lawrence movie featured this title tune which was a remake by the group The Persuaders.

Again, Janet Jackson
From Poetic Justice
Janet Jackson not only starred in 'Poetic Justice'; she sang the signature tune to the movie which resulted in an Academy Award nomination for 'Best Song'.

All The Things(Your Man Won't Do), Joe
From Don't Be A Menace

I Will Always Love You, Whitney Houston
From The Bodyguard
The impact this song had on America is absolutely undeniable. You would of never thought this song was a remake! Whitney clearly made this song hers; no doubt about it!

Exhale(Shoop Shoop), Whitney Houston
From Waiting To Exhale
Whitney not only did it once she did it twice and numerous times after. After retiring somewhat from full length albums, Whitney seldom would record unless it was for a soundtrack to a movie in which she starred.

Give U My Heart, Toni Braxton & Babyface
From Boomerang
This is the song that introduced us to Toni Braxton if I'm not mistaken. This was before her debut; just when she signed to LaFace records.

Throwback Video: 702 - Gotta Leave

I miss 702 and I really think they were a great girl group. No they were not as big as TLC or Destiny's Child but they had a handful of hits and managed to release three albums. 'Gotta Leave' isn't their biggest hit but it was one of their last videos before they disbanded. The song is from their 1999 self-titled album. Check it out!

I hope they do a reunion or something. I know lead singer Kameelah Williams has done background vocals for Faith Evans. I don't know about the other singers. I don't think their doing anything so that's more of a reason to come back together to fill that void.

News Flash! Alicia Keys Hits Platinum With New Album!

As if it were a surprise to anyone. I will admit I was nervous for her for a minute. Her singles hadn't exactly set the charts on fire but her name alone equals album sales. And with with the Beyonce, 'Put It In A Love Song' as her next single Alicia will be hitting the two million mark in no time.

Alicia Keys isn't the only artist celebrating a recent album certification. Mary J. Blige's latest album, 'Stronger With Each Tear' has been certified gold. Alicia Keys and Mary's newest album have been selling pretty consistently so the certifications were expected. Congrats to both women!

Adrienne Bailon of 3LW and The Cheetah Girls will release her debut album sometime this year on Island Def Jam. Production comes in the form of Ne-Yo and Rodney Jerkins. I like Adrienne Bailon. So I will look to see what she hits us with.

Omarion will be the new judge for MTV's 'America's Best Dance Crew'. He will replace Shane Sparks who got caught up in a child molestation stuff awhile back.

News Flash! Mariah Carey Releases Two New Singles!

Hello everyone! Mariah Carey is releasing her 'Angel's Advocate' album on February 23. The album is preceded by singles, 'Angels Cry' featuring Ne-Yo and 'Up Out My Face' featuring Nicki Minaj. Both songs will be shipped to radio on January 26. A video for both songs have been shot already. Screen caps of the videos have leaked out as well too. 'Up Out My Face' looks to be a pretty interesting video. I'm eager to see that.

Speaking of new album, Omarion's new album, 'Ollusion' debuted on the pop charts at #19 with 19,000 units. Not bad huh? I don't think anyone was expecting a huge debut anyway.

Jamie Foxx will release his new album on March 23. A few songs have leaked out online including 'Speak French' which I haven't heard but the working title for the album is 'Body'. I'm not sure if that has changed or not but be on the lookout for that.

Remember Donell Jones? Well he was formerly signed to Arista then Jive Records but now he is reportedly independent now. He recently released 'The Lost Files' album which is a compilation of unreleased songs from over the years. As far as a new studio album, Donell will be releasing an album later this year with his new single debuting in March. Be on the lookout for that!

Ludacris 'How Low' Music Video Clip!

This song just went top 10 on the Pop charts and its already on fire on the R&B charts. Now here is the video for new Ludacris single from the upcoming album, 'Battle Of The Sexes' in stores March 2.

As you know the 'Battle Of The Sexes' album has been in the works for a few years. The album was going to be a duet album with rapper Shawnna but I guess her and Luda fell out for whatever reason. It had been reported that Shawnna had signed with T-Pain's Nappy Boy records. I'm surprised at the move on Shawnna's part cause last time I checked T-Pain is not hot right now or anymore for that matter. Nothing against Shawnna cause I am a fan. I know Shawnna and Luda fell out before too over this. Now in place of Shawnna the album will feature rumored duets with Lil' Kim and Nicki Minaj among others.

Music Feed: Remakes, Cover Songs, & Renditions

For a time; specifically in the late 90s a lot of artists were covering songs left and right. It was pretty overwhelming at one point. There have been some great remakes and some not so great. Some songs you just don't touch. And if you dare cover a song; you better do the original justice or make it your own. Those are the rules! Follow them!

Check out this list of songs that have been remade over the years.

Endless Love, Diana Ross & Lionel Richie
Remade by Luther Vandross & Mariah Carey
This song is considered a classic and people are very sensitive about artists remaking classics but you can't go wrong with Luther and Mariah.

If Only You Knew, Patti Labelle
Remade by KeKe Wyatt
You'd be a fool to remake a Patti Labelle song and not possess the powerful pipes that Ms. Labelle possesses? Well in KeKe Wyatt's case she can and has pulled of a classic Patti Labelle song and it goes down as a favorite among many.

I'm Goin' Down, Rose Royce
Remade by Mary J. Blige
Over the years Mary J. Blige has covered many songs and each song she takes on; she clearly makes it her own. If your not familiar with Rose Royce they performed the song, 'Car Wash' which was also the title of the 70s hit film starring the late Richard Pryor.

I Feel For You, Prince
Remade by Chaka Khan
You have to be really knowledgeable of music to know this song is a remake. Most would assume that Chaka was the original artist for this song but she is not. When Prince made the song; it wasn't a hit and it was much slower in tempo.

The Beautiful Ones, Prince
Remade by Mariah Carey & Dru Hill
I could of done a separate post on all the Prince songs remade over the years and I just might. Mariah covered this song on her 1997 'Butterfly' album and it is one of my favorites.

Love Don't Live Here Anymore, Rose Royce
Remade by Faith Evans & Mary J. Blige
If you were to buy or hear Faith Evan's debut album now; you might just hear her on vocal duty for 'Love...' since Mary J. Blige asked to have her vocals removed after a fallout with Faith and Diddy. This song has also been covered by Madonna and a slew of other artists who just won't register in my head right now.

Throwback Video: Foxy Brown - Hot Spot

I thought long and hard about the perfect throwback video to post. Judging by my choice most people would think I didn't give it any thought by featuring Foxy Brown. Yes, she is my favorite female rap artist and will always be. We all remember 'Hot Spot' right? It was the debut single from her second album, 'Chyna Doll'. Check out the video below!

Foxy caught a lot of flack for this video being that her stomach wasn't exactly flat. That just goes to show how unabashed Foxy is. She never really gave a damn anyway. Also her biting Lil' Kim's style or her flow more so rubbed a lot of people the wrong way. The 'Chyna Doll' album still went platinum nonetheless. Foxy is still working on that long awaited, 'Black Roses' album which hopefully will find a release date this year.

News Flash! Kelly Rowland Signed To Universal Motown?

Hello everyone! The latest rumor circulating in the music world is that Kelly Rowland has signed to Motown Universal Records; home of Lil' Wayne. There were rumors that the singer was seen exiting the Motown Universal Records offices. Who knows? Good luck and congratulations to Kelly since we don't know the truth just yet. It is funny though how many moves Kelly is making since she parted ways from Mathew Knowles. I feel this was the only way for her to truly grow and realize her full potential anyway.

Last year twitter was not only one of the most talked about social networking sites but it also became a playground for musicians to air out frustrations with one another, the media, and fans. The latest twitter episode comes in the form of Bow Wow who is mad at his mother for joining twitter. The rapper lashed out and wants his mother to remove her page and doesn't want his fans following her. Isn't that something? I guess parents just can't be cool, no matter what they do.

Speaking of Bow Wow he was at one time rumored to be apart of Young Money but he's in fact apart of Cash Money which is different from Young Money believe it or not. Now to the subject of Young Money their next single is 'Roger That' from their recently released album, 'We Are Young Money'. Be on the lookout for that!

Another one bites the dust. Toni Braxton has pushed back her upcoming album, 'Pulse' to May 4. The album is preceded by the single, 'Yesterday' featuring Trey Songz. The song managed to peak at #12 on the R&B charts. A lot of songs from Toni has leaked and that also plays a big part in the push back. Good riddance!

Waka Flocka Flame Shot!

Today rumors have been flying regarding Atlanta rapper Waka Flocka Flame and a shooting and robbery in College Park.

Although details are just beginning to circulate, Twitter and other social networks are all buzzing about the shooting and speaking on their opinions.

According to sources, Flocka was shot in the arm and a bullet traveled to his chest while he was robbed of his chain in College Park, GA.

When HHW contacted So Icey ENT, a representative responded with the classic line “No comment” confirming the shooting. (A simple "No" would have done fine if it were not true.)

HHW will update you on the latest on Waka Flocka when more information circulates.

For those who don't know, Waka Flocka Flame is the right hand man of Gucci Mane who is growing in popularity throughout the south.
KeKe Wyatt Returns With New Album!
She brought us hits such as 'Nothing In This World' and 'My First Love' which also featured duet partner Avant. Now with a new album and a new label, KeKe Wyatt will release, 'Who Knew?' on February 23. The album is preceded by first single, 'Who Knew?' and the newest single, 'Got Me One(Good Man)'. Below you can check out the tracklisting.
1. Who Knew?
2. I'll Never Do It Again
3. Without You
4. Daydreaming
5. So Confused
6. Weakest
7. Got Me One (Good Man)
8. Peace On Earth
9. Gettin it (re-mix)
10. Never Give Up
This is one of the few albums I am looking forward to this year. 'Who Knew' is one of my favorite songs so far this year and I hope she delivers with this album.

Jennifer Hudson Recording New Album!

Look out! Jennifer Hudson is back to blow away the competition; well soon enough anyway. Jennifer is hard at work on a new album. Read below for more info as well as news on T.I. and Ashanti's new album.

Jennifer Hudson is back in the studio recording a follow up to her Grammy Award-winning self-titled debut.

Reuniting with Stargate, the same producers behind the smash single "Spotlight," sources say Hudson is turning out new material like water, including three songs with the noted team.

While a release date has not been set for the project, it is believed to be on tap for release later this year, with additional contributions from Claude Kelly and Ne-Yo.

Hudson's self-titled debut arrived in stores Fall 2008, spawning the singles "Spotlight," "If This Isn't Love" and "Giving Myself".
T.I. Plans New Album!
Jim Jonsin, who helped take Tip to No. 1 with “Whatever You Like,” will once again be involved with the project. Jonsin recently spoke with the rapper upon his release to an Atlanta correctional facility after serving seven months behind bars on weapons charges.

According to the producer, the King of the South hasn’t let lockdown dampen his spirits. “It doesn’t seem like he missed a beat,” he exclusively tells Rap-Up.com. “He was so upbeat, his spirits were up, and he’s excited to be out and working. He hasn’t changed, he sounded exactly like he did when I talked to him months before he went in.”

T.I. hit the ground running and is already in the studio crafting the follow-up to 2008’s multi-platinum Paper Trail. “He’s back in the studio. I sent him some music via email,” Jonsin reveals. “He can work during the week and not on the weekend, I believe. He’s definitely working on an album for this year right now.”

The project’s direction is still up in the air. “That’s really going to be determined by him. We’re supposed to get together or talk more about it soon,” Jonsin shares. “But his last album was great and his sound already does really well, so I wouldn’t see him changing too much.”
Ashanti Taps David Guetta For New Album!
David Guetta is about to become one busy bee this year. In addition to producing on upcoming projects for Madonna, Britney Spears, Kelly Rowland, and Lady GaGa, the dance DJ can now add the upcoming albums by R&B songstress Ashanti and cheesy balladeer Celine Dion to his ever-expanding resume.

There’s been rumours for months now that Ashanti has been eager to try a more international pop-based sound on her comeback album and Guetta’s addition seems to prove it, but I wouldn’t quite write off urban music just yet with R&B producer-artist Tank also recently being added to Ashanti’s production line-up.

News Flash! Kelis Shoots Video For New Single!

Hello everyone! Kelis is one of the many artists releasing albums in 2010. Her new album, 'Fleshtones' will be released this spring. Her first single, 'Acapella' leaked awhile back and now Kelis is reportedly shooting the video. So be on the lookout for that.

Another artist making their long awaited return to music is Faith Evans. Before her new album hits stores later this year, she will be releasing a mixtape. She is also recording some reality TV show that has yet to be revealed. I also found out that she has recently collaborated with T.I., David Banner, and MC Lyte. Be on the lookout for new Faith music this year.

Expect new music from Kelly Rowland later this year. The artist who is nominated for a few Grammy's this year for her part in the song, 'When Love Takes Over' will perform at this years Grammy's telecast which is airing January 31. As far as the new Kelly album expect production from Toby Gad[worked with Beyonce] and Babyface.

Rihanna will appear on 'Oprah' tomorrow January 20. You know Oprah means sales so you can expect a huge increase in sales for Rihanna's latest album, 'Rated R' which recently was certified gold.

Jennifer Lopez Opens Up 'Lopez Tonight' Show!

Jennifer Lopez opened up the 'Lopez Tonight' show which is usually opened up by its host George Lopez. Check out Jennifer's entrance and opening monologue.

Jennifer's releasing her new album, 'Love?' this spring. The first single is still 'Louboutins' but personally I think she should switch it up. The reception to the song has been mediocre. She actually made more noise with the buzz single, 'Fresh Out The Oven' with Pitbull.

Mariah Carey Speaks On Mary J. Blige Collaboration!

If you haven't read or heard already, Mariah Carey will be releasing a remix album titled, 'Angel's Advocate'. The remix album is from Mariah's most recent album, 'Memoirs Of An Imperfect Angel' which was recently certified gold(shipments of 500K units). One of the many collaborations on the album is 'It's A Wrap' featuring Mary J. Blige. Read below for more info on the collabo as well as Nicki Minaj's latest features and Fantasia's new album!

As you may remember, we first broke the news about Mary J. Blige being featured on Mariah's upcoming Remix album, Angels Advocate. In last night's show at the MGM Grand at Foxwoods in Mashantucket, Connecticut, Mariah confirmed during her spiels before performing "It's A Wrap" that indeed Mary J. will be on the album and featured on the remixed version of the song.

"This next song, this is about, basically, relationships. We're dealing with relationships here. It's like when you've waited all night long for somebody to come home and they finally come home, and it's the morning and... you yourself are like, 'Where is this MF'er?' In a difficult situation... but I'm talking about a serious subject here. This is a serious situation that I'm talking about. This is from, well I told you we're remixing the album and I'm singing this with Mary J. Blige and I'm really excited about it. But right now I'm gonna do it alone. It's called 'It's A Wrap.'"
Nicki Minaj To Appear On New Jennifer Lopez Album!
With Wayne's blessings, Minaj has released three mixtapes since 2007, all featuring guest appearances from her label chief. "When I heard him say my name it was such an OMG moment for me," Minaj says of their first collaboration, a remake of Young Gunz' "Can't Stop, Won't Stop." "I wasn't big enough for someone of that caliber to notice. I didn't think it was my time yet. It was very surreal."

Now, as she prepares her solo debut, Minaj continues to show the world what the fuss is all about, working with Usher,[SIZE="4"] Jennifer Lopez, Keri Hilson,[/SIZE] Bobby Valentino and Ludacris. She also appears on the Young Money album "We Are Young Money," released Dec. 21 and distributed through Universal Motown.

But she still remains humbled by all the opportunities and the accolades. "I never thought I would be one of the girls in that elite female rap group," she says. "I'm just as shocked as everyone else."
Fantasia Plans New Album!
American Idol season 3’s soulful winner, Fantasia Barrino, plans to make 2010 her year, and that starts by releasing a brand new album.

In a new interview with ABC News’ Beyond the Red Carpet, the 25-year-old singer talks about the new set that will be her first album in three years. “It’s been three years too long,’ Fantasia told host Darius Brown. “Music is my everything, so I have put my heart, my soul, and all of my time into this album.”

Fantasia’s last album was widely criticized for its, to put it lightly, weak first single, “Hood Boy.” The second single, “When I See You,” was a hit, helping the album rebound somewhat.

Music has always been an outlet for the single mother with an 8-year-old daughter to escape, and this album is no different.
In a new song called “Overload,” she talks about her hectic life in the last three years. “I remember going into the studio that night after I was getting so many phone calls. Mom was calling me about different people showing up. Sheriffs, lawsuits, and they said this, and they said that. My family needed this — I went in and I did ‘Overload.’”

Besides saying the album would be out this year, there is no set date for its release.

Janet Jackson Appears On Gotham Magazine!

Janet doesn't even have an album out so why in the hell is she on a magazine cover? Simple. She's Janet Jackson. In the article Janet talks about her late brother Michael and her upcoming album. I read that Janet's new album is supposed to be released second quarter of this year so we will see. I know Rodney Jerkins is working on the album but I hope Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis is back on board. Personally I can do without Rodney even though my favorite songs on 'Discipline' were the ones he produced. I just don't care for him too much.

Kelly Rowland Talks Susan Boyle Collaboration!

Susan, 48, has been offered the chance to record a duet with American superstar Kelly Rowland, who tells us she is a huge fan of the Scottish sensation.

The former Destiny’s Child singer says: “I would love to sing with her. I’m not saying Susan is a better singer than me, everyone has their own style, but I think our voices would complement each other well.

“Each time she sings I’m flabbergasted. Also, her life story makes me cry. Susan is an inspiration. By selling three million albums in six weeks she is proof that if you give people good music, they will buy it.”

Kelly has a new album of her own out soon and with three Grammy nominations for her latest single When Love Takes Over, she has finally stepped out of the shadow of her former bandmate Beyoncé.

Kelly tells us at the PokerStars amFar charity tournament in Bahamas: “We owe it to our fans to tickle their fancy with new and different material.”

News Flash! Faith Evans Plans New Album!

Hello everyone! Let me just start by saying I do post a variety of stories that are true, rumored, or just pure gossip. It doesn't mean I believe it. I'm just keeping you all up-to-date about what's going on music wise.

Faith Evans has been pretty quiet lately except for a maybe a few little spot dates here and there. Well the First Lady of Hip-Hop & R&B is poised to return this year with a new album. There is no set release date but I read possibly the second quarter. Producers are said to include Chucky Thompson(if you don't know who he is; look him up) and David Banner among others. I was just listening to Faith's past albums and thinking its been five long years. I really can't wait til Faith comes back out.

Alicia Keys will release the Beyonce duet, 'Put It In A Love Song' as her next single. It will be the third single from her recently released album, 'The Element Of Freedom'. Are you surprised by this decision? Looks like that Beyonce break won't be happening! Oh yea and the song will be added to radio January 19.

One artist that has been missing in action for awhile is Eve. She has been pretty quiet musically but she recently left longtime label, Interscope Records. Now that she is label less it hasn't stopped her from recording a new album now titled, 'Lip Lock'. What's with these titles though Eve? Before this it was 'Flirt' and before that it was 'Here I Am'. With these sort of titles I'm expecting the album to be bubblegum-ish. I guess time will tell.

Music Feed: Songs About Alcohol

And I am sure there are plenty more songs I forgot but those listed below came to my head immediately.

Blame It, Jamie Foxx
There was no escaping this song last year and it makes perfect sense especially if you are a normal club goer. Jamie Foxx went all the way to #1 and #2 on both the R&B and Pop charts. Remember the video? It was like a who's who in Hollywood! Who wasn't in there?

Drunk, Tweet
Do you all remember Tweet? She's been pretty quiet lately but I read she is poised to return this year with new music. One of her obscure songs on her 'Southern Hummingbird' album is 'Drunk' and the song goes for a very moody and lazy feel. It does a good job capturing that alleged 'drunk' feeling.

One More Drink, Ludacris featuring T-Pain
One of Ludacris' and T-Pain's many hits.

Buy U A Round, Verse Simmonds
I'm not sure if a lot of you are all familiar with this song. It is fairly new. I found out about the song through a co-worker and I saw Verse perform this song on 'The Mo'Nique Show'.

Buy U A Drink, T-Pain
I remember when this song was all I heard and T-Pain was already annoying enough to me.

Pass The Courvoisier, Busta Rhymes
This is a fun song like many of Busta's songs. Remember the video? It was an updated ode to the movie 'Harlem Nights' which starred Eddie Murphy.

Tipsy, J'Kwon
J'Kwon was just 17 when he released this song and that was one thing. But it wasn't like 17 year old weren't getting tipsy and beyond that. Whatever happened to him? Who knows?

Grey Goose, Trina
This was a song that appeared on many of Trina's mixtapes and it may of possibly been for an album but didn't make it.

Hennessy & Barcadi, Foxy Brown
An unreleased song from Foxy that leaked out awhile back and to be honest I can't remember how it goes. It was pretty forgettable if I can't remember cause I'm a big fan of Fox's.

Old English, The Game
This was one of the opening cuts on Game's 'Doctor's Advocate' album.

Olivia Debuts New Single!

You guys remember Olivia? She was signed to G-Unit for a few years and her album, 'Behind Closed Doors' never saw the light of day. Though many of those songs leaked out, the album never came to friction. Before G-Unit Olivia was the first artist signed to J Records. She had a hit with the song, 'Bizounce'. Just thinking about that brings back such memories. Check out Olivia as she debuts a new single for record label, Universal Republic.

I remember when Olivia first came out and it was the Napster age then and I was a junior in high school. Listening to 'Bizounce' and a lot of songs from the 2001 era brings back many memories. It was truly the last year I enjoyed a lot of music. I been waiting for a year to come along that would come close or rival 2001 and I think 2010 may have a strong chance. Sorry for the little rant! LOL Smiley face!

Fantasia Has A Change Of Heart!

Have you seen Fantasia's new reality show yet? Well you still have to time to get caught up. The first episode just aired this past week and the second will air this Monday. Not only do you see Fantasia record her new album but deal with tons of family drama as evident by the first episode.

Fantasia has been in the gossip columns for awhile now and personally it is definitely time to make it all about the music again. The rumors about her and her married boo keep on and now a tattoo she had saying 'Cook'; a reference to her new boo has been altered. Read more about it below as well as stories on Wyclef Jean's possible scam and Keri Hilson's new album!

Fantasia showed off her non-tattoo while headlining the Barbados Music Festival/Awards this week. With her boo Antwaun Cook by her side, she’s been hitting the beaches while trying to cover up this tat she so horribly lied about recently. But she let it all hang out during her performance. And it looks like she’s changing his name “Cook” she had tatted on her shoulder/chest area…into a heart.

Maybe she just realized he “wasn’t in her tax bracket” enough for this kind of tattoo “privilege” afterall. Or the fact that his divorce judge may not look kindly upon this ish right here. Regardless….good luck with that Fanny.
Wyclef Jean Accused Of Running Scam!
LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Groups that vet charities are raising doubts about the organization backed by Haitian-born rapper Wyclef Jean, questioning its accounting practices and ability to function in earthquake-hit Haiti.

Even as more than $2 million poured into The Wyclef Jean Foundation Inc. via text message after just two days, experts questioned how much of the money would help those in need.

"It's questionable. There's no way to get around that," said Art Taylor, president and chief executive of the Better Business Bureau's Wise Giving Alliance, based in Arlington, Va.

Taylor reviewed Internal Revenue Service tax returns for the organization also known as Yele Haiti Foundation from 2005 through 2007. He said the first red flag of poor accounting practices was that three years of returns were filed on the same day — Aug. 10 of last year.

Keri Hilson Plans New Album!
Keri Hilson’s sophomore album could be hitting shelves sooner than we all thought, with the dime diva’s label Interscope telling Billboard that they’re aiming for a Memorial Day (May 31) release date.

The album will be preceded by a new single, tentatively due in March, but if things go according to plan we could see the song even earlier.

Joining Keri’s sophomore set will be the usual suspects of Timbaland, Danja and Polow Da Don, along with some new faces including Jeff Bhasker and rapper Drake.

In case you’re unfamiliar with Bhasker’s previous work, he’s produced for Kanye West (808’s & Heartbreak album), Kid Cudi (Man on the Moon album) and Alicia Keys (Try Sleeping with a Broken Heart).

“We’re just getting into this,” says Interscope urban music head DJ Mormile. “But we already have an idea of what we want to do. This album will continue the evolution of Keri, building off the hits ‘Knock You Down’ and ‘Turning Me On,’ which helped define her. This new album will be ‘Turning You On’ times 10.”
