Candice Glover Wins American Idol, Tamar Braxton Album News

Candice Glover is the new winner of season 12 of American Idol. It has been one long season full of drama that played out in front of the cameras as well as behind. Last week veteran judge Randy Jackson(amid the rumblings of firing all four judges) stepped down. Now on the heels of Randy Jackson's exit is news that Nicki Minaj is leaving American Idol as well. There is no official word whether or not Mariah Carey or Keith Urban will return as judges. Do we care either way though? I most certainly don't!

Tonight's season finale of American Idol went as expected, high profile performances from the likes of J-LO and Aretha Franklin, surprise appearances from singers like Jessie J, PSY, Jennifer Hudson and the former Idol contestants.

I will say I knew that Candice Glover had it in the bag so congratulations to her. I see her doing big things in the future.

Switching geaars...

Wondering when you can get your hands on the new album from Tamar Braxton? Well unfortunately you will have to wait until September. The pregnant singer is due to give birth soon and will obviously need the time away to care for baby. Tamar's Epic Records debut Love & War features the title track as well as her new hit The One.

I'm sure most people have heard the song by now. If you noticed the song samples Mtume's hit single Juicy Fruit. The sample has been used by many an artists including Keyshia Cole(who Tamar is frequently compared to now) and Biggie.

I in no way shape of form would compare Tamar and Keyshia but I understand the comparisons. Their perspective singles, Love & War and Trust & Believe were similar in melody and added to the talk of comparisons. The Juicy Fruit sampled added more fuel to the fire being that Keyshia used the sample in her hit Let It Go. At the end of the day people just want something to talk about and if they ain't talking about you, you don't matter!
