WORK OF FICTION: Ne-Yo will release his new album Non Fiction on January 27. The album features the singles She Knows featuring Juicy J. Ne-Yo says Non Fiction will return him back to his R&B roots which he's somewhat abandoned over the years. I've heard Ne-Yo say this before so we'll have to hear the album to decide for ourselves. His first two singles have been R&B songs but to be honest I'm not really interested in an album from Ne-Yo. I would say his first two albums were good then after that he lost me. Thoughts? BANK(S) ON THIS: Azealia Banks will release the physical copy of her recently released album Broke With Expensive Taste on January 6. The album is available now for pre-order on Amazon. SHADY PALM TREE: Karrueche Tran, Chris Brown's girlfriend set the Twitter world on fire yesterday when she tweeted she was a "single lady again". This prompted speculation that Tran was done with Chris Brown again. The tweet happened to come in right after it was announced that some groupie girl has Chris Brown on tape in her bed, complete with pictures and all. Of course some of Twitter's well known comedians came forward with some not so nice jabs at Tran but she fired back saying her tweet was about her starring in the show Single Ladies . BOY TOY: Jessie J, famous for her hit song Bang Bang has shot down rumors of her and Ariana Grande taking on the classic hit song The Boy Is Mine . Oddly enough I could see them taking on the song and giving it its own spin. Though I don't know how people will feel about them covering it but their too formidable singers. I think they could pull it off if it was handled correctly. Then again when you think about it some songs are meant to be left alone and that's how some people feel. On another note though people cover songs all the time. Why not cover the song if they want to? That's more money in Brandy and Rodney Jerkins pockets! Just do the song justice if you do cover it. KINGS OF R&B: Joe, Ginuwine, Jagged Edge and Total will embark on the Kings of R&B tour in Europe in January. Why their not touring in the US I'm not sure. I'm guessing the money overseas is a lot longer than it is here in the States. I mean given also that none of the aforementioned acts are that popular in the State right now why not go overseas where music is much more appreciated.  MOMMY TO BE: And Nicki Minaj says she wants to be a Mother by the time her fifth album is released or shortly thereafter. Nicki is currently set to release her third album The Pink Print on December 15. When asked on the AMA( American Music Awards ) red carpet, Nicki said her fans will be surprised by the lyrical content on the new album. Could she be referring to the lyrics on her new single Bed of Lies ? One can only imagine. I can't say I'm here for the new Nicki album. I will have to hear the samples on iTunes. Nicki's album is not one I'm anticipating.

MUSIC BITS: Trey Songz just turned 30 and the singer had a birthday bash that was attended by Chris Brown among others. Happy Birthday Trigga! People are saying T.I. and Tiny's daughter may have had her eye color changed like her Mother's but I haven't paid enough attention to care. Have you? Rick Ross' artist Fat Trel was involved in a car accident which left one friend hospitalized. When police showed up to the scene, he began acting belligerent and was eventually arrested. Poor thing! Usher brought the house down during his recent tour stop at the world famous Staples Center arena. Usher brought out Chris Brown, August Alsina, and Kid Ink(song: Body Language ). Usher performed a slew of his old hits and some new music which will likely be featuring on an upcoming album. 

7/11 is the newest single and video from Beyoncé and its featured on the re-release of her double platinum album Beyoncé will be available on November 25. What do you think of the video? I think its genius. Beyoncé is definitely an innovator. No its not a groundbreaking video but its different and Beyoncé is having a lot of fun in it as we can see. I can truly admire an artist who goes left when everyone else goes right.

TALK SHOW SHIT: Queen Latifah learned today that her talk show has been cancelled after only two seasons on the air. The show was a snoozefest. Yes she had high profile guests but the magic just wasn't there and like someone else was saying online, Queen just didn't seem like Queen if you get what I'm saying. Hell I think her talk show from back in the day was better than this. Of course this isn't the end for Queen she's always had a career in music and even movies. DATE RAPE: Iggy Azalea is still feeling the heat even as her star continues to climb. Iggy's latest antagonist is Eminem. He raps on a new song titled Vegas where he threatens Iggy with rape. Iggy responded calling Eminem "old" for berating women. If that wasn't enough a fan asked Iggy to hop on a song with Nicki Minaj. Iggy replied saying "after reading the Billboard article I don't think she's a fan of mine". If you missed the Billboard article, it was mentioned that during Nicki Minaj's interview that Iggy's song came on the radio and she had her people cut it off. I guess its safe to say it will be awhile before we hear these two on a song if at all, not that I care to hear either on a record together anyway. Faith Evans is releasing her new album on November 24. You can check out a sample of the album before its released and based on the previews, the album sounds pretty good. I'm surprised because I wasn't expecting much from this project but my hope in it has been restored.

NEW YORK - A LOVE STORY: Love & Hip Hop New York will return to VH1 on December 15. I won't be watching. Speaking of LHHNY one of the castmates Erica Mena recently got engaged to Bow Wow. Comedian Tony Rock took to Twitter to blast Erica by calling her a "whore" and Bow Wow responded saying that he will see Tony face to face. Can you imagine that? 4 ft. Bow Wow standing up to 6 ft. Tony Rock? Now that's a show in itself. I mean to be honest Bow and Erica getting married is still a hard pill to swallow. I imagine we've seen worse things like the Aaliyah movie but I'm wondering do they have a reality show in the works? I think Lifetime should opt out of doing biopics unless it deals with some stylized murderer or serial killer. I don't think music biopics are their thing and they proved that last night. Aaliyah: The Princess of R&B which is based on the book Aaliyah: More Than A Woman aired last night on Lifetime. Before the movie's inception, there had been a storm of controversy from everything to who should play Aaliyah to Lifetime being involved in the movie's depiction. If that wasn't enough gossip maven Wendy Williams became executive producer. With Wendy being attached, we were sure we were going to get the goods but we got that and then some. What we got was a lot of bad acting, inaccurate storylines(to viewers anyway), and wrong choice of actors. None of the actors looked remotely close to who they were portraying. ROCK THE BOAT: Aaliyah: The Princess of R&B movie is set to air tonight on Lifetime. Based on the previews I've seen the movie looks like one big joke. The acting looks very stale and since the family doesn't approve of the movie, Aaliyah's music was not used in the movie. Instead it was rerecorded by the actress Alexandra Shipp. I guess I will have to reserve my final opinion of the movie after I watch it tonight. At first I had no plans to watch the movie not because of the family's objections but more so because it doesn't look all that good. Then again its Saturday night and there's not much else on TV anyway so why not watch. While everyone is already unhappy with the making of this film, maybe one day another film can be produced more to the thrill of the fans and the family of Aaliyah. You have to think about the dozens of movies that were made about Nelson Mandela. There can always be another Aaliyah movie made in the future so just wait on that! B...

Prior to the album's release Azealia blacked out her social media sites teasing fans and leaving many to wonder what she had up her sleeve. A few months ago Azealia asked her followers on Twitter when she should release her album and I guess she listened to her fans. Originally Azealia was planning to finally drop her debut at the top of the year. Boy I'm glad she didn't wait! Broke With Expensive Taste opens with the playful track Idle Delilah . The song is very 90s with the instrumentation and various change in genres. Gimme A Chance is very New York with its sample use and Azealia's flow. Desperado is perhaps one of my favorite songs.
