Mariah Carey's New Album Smashed!

The reviews for Mariah's new album, "Memoirs Of An Imperfect Angel" have been mixed to say the least. I, for one really enjoy the album but I'm just one person. Anyway an angry fan or one just desperate for attention smashes her new album using his car. This is way to show his disgust with the album which is slated to debut either at #1 or #2 next week with 170-180K units. That is considerably low for Mariah and I don't think anyone was expecting an estimate that low.

Yung Berg Gets Slapped In Public Fight!

Yung Berg is always in the middle of something most likely cause he never shuts his big mouth. The video will point out who Yung Berg is and you will have to follow him in the video to see him get punched. The video is a bit shaky though.

Ghostwriters and female rappers go hand in hand. Since the early days of rap, men have mostly penned many of the songs by female rappers. There are some exceptions though but that's why you hear(or have heard) many female rappers state that they write their own rhymes. Beyonce Boots Lindsay Lohan!

Beyonce Knowles reportedly had Lindsay Lohan thrown out of her own dressing room because the singer wanted it for herself.

The former Destiny's Child star was performing at the F1 Rocks concert in Singapore over the weekend and had ordered her entourage to get her the largest dressing area backstage.

However, Lindsay - who was hosting the event for British TV network Channel 4 - had already claimed the room for herself as she arrived earliest and was left upset when she was told she would have to vacate it.

The 'Mean Girls' actress told Britain's Daily Mirror newspaper: "I've been a bit down. It was a strange night. Everyone was being aggressive and bothering me. I really didn't like it."

Beyonce has more lawsuits than any other celebrity I know. It is simply ridiculous!

The two divas that were once pitted against one another and still are to this day finally hooked up for a song. Produced by Babyface and featured on "The Prince Of Egypt" soundtrack, the song was a modest hit. Of course in my opinion what do you have to superstar artists sing about anyway?

Ciara Plans New Album!

Ciara has been laying low as of late, but for good reason. The R&B singer is well into recording her fourth album and we’ve got the exclusive details.

Christopher “Tricky” Stewart and his songwriting partner The-Dream have been secretly spending the summer in the studio producing the entire follow-up to Ciara’s Fantasy Ride. Stewart broke the news to Rap-Up.com in an exclusive interview. “We’re doing the whole project,” he reveals. “We’re pretty good into it at this point. We’re about 14 songs deep right now.”

While there’s still the possibility of a release by the end of the year, it’s looking like 2010 will mark Super C’s return. “It’s a little up in the air, but there’s a chance that it might come this year. That was the goal, but at the same time, we didn’t want to rush anything. I think it’s looking more like a next year thing.”

I'm not all that excited about a new Ciara album right now. I guess once she comes back out with a hot enough single then I will be. As we all know Ciara's "Fantasy Ride" album failed to deliver musically and commercially(sales wise).

For her Def Jam debut, Amerie continues to be the innovator she is with this bold expression of an album cover. Titled, "In Love & War", the album features the singles, "Heard 'Em All" and "Why R U". The album will be in stores November 3. I can't say I'm that excited about this album but I know Amerie will offer something different musically.

You Dropped A Bomb On Me

It's never a good thing when artists get dropped from labels. Actually it is pretty embarrassing among other things. Most artists like to downplay their release from a label by saying they asked for a release. Sure thing! Well anyway the artists have been involved in highly publicized releases from their labels. Check them out!

LeToya
Word is that LeToya has just been dropped from Capitol Records and there is a petition to save her and her career. LeToya's new album, "Lady Love" was met with little fanfare so that's when the rumors started. At the time of this type up, I had just read an article about her being dropped. The article may not even be true but it wouldn't surprise me if it were.

Brandy
Brandy signed with Epic Records last year and released her debut, "Human" which was a bomb in itself. Not one to be outdone though, Brandy rebounded by working on a new album soon afterwards. Recently word let out that Brandy was no longer featured on the Epic Records artist roster(a clear indication that an artist has been dropped). While there has been no exact confirmation, I wouldn't be shocked either if it were true.

Christina Milian
Christina Milian was poised to finally have a hit album with "So Amazin" with "Say I" ruling the airwaves in mid-2006. The hype around the album sprung an early leak and lead to the album under performing on the charts. Afterwards it was announced that Christina Milian had been dropped from Def Jam Records and Christina being the trooper she is admitted it was indeed true. Nowadays Christina Milian has tied the knot with Dream and is supposedly pregnant. Labelwise, she is reportedly signed to Interscope Records. Let's see how this blows!

Monica
Now Monica has never actually been dropped from a label[to my knowledge]. Though every once in awhile a rumor circulates about Monica being dropped from J Records. Of course this rumor usually follows after a Monica album fails on the charts. But every time you turn around those rumors prove to be false as Monica is still on J Records. She plans to release her new album at the top of next year.

Mariah Carey
I figured since I'm paying tribute to Mariah this week, I would try my best to include her in my 'music feeds'. Mariah's highly publicized release from Virgin Records for $28 million is a release from a label that many artists would dream of.

Eve......A Free Agent!

TheYBF.com caught up with E-V-E on last night’s VH1 Hip Hop Honors red carpet. And she revealed that she has permanently shut down her Fetish clothing line. We reported a while back that she was in the midst of revamping the line for a re-release possibly under a different name and under a different company. But she tells us everything has completely ended due to “legal reasons”. Hmm.

Eve also confirmed that she has indeed left her label Geffen Records. Which means her album Flirt won’t be seeing the light of day anytime soon. It was supposed to be released two years ago. She says she’s still working on some things but is a “free agent” as of right now. She’s in the upcoming Drew Barrymore and Ellen Page movie Whip It! And will be guest starring on “Glee”.

I don't think Eve's heart is in rapping anymore. Every time you turn around she is dating some billionaire. Clearly she doesn't need rap money.

Things are never always peachy and keen between artists and record labels. Often times artist and label clash over everything from single choices, image, and more. Well these well publicized beef with record labels can't go unnoticed. Check them out!

Joss Stone
An upset Joss Stone lashed out against label, EMI when they withheld her album, "Colour Me Free". Now with a release date of October 20, it seems the label has come to its senses.

JoJo
JoJo took to the internet, like many stars to express her frustration with Blackground Records for holding up her new album. The singer was very passionate about her album and wanted it to see the light of the day. Hopefully for JoJo we get to hear that album but something tells me we will one way or another.

Mariah Carey
It had been quite a few awkward years spent at Columbia Records, Mariah's former label due to the fact that her ex-husband, Tommy Mottola ran the label. Once Mariah finally got her release, she jumped ship to Virgin[Records]and her situation became even worse. The label paid her a whopping $28 million dollars to leave their label after "Glitter" flopped. Not one to be outdone, Mariah rebounded with 2005's "The Emancipation of Mimi".

Toni Braxton
Classy, elegant, and souful; who'd ever thought Toni Braxton didn't manage her money properly. Toni's mismanagement of her money was the force behind her bitter dispute with LaFace Records. Luckily the singer and label kissed and made up before eventually dropping her. Toni has since moved to Atlantic Records and will release her new album, "Pulse" in February 2010.

Foxy Brown
Foxy Brown was going to keep quiet but couldn't hold her frustrations in when her and former label, Def Jam Records got into a huge dispute over Foxy's image. It was right on the eve of Foxy's shelved album, "Ill Na Na 2: The Fever". According to Foxy, former label head, Lyor Cohen wanted Foxy to change her hair[color] and recreate her image. Foxy was against this though it probably wouldn't of hurt her in the end. But at the same time if you feel someone is in the wrong especially Foxy, she will let your ass know!

Not only is a good video, it is a good song and I actually like it.

Producer Christopher “Tricky” Stewart spoke to Rap-Up.com about the delay of his hitmaking partner’s third album, originally slated for a fourth quarter release. “That’s not in the cards ’cause we’re just too busy right now,” says Stewart. “I think he wanted to take a little bit of time off from doing the artist thing.”

In the meantime, Dream is working on two new videos that will quench fans’ thirst. “We are shooting two more videos for his Love vs. Money album this week, one to ‘Sweat It Out’ and the other one to ‘Fancy.’”

As for Love King, the project is “almost” complete, according to Stewart. “It’s pretty much in the can.”

The-Dream is responsible for the work on Mariah's latest album and I have to commend him because he, Mariah, and Tricky shat on it! 'Shat' means good for those who are curious!

Alicia Keys Readies New Album!

Hello all! A few weeks ago the lead single for Alicia Keys' first single leaked out and to be honest I can't remember what the name of it is. I think it is called "Doesn't Mean Anything" or something to that effect. Anyway below you can learn a little more about her upcoming album. Alicia Keys Titles New Album!
Alicia Keys' new album will be titled, "The Element Of Freedom" and will arrive in stores December 1. The album's second single will be, "Try Sleeping With A Broken Heart". I know a lot of people are excited about Alicia Keys' new album but I am not. I'm not the biggest fan of hers but I do like a few songs.

Diddy Leaves Label!

After a five-year run, Sean "Diddy" Combs confirmed with Billboard that he is exiting his exclusive deal with Warner Music Group/Atlantic Records at the end of this month. A new, as-yet-not-officially-announced deal is in place, according to his spokeswoman.

The joint venture for Bad Boy's current roster and catalog with WMG will remain in place.

"Now that the term of the Warner deal has ended, I have elected to accept an opportunity to move my recording career and future label venture to another company," Diddy said in a statement.

Diddy's spokeswoman wouldn't confirm which label he will be partnering with, though reports have said a deal is in place for his next album "Last Train To Paris" to be released by Interscope Records.

The one album Diddy released through the WMG agreement, 2006's "Press Play," has sold 703,000 units to date, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

Bobby Brown Joins Celebrity Fit Club!
VH1 brings back one of their more recognizable reality TV franchises, "Celebrity Fit Club" which will premiere on February 14, 2010. Bobby Brown along with Britney Spears' ex-husband, Kevin Federline will be apart of the new cast. I usually watch 'Celeb Fit Club' and based on the stars featured this year, there will be plenty of reasons to watch. Also Shar Jackson; Kevin Federline's ex-girlfriend will also be on the show.

Ashanti Performs Live On The Early Show!

Ashanti is outdoing herself with everything affiliated with "The Wiz" as she sings "Somewhere Over The Rainbow". Ashanti has the kind of voice for these type of songs but I wasn't too thrilled by her version of this. I am an Ashanti fan but this just didn't do it for me.

Meanwhile Ashanti hooked up with Ja Rule for the VH1 Hip Hop Honor awards which will be airing next month. This year's show pays homage to Def Jam and many of its artists; past and present. Ashanti, along with Ja Rule performed a medley of their biggest hits.

I don't really have a big dislike towards Keri Hilson but I feel she can be a bit too cocky in her approach. Drake Plans First Single For Debut Album!

Rapper/singer Drake has announced that the first single from his debut album Thank Me Later will be “Shut It Down”, featuring The-Dream.

Omen describes the song as a “Prince-like, powerful song about empowering females. Drake said he had a song idea called ‘Shut It Down’ aimed at club-going females. When they go out and they get dressed up and put their makeup on and get their hair done, they have the capacity to shut the club down.”

The video is set to be directed by Hype Williams who just shot Drake’s last video “Forever”.

Look out for Drake’s album Thank Me Later which drops February 2010.

I can't say I'm all that excited about Drake's album but I'm sure a lot of other people are.

Omarion Strikes New Record Deal!

After a somewhat tumultuous few months, a period which saw him sign and severe ties with Timabland and Lil’ Wayne’s labels, Omarion today announced that he has signed a new deal with EMI. Check out the report below via MTV:The former B2K frontman announced Thursday (September 24) that he signed a new deal with EMI to create his own imprint StarWorld Entertainment. Through the pact, the Los Angeles native will release his next project, Ollusion, due November 24. Just last month, Omarion united forces with Lil Wayne and joined the rapper’s Young Money roster. However, shortly after the news broke, the singer mysteriously parted ways with the camp. “I have a lot of respect and admiration for the genius of Lil Wayne and the entire Young Money family,” he said in a statement. “I asked to be released from the label to pursue other opportunities that were recently presented to me. Because of our relationship, Lil Wayne had no issue with us ending our business relationship and released me from the label.” Prior to linking with Lil Wayne, O partnered with Timbaland in 2008, but the union didn’t result in any material being released through the producer’s Mosley Music Group. Omarion will now ready his third solo album, which will feature collaborations from Tank, Fabolous and Gucci Mane on the first single, “I Get It In,” set to debut October 5. “My style has evolved so much on this album,” Omarion said in a statement. “I was able to express truly who I am from a creative and artistic standpoint, which allowed me to share a personal side of myself with my fans through my music. This is my masterpiece, and I can’t wait for the world to hear my new album.”

I liked Omarion's "21" album which was released at the end of 2006. I wasn't expecting much from it but I was pleasantly surprised at it.

Lil' Boosie Sentenced To Jail!

Rapper Torrence "Lil Boosie" Hatch has been sentenced to two years behind bars after accepting a plea deal and admitting to drug and weapon possession in an arrest last fall.

The rapper was given his prison sentence Tuesday (September 22) afternoon.

"Local rapper Torrence 'Lil Boosie' Hatch pleaded guilty this afternoon to drug and gun charges," a WAFB reporter said in an evening broadcast. "Lil Boosie was scheduled to stand trial this coming Monday but entered a plea deal today to avoid trial. Deputies last fall reportedly seized a bag of marijuana, a cigar containing the drug and a gun from Boosie's car. The 26 year-old rapper was sentenced to two years of prison time, however, Lil Boosie could serve as little as one year depending on his behavior while he's locked up."

Jay-Z Sounds Off On 50 Cent's Comments Towards Kanye West!

In a recent interview, 50 Cent stated he would have assaulted Kanye West in the same situation.

“I wish he could come take one of my awards so I could black his eye in front of everybody,” 50 Cent stated.

“I think he would have done that if that was 50 Cent,” Jay-Z told Nelson during the interview. “No one is scared of 50 Cent. I want everyone to be clear. No one is scared of 50 Cent.”

50 also recently took a shot at Jay-Z when he name checked him and labeled him as “Urkel” in the video for “Flight 187.”

Jay-Z also revealed that he chastised West for interrupting Taylor Swift’s speech, which caused worldwide uproar.

People ranging from celebrities to President Barack Obama and former U.S. President Jimmy Carter have weighed in on the controversy.

“I just think that that’s what he believed,” Jay-Z told Trevor Nelson. “I thought it was rude I though it was inappropriate and I told him as much. But I don’t think he was wrong.”

50 Cent always has something to say on every subject and every rapper. Like I said before, 50 has the right to say whatever and he does have a lot of clout in the industry despite him falling off big time. I just wish he would shut up sometimes. Who cares what he thinks anyway? Then again everyone has had something to say about Kanye and his antics.

Trey Songz, Mario Plan Tour!

Live Nation has partnered with BET Networks to produce a series of U.S. tours that are set to visit Live Nation-owned House of Blues venues and other clubs/theaters across the country.

The new partnership will launch this fall with the 106 & Park Tour, which featuring co-headliners Trey Songz and Mario. The trek begins Sept. 29 at the House of Blues in Los Angeles, and will visit major U.S. cities through November. Other acts featured on the tour include Day 26, Sean Garrett and RydazNRtist. BET Networks will serve as the jaunt's exclusive media partner.

Jill Scott To Star In New Lifetime Movie!

R&B star Jill Scott, most recently seen in HBO's "Ladies No. 1 Detective Agency," has been cast as the lead in Lifetime Television's telefilm "Sins of the Mother," reports Variety. The story follows a grad student who returns home
to face her abusive, alcoholic mother – played by Scott – only to discover that
her mom is sober and has a 3-year-old daughter and new life. The story is
adapted from author Carleen Brice’s novel "Orange Mint and Honey." Production on
the film begins this week for 2010 premiere.

Toni Braxton Pushes New Album Back!
Originally set for release this year, Toni Braxton's upcoming album, "Pulse" will now be released in February. Recently the single, "Yesterday" leaked out and over the last few months, a variety of songs from Braxton has leaked. The new album is said to be a mix of reggae tunes and pulsating ballads which Braxton is known for. Braxton's new album will be her first for Atlantic.

Kanye West Plans Tour With Lady GaGa!

Although Kanye West told Jay Leno he would take some time off amid
the disastrous fallout surrounding his stunt at the MTV Video Music Awards, the
rapper has confirmed that he will honor his commitment to tour with Lady GaGa as
planned. After crashing the stage during Taylor Swift's acceptance speech at the
VMAs and subsequently apologizing to the teen singer multiple times - stating he
would "take some time off" to reflect – West has decided instead to join Lady
GaGa for the "Fame Kills" tour starting this fall.

Bobby Brown Responds To Whitney Houston Interview With Oprah!

Whitney Houston’s tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey has given
way to revelations from the other half of her infamous marriage to R&B
crooner Bobby Brown. The former New Edition member weighed in on long standing
talk of him corrupting Houston throughout their union during an interview on The
Insider. According to Brown, the negative influences surrounding his former
marriage could not be attributed to one source.“I think we corrupted each
other,” the entertainer said. “I don’t think she hurt me or I hurt her in any
way. I just think we had a 14-year marriage that had its ups and down and not
many people understood it.”

Are Nas and Kelis back together?

New mom Kelis and her estranged husband Nas have sparked rumors of
a reunion after they were spotted 'kissing and hugging' while attending a
private party in New York. The couple, who split in April while the "Milkshake"
star was pregnant with their first child – were seen together Monday at Marquee
club."Nas and Kelis were celebrating his birthday with some friends and you
couldn't tell they were divorcing to look at them," a source told WENN. "They

Whitney Houston Plans Tour!

Despite speculation that she’s lost her trademark voice, diva Whitney Houston revealed today that she has plans to tour her new album “I Look To You”.

“I will be touring” said Houston earlier today on the Tom Joyner show. “What we’re trying to do is do a February tour schedule. It’ll just be me I’m sure, I don’t know who else is gon’ wanna be on stage with me [Laughs]!”

The 46-year-old also mentioned that she’s planning to return to the silver screen soon, hinting at an upcoming film project that she will produce and star in.

Houston is currently enjoying the success of her comeback album “I Look To You”, which is already close to being certified Gold. Her latest single “Million Dollar Bill” is available now.

I'm happy for Whitney for going gold and hopefully platinum. Her album is really good and it is nice to have her back on the scene. I liked the Oprah interview but I know a lot of others were mixed about it but then again those same people were mixed over the Diane Sawyer interview too. They had more reason to be for that one. That was a total train wreck!

Ne-Yo, Fabolous, and Ryan Leslie Form Supergroup?

“We’re talking about a triple-team collaboration that’s really gonna hurt the game,” Leslie told MTV recently in New York. “Your boy Fab, the boy Ne-Yo and yours truly on the board. It’s really gonna put a hurting on everybody.”

Loso and Leslie said the trio are open to collaborating with others on the project. “The table is open,” Leslie said. “If you’re bringing something to the table, you can break bread.”

“It’s about conceptualizing,” Ryan added about how the LP will shape up. “It’s not gonna be a project that’s thrown together. It’s gonna be a real roundtable, and we’re gonna talk about really putting something in the atmosphere that contributes something that’s never been done before.”

Last month Fabolous spoke about the possibility of a joint album with Ne-Yo, which he described as a “Best of Both Worlds” type project.

The pair have previously collaborated together on their hit single “Make Me Better”, whilst Leslie and Fab teamed up for the singles “Addiction” and “Everything, Everyday, Everywhere”.

What's with everyone forming these super groups anyway? Like I said a day ago in another post, if you can't beat 'em join 'em. Ne-Yo doesn't need to join a super group as far as I'm concerned. He already has enough success but I can't be mad at him for trying to make even more money. Ryan SHOULD be pretty wealthy. He produces enough songs for different artists. Fab...well that's whole 'nother story.

Mariah Carey Plans New Video!

As first reported here on MariahDailyJournal, Mariah has started filming the music video for "I Want To Know What Love Is," the second single from her new album, Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel. Filming underway in New York, the music video is being rushed to coincide with the album release on Tuesday, September 29th. The director of the music video is Harold "Hype" Williams.

Mariah and Hype reunite for the first time in eleven years for the "I Want To Know What Love Is" music video. They collaborated previously on the "Sweetheart" (featuring Jermaine Dupri) video in 1998.

I know a lot of people were upset about this song as a single choice especially once they heard the other snippets from the "Memoirs" album. Mariah has so many singles to choose from. Let's hope she doesn't fluck it up. "Love" is already taking off on the charts so maybe this is a good decision. I am looking forward to Mariah's album now. I still can't believe I'm saying that cause a few months ago I was disgusted with her behavior on "106 & Park" but all is forgiven now!

Mariah Carey Performs Live On Oprah!

Oprah Winfrey's premiere week was this week and the TV talk show host went out with a bang by featuring Mariah Carey for Friday's performance. The songbird performed her latest single, "I Want To Know What Love Is". Her new album, "Memoirs Of An Imperfect Angel" will be in stores September 29. I can't wait for the album!

R. Kelly For The Woman's Soul

For nearly 20 years, R. Kelly has wrote and produced many hits not only for himself but a host of female artists. At one time he was simply known for the songs he solely wrote and produced for females; many of them becoming anthems in their own rights. Check out some of those songs below!

Blaque - 808
I remember when I first heard this song and learning that R.Kelly wrote it, I wasn't surprised. I know R. Kelly has a particular style of writing but I do like how this song was written.

Truth Hurts - The Truth
R. Kelly produced this underrated gem from Truth Hurts' debut album, Truthfully Speaking in which he also shares guest vocals. I like the thumping beat here and the lyrics of course which signal R. Kelly as the King of ghetto soul.

Nivea - Laundromat
Being label mates with R. Kelly has its perks. He is likely to produce a cut for your album. That was the case for Nivea when he wrote and produced, "Laundromat". When the song was released as a single, it was during R. Kelly's infamous molestation trial. The song however did peak at #20 on the R&B charts.

Britney Spears - Outrageous
Like Nivea, Britney Spears was also label mates with R. Kelly. Still, it was surprising when it was revealed that R. Kelly [wrote and]produced "Outrageous" for Brit's "In The Zone" album.

Sparkle - Be Careful
R. Kelly's protege' hit it big with her debut single which featured R. Kelly on vocals. The song was a memorable song back in the summer of 1998. Sparkle's debut album is a favorite of mine and one I manage to dust off and play every once in awhile.

Changing Faces - G.H.E.T.T.O.U.T.
R. Kelly had produced many songs for Changing Faces during their brief time together but this is perhaps one of their most popular and one of my favorites.

Toni Braxton - I Don't Want To
R. Kelly penned an emotional and melancholy track for Braxton which appeared on her Secrets album. The video featured Toni simply in a wife beater and jeans.

Whitney Houston - I Look To You
The title track from Whitney Houston's new album is very preachy and it is a song that a lot of my co-workers sing at work; playfully. Whitney Houston revealed that R. Kelly wrote the song for her 10 years ago. Can you believe that?

Who could that be? Well you can guess one of them is Tamia by the picture on the right and the accompanying article below. This isn't the first time something like this has been discussed. The thing is will it ever really come to friction. We will have to wait and see.

Trio Of Singers Form Supergroup!

Singers Tamia, Deborah Cox and Kelly Price have united for an upcoming compilation project called 'The Queen Project.'

Led by the first single, 'Queen,' the three vocal powerhouses are elated about the opportunity to form this sisterhood in song.

'The Queen Project' is scheduled to be released in early 2010; however no record company affiliation has been announced at this time.

The group's first concert together will be in New York City during the Circle of Sisters expo on Oct. 10.

Like I said above we will just have to wait, see, and hear if this comes to friction. After all if you can't beat 'em join 'em. Good luck ladies!

Pink Speaks On Beyonce!

You can always count on Pink to be honest and forthright and hold nothing back. I remember before she had a problem with Beyonce and by the looks of it, there is still a little shade there.

Angie Stone Plans New Album!

Neo-soul singer Angie Stone has announced that she will her fifth studio album “Unexpected” this Autumn.

“It’s titled “Unexpected,’” reveals Stone. “And you can expect to be surprised. Pleasantly surprised, I hope. You’ve got some classic Angie Stone there, and some Angie Stone that’s a little adventurous. I feel like I’ve been working long and hard enough that I’m in a position to try some new things.”

The album will serve as the follow-up to 2007’s “The Art Of Love & War”, which debuted at #11 on the Billboard charts, and produced the moderate R&B hit “Baby”. Stone is still best known for her 2002 hit single “Wish I Didn’t Miss You”.

I like Angie Stone though I didn't get into her last album, her first two were the business. My mother played the hell out of her debut, "Black Diamond", that's how I came to like it too.

MTV gives fans an all access look into everything that went into Janet Jackson's 2009 Video Music Awards tribute to her brother Michael as the network premieres "The Making Of Janet Jackson's Video Music Award Tribute Performance" on Saturday, September 19 at 12:30PM

To honor her brother and his illustrious career, Janet, along with her creative director, Gil Duldulao, handpicked a team of the world's most renowned choreographers, all of whom took time away from their various projects and made their way to New York City to join together for a high-energy and memorable tribute. MTV cameras were there from the first day of rehearsals in Los Angeles, CA to show day when Janet and her team of choreographers took to the stage for the performance of a lifetime, where they recreated one of the most unforgettable music videos ever, "Scream." The celebration received a standing ovation.

Beyonce Sued!

Pop diva Beyonce Knowles and teen clothing giant Abercrombie & Fitch are going to war over who is fiercer.

In a federal suit, the Ohio-based chain of popular mall stores sued Knowles, saying they already own the name of her upcoming scent.

The grammy-winning singer announced this week that she had teamed up with fragrance maker Coty, which launched the celebrity scent craze in 2002 when Jennifer Lopez' Glow racked up $100 million in sales in one year.

Knowles' perfume, named after her onstage alter ego, Sasha Fierce, is supposed to launch next spring. Her line of clothing, also called Sasha Fierce, just debuted in department stores.

The superstar singer described her new scent as "an alluring and sophisticated fragrance; one that's refelective of my inner power."

Abercrombie said the whole thing stinks.

Beyonce is always getting sued for something. When she's not taking someone's songs, she's taking their fashion and fragrance ideas. Not surprised at all.

SWV Plans To Return!

Popular 90’s R&B girl girl group SWV have confirmed that they are planning on making a comeback with a new album in the works.

Group member Cheryl “Coko” Clemons confirmed that the group have officially reunited and will begin recording their new album in the beginning of October.

SWV have sold roughly 10 million albums, and are best known for their # single “Weak”, as well as their smash hit “Right Here” which samples Michael Jackson’s “Human Nature”. They’re currently ranked at #100 on the top 500 pop artists of the past 25 years.

How many times have we heard this story? I remember hearing SWV had toured with some older school R&B acts but Coko can't seem to decide if she wants to pursue gospel music or R&B music.

Mary J. Blige Speaks Out On Kanye West!

Mary J. Blige says she doesn't know what to think of Kanye West, who famously interrupted Taylor Swift at the MTV Video Music Awards Sept. 13.

"People are going through more than what you can imagine. I love Kayne, and I wish the best for him," she told Usmagazine.com Wednesday at a Gucci party in NYC.

Of West (whose mother Donda died two years ago following a "cosmetic procedure"), Blige said, "I pray that whatever's going on with him, he deals with it."

Blige, 38, also opened up about Whitney Houston's revealing interview with Oprah Winfrey. During the chat, Houston admitted she was drug free but said, "I can only take today, one day at a time."

Blige — who was once addicted to drugs and alcohol — told Us she is "so super happy for Whitney. She's freeing herself of everything that holds her back by speaking and helping a multitude of women.
