Music Feed: Famous Duos

Two heads are always better than one. These famous duos have made their mark in music history. Be it, there timeless love songs or their magical combination, these duos could do no wrong in our eyes. Unfortunately like any group troubled times put a damper on many of the working relationships that existed between these duos. Never forgetting the legacy that exists between these duos their influence and impact on society is examined here. Check it out!

Marvin Gaye & Tammi Terrell
This is for serious old school folks only. A lot of new school folks may not know much about this
duo. Former labelmates and lovers found success in the early Motown days. Their songs would
later become anthems and torch songs. Their time together was short lived after singer Terrell
collapsed on stage during a performance. Ain't no mountain high enough!

Peaches & Herb
Perhaps best known for their hit, "Reunited" and "Shake Ya Groove Thing", Peaches & Herb were smooth as silk and were one of the many groups to embrace the style of music known as Quiet Storm(and disco). From what I recall about the group, there was more than one lead singer known as "Peaches". Lead singer Herb married and divorced a time or two which resulted in the lineup changes.

Ashford & Simpson
They are one of the most influential duos in the music industry. Their string of hits date back
nearly 40 years and are still relevant in today's everchanging musical landscape. Their real life
love affair has transformed into timeless music which the duo still performs to this day.

Rene & Angela
This is another famous duo of the late 70s and early 80s. Their real life love affair was the winning formula behind many of the duos R&B hits. Many of their most well known songs(including "My First Love" and "I Love The Dough") have been sampled and covered by many artists(including Avant and Foxy Brown). Unfortunately the love affair ended which resulted in this duo disbanding many many years ago.

Koffee Brown
Many people might not remember this duo. The real life lovers produced two hits on the Arista
label in the early 00's. One hit was "Weekend Thing" which featured backing vocals from RL of
Next. The real life lovers real life spilled over into their music which resulted in their disbanding.

Zhane
This funky duo were known for their irresistible melodies and dance floor jams. After their second album, "Saturday Night" failed, the duo faded into oblivion. Though the two singers have moved on they have become perspective songwriters in their own rights. Most notably they have contributed to songs by Naughty By Nature and Mary J. Blige.

Nina Sky
This sizzling duo is known for their one and only hit single, "Move Ya Body". Not content with
being one hit wonders, this duo is set on making a comeback. Their new single, "Curtain Call"
featuring Rick Ross is burning up the airwaves.

Floetry
This duo burst onto the scene and became a critics favorite with their debut album, "Floetic". After their second album failed, the duo's future together was questioned. Lead singer, Marsha
Ambrosius became a sought after writer and featured vocalist. It was soon revealed that the group disbanded and that Ambrosius was working on a solo album.

Changing Faces
The R. Kelly produced duo was known for their affirming ladies anthems. Unfortunately their time together was short lived. 3 albums later the duo disbanded and faded into oblivion.

Salt N Pepa
A trio to some, this duo is known as Hip Hop pioneers particularly in the realm of female rap. Like all girl groups their share of problems was a big secret for years. Most recently their problems were examined, revealed, and resolved via the VH1 reality show, "The Salt-N-Pepa" show.

There you go! Did I miss anybody? I probably did. I will not do any labels for posts like these when there is such an overflow of names. I hope you enjoyed this. There will be more very soon.
