Miguel releases his latest music video for the single Adorn . When Miguel first released the song it was shorter in length. Due to popular demand he extended the song and it serves as a single for his new EP Kaleidoscope Dream . Miguel is supposed to release a full length album in October. For his new album Miguel worked with Pharrell Williams. Being a fan of Pharrell Williams I'm looking forward to hearing what he and Miguel come up with. Something tells me it will be hot!

50 Cent will release his long awaited album Street King Immortal on November 13. The album features the first single New Day featuring Alicia Keys & Dr. Dre. 50 Cent must plan to release a couple of singles and more mixtapes prior to his album's release. November is still some time away but then again it will be here in no time. Wondering what Rihanna's next album will sound like? Well according to producer Sean Garrett(worked with Beyonce) there will be a "mish-mash of genres". In addition to Sean Garrett; David Guetta is involved in the project as well. When will we hear this new music? Don't be surprised if its by year's end. We all know Rihanna typically drops an album every year.

Monica released the video for All Eyez On Me in 2002. The song was produced by Rodney Jerkins. The song didn't exactly set the charts on fire. It resulted in the album being reworked and later retitled to After The Storm . Fast forward to 2003 and All Eyez On Me is nowhere to be found on the new album but some of the tracks intended for All Eyez On Me ended up on After The Storm .  A few months ago Monica released her most recent album New Life which basically came and went. Not even her duet with Brandy; It All Belongs To Me could save the album.  I believe Monica is content with being a mother and a wife right now and may possibly be looking towards recording a new album.

2 Chainz is calling out those artists who have developed a knack for remixing and redoing his songs. The idea of remixing and redoing songs has become a popular practice within the R&B/Hip Hop community. I don't know why 2 Chainz feels that he is so special though or that his songs can't be replicated. Maybe the new money and increased fame has made his head a little bigger. On other hand I can understand what 2 Chainz is saying though. I used to always get annoyed with Trey Songz covered another artist's song. I always wondered why he couldn't do his own song but he had a trick up his sleeve. It was just his way of overexposing himself like he did before his album Ready came out. It was a tactic that worked though. Usher has chosen Dive as the fourth single from his recently released album Looking 4 Myself . While he may be blocking followers on Twitter for not purchasing Fortune Chris Brown is pressing ahead with a new single release. Don't Judge Me has been chosen as Chris Brown's newest single.  I'm not sure what single number this is. If I had to guess I would say this is his sixth single.  Toni Braxton may or may not be a judge on the new season of American Idol but that hasn't been confirmed yet. What has been confirmed is news of Toni returning for a new season of her hit reality show Braxton Family Values . The new season premieres August 16.  In other Toni Braxton news the singer is linking up with Babyface for a duets albums featuring several covers titled Love Marriage Divorce .  I think I like the title better for a solo Toni Braxton album but whatever. Toni is also filming a movie on Lifetime with her son about an interracial relationship.

Chris Brown has began blocking followers on Twitter that have yet  to buy his newest album Fortune . While Fortune remains in the upper echelon of the charts it hasn't been the swift seller his last album F.A.M.E. was. There's also been "fans" who have been humiliating Chris Brown by bragging on Twitter that they have downloaded the album and have not bought it.  What's the reasoning behind the album's lower than expected chart showing? Blame it on a number of factors. The number of pushbacks before the album's release possibly hurt sales quite a bit. Not to mention Chris Brown's increasingly annoying and volatile behavior has obviously turned fans off. This news just adds to the already increasingly number of headlines that Chris Brown manages to grab throughout the year. Instead the album will serve as a free album to the fans which will be available this August on Google Play. The album contains the single King Tut. If there's one thing the singer is striving for, it's a solid representation of her current musical direction, which seems to have evolved a lot over the past few years. JoJo's third studio release, which was announced in 2007, was originally slated to be titled "All I Want Is Everything" before morphing into "Jumping Trains" in 2011. The album includes the single Daughters .  Brandy is back in full swing with a host of gigs throughout D.C. and Chicago and during some of press junkets she mentioned a song Without You . Brandy says this is the song she wants as her next single but the label may push for something different. We will have to wait and see. There is also the song Sick floating around in discussions for second single so who knows.

A name you haven't heard in awhile; Blu Cantrell is rumored to be returning with new music. Her new single is said to feature Lil' Wayne. Awhile back someone posted under a fake Blu Cantrell page saying she had new music but the singer denied the claims. Blu Cantrell disappeared from the limelight after reportedly escaping to deal with some personal issues. The singer was signed to Arista in 2001 and released her gold album So Blu . In 2003 she released her Grammy nominated album Bittersweet which featured the single Breathe featuring Sean Paul. More rumors. I'm reading that Brandy has pushed her album release date to October 2. The album Two Eleven features the single Put It Down featuring Chris Brown. These artists and push backs. I swear this stuff gets annoying. R&B releases typically get pushed back at least twice before its all said and done.

It's one thing for artists to serenade us while their in their bathrooms but Tank takes it a step further by singing and showering.  It looks like Tank might be getting a little desperate to get his most recent album off the store shelves.

Frank Ocean released his Island Def Jam album channel Orange last week; first exclusively to retailer iTunes. It was a move that upset other retailers Target and forced them not to sell the CD. Boy are they regretting that decision now given the first week numbers(estimated at 130,000 copies).  Starting things off is the mindless intro Start followed by the album's first single Thinkin About You . Originally Thinkin About You was written for a female artist but that didn't stop Frank from putting his own spin of it.  We go into another mindless interlude and I say that because I don't quite understand some of the interludes just yet. “Sparkle,” the movie that marks Jordin Sparks‘ big-screen debut and Whitney Houston‘s movie swan song, is set to open August 17. Beanie Sigel has been sentenced to two years behind bars for not paying $700,000 in federal income taxes.   The 38-year-old rapper, born Dwight Grant, had previously plead guilty to not filing federal tax returns in 2003, 2004, and 2005, reports TMZ. During his sentencing at U.S District Court in Philadelphia, Jay-Z’s former Roc-A-Fella Records signee told the judge he accepts “total responsibility” for his actions. However, he did complain about family members who allegedly spent his money while he was serving time for drug and gun crimes in 2004 and 2005. “I haven’t been able to get my career back on track since,” Sigel told the court. Sigel, whose albums include The Truth, The B. Coming, and The Reason, has until September 12 to report to prison.

Swizz Beats has revealed that his wife Alicia Keys has a song with Babyface on her upcoming untitled album. He was careful not to divulge too much info but that's something listeners can look forward to. Alicia Keys leaked out a single New Day a few weeks ago.  Willie Taylor formerly of the group Day 26 originally spearheaded by Diddy has broken up. The group had been signed to Bad Boy and later Bad Boy/Atlantic. When Bad Boy jumped ship to Interscope Records; Atlantic Records decided to keep Day 26. The group had a new album in the works and a supporting single and a video. Sadly I can't remember it and I don't think anyone else did. Now Willie Taylor is pursuing with a solo career(as expected) with The Reintroduction of Willie Taylor . He has since released the single Instagram Ya Body . Like Facebook, Twitter, and countless other social networking sites we can expect to hear Instagram getting name dropped in many songs in the future.

Brandy just finished filming the visuals for her Chris Brown assisted single Put It Down . The video was a one day shoot and was directed by Hype Williams. We should be seeing the video very soon. Brandy's Two Eleven: Evolution album is due in the Fall. It wasn't long ago when Mariah Carey announced that we would get new music from her this Summer. Now the singer has logged in time with producer Rodney Jerkins. No word on when to expect the album or its first single and who it will be produced by. Word is though Jermaine Dupri mostly produced the upcoming album.

Many have been speculating and inquiring when Janet will release a new album but only time will tell. Janet does seem to be more focused on acting nowadays which makes perfect sense. Her music career has stalled somewhat over the years but fans still want music from the superstar. When asked about reuniting with longtime producers Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis Janet is coy not to reveal much. The album is still in its early stages. I'm sitting here trying to remember what year The Nutty Professor came out. It was either 1995 or 1996. Case's Touch Me Tease Me was one of the first singles released for The Nutty Professor soundtrack. The song features Mary J. Blige(who co-wrote the song and dated Case) and Foxy Brown(who was label mates with Case).  Case's self titled debut album would be released in 1996 as was Foxy Brown's. Mary J. was still riding the success of the My Life album and contributions to other soundtracks.

Kelly Price guests on the title track. His current single is titled Find A Way . Kenny Lattimore used to be married to singer Chante Moore. Together they released a string of duet albums on the Arista label nearly 10 years ago. Cassie created a little buzz for herself with the video for her single King Of Hearts . Now the singer is embarking on the release of a new EP Rock A Bye Baby . The EP is scheduled to hit by Summer's end.  Meanwhile Cassie is in the studio putting the finishing touches on her long awaited sophomore album featuring appearances from Ester Dean and will.i.am.  I never got the fuss over King Of Hearts . I feel like Cassie needs to stop while she's ahead but who am I to come between a girl and her career. 

Toni Braxton is planning a new album release on her own terms with the help of L.A. Reid. Toni mentioned this before while appearing on The Wendy Williams Show awhile back. She has since released the top 10 Dance hit I Heart You . There is also plans to do a duet album with frequent collaborator Babyface.  Toni will be starring in an all new season of her hit WE show Braxton Family Values . Sorry but I'm not sure exactly when it will be airing and since I don't have WE I won't be seeing it no time soon anyway. We got the pleasure of a Trey Songz and Nicki Minaj collabo in the form of Bottoms Up when it was released two years ago. While there is no upcoming collaboration in the works between Trey and Nicki both artists are respectively releasing new singles and videos for their perspective albums.    Trey Songz has chosen Dive In as the third single from his upcoming album Chapter 5 in stores and online August 21. The singer is currently filming a video to the single as well as a video for the upcoming single Simply Amazing . An unnamed song will get the single and video treatment as well. Looks like Trey is going all out for this album. Let's just hope his first week sales are not as depressing as Usher and Chris Brown's. Frank Ocean has worked with superstars including Beyoncé, Jay-Z, and Kanye West, but one collaboration we may never hear is with Nas. The Odd Future crooner reveals a lost record with the hip-hop legend. In an interview with The New York Times, Ocean says that he and Nas recorded a song called “No Such Thing as White Jesus,” but it was lost due to a technological error. Chris Brown is fuming over the estimated first week sales of his new album Fortune . While the album is set to debut at #1 the album's first week sales(estimated at 120,000 - 140,000) is lower than expected. Chris Brown has released about five singles all which have done moderately well on all the charts. However when he pushed the album back in April I think that's what hurt the sales a bit. The album was supposed to be released on May 8. I think he should of kept that date. I really don't know why the album was pushed back in the first place. It's not like he had released a flopped single. Everything was on target for his album to perform well but maybe people are feeling him or the music this time.  Anyway Chris has reportedly taken to Twitter and UStream expressing his disdain over the low sales week. Ashanti hooks up with Meek Mill & French Montana on her new single No One Greater which was leaked out on June 30. The single is the newest release from Ashanti's upcoming album Braveheart due this Fall.  Ashanti looks great on the single cover! I hope Ashanti doesn't wait forever to release this video like she did with The Woman You Love . With that being said I also hope the video has a better storyline and doesn't confuse the viewers like The Woman You Love .  If Ashanti can continue to put out these bomb single covers she can definitely stand to change that awful album cover of hers. Nelly is returning to the music scene with a new single Merry Go Round featuring Chris Brown. It is the first single from his upcoming untitled album. The song is produced by Da Internz who is responsible for Rihanna's Birthday Cake among other songs. Nelly's boo Ashanti recently found her song No One Greater featuring French Montana & Meek Mill leaked out. While Producer 7 Aurelius made mention about the song weeks ago via his Twitter page the leak was premature. The move has led to a fallen out between the produces of the song 7 Aurelius and Irv Gotti. 7 Aurelius later tweeted that he and Irv Gotti would never work together again!  Meanwhile with the premature leaks and numerous release date changes for the upcoming Braveheart album Ashanti announced the album will be available this Fall. A spokesman for R. Kelly says the R&B singer is suffering complications from throat surgery and will miss promotional appearances for his new album and memoir. Kelly's publicist said in a statement that the singer was on his way to New York on Wednesday morning when he became ill and returned to Chicago for medical treatment. Kelly had surgery last year to treat an abscess on his vocal cords. Kelly's new album, "Write Me Back," came out Tuesday and his memoir, "Soulacoaster: The Diary of Me," releases Thursday. The Grammy winner's publicist says Kelly will have to cancel appearances on "The Jimmy Fallon Show," NBC's "Today" and at a book party.
