Music Biz:
Omarion Talks New Singles, Videos!

Any dancer cannot deny the influence of Michael Jackson. One in particular, Omarion, is paying homage to the King of Dance by dedicating his new music videos to him.

The clip for the R&B singer’s first single, “I Get It In” featuring Gucci Mane, will debut next week. He is also working on a video for “Hoodie,” a viral single from his new album Ollusion, due January 12.

“‘Hoodie’ is a viral single. We’re putting it out there for the fans. Both videos ['Hoodie' and 'I Get It In'] are dedicated to Michael Jackson. It’s a mix between ‘Beat It’ and ‘Bad,’” the former B2K member tells Rap-Up.com.

O describes the clip’s dance-heavy premise. “When I pull up, I’m getting out the car, we start choreography and then it keeps going until the end of the video. I’m telling you right now, this is probably one of the dopest videos you’ve seen in a long time because it’s a concept.”

Happy Halloween! Throwback Video: Michael Jackson - Thriller

Just in time for Halloween, Michael Jackson's "Thriller" is one of the most popular songs for Halloween. It is the title track of his breakthrough album which is the best-selling album of all-time. This is not the original video but it is Micheal performing "Thriller" live. Watch it below!

Throwback Video: Monica - Before You Walk Out Of My Life

For some reason Monica's "Before You Walk.." popped in my head so I youtubed the video and now it is the throwback video for the night along with the other below. Check it out!

Throwback Video: 3LW featuring Lil' Wayne - Neva Get Enuf

"Neva Get Enuf" is an underrated song from 3LW and a personal favorite of mine. This song came right during the end of 3LW and their move to performing as 'The Cheetah Girls'. The video and song also features Lil' Wayne who wasn't quite as big as he is now. Also the video only features two of the members of 3LW, Kiely Williams and Adrienne Bailon. If you recall Naturi Naughton(of "Fame" and "Notorious") was in the group as well.

Music Biz:
Melanie Fiona Talks Debut Album!

Melanie Fiona's debut has been a long time coming. After multiple delays, an internet leak this past summer and an early (Oct. 20) iTunes digital release Fiona's debut album, "The Bridge," will finally be available on Nov. 20 on Title 9/SRC/Universal Motown. Now, the Guayanese-born, Canadian-raised singer/songwriter is ready to flood the airwaves with as "many singles as we can."

"My album's been ready since 2008 -- over a year now -- and although I'm not the first or the last artist to experience push-backs, it's definitely a test to see who is in it for the long run," Fiona tells Billboard.com, admitting she was nervous about losing momentum. "The type of music I make doesn't fit the mold of pop or R&B, and sometimes it takes radio a bit longer to catch up. But now that the connection is there and things are coming together, I'm ready to release as many singles as we can."

According to Fiona, the next single might be the very pertinent "Ay Yo," with lyrics like, "I don't do this for the glory, or for what people might say / I'm gonna do this my own way, starting today," over horns and simplistic guitar strings.
Like everyone else, I too like "It Kills Me" and I heard previews of the "The Bridge" and a lot of the other songs sound dissimilar to this one.

Mathew Knowles Plotting Against LeToya?
A source in the Knowles camp tells us that Mathew truly despises Letoya Luckett and has been using payola to pay off DJ’s at radio stations not to play Letoya’s music. Letoya’s new single “Regret” doesn’t get any bigger than it already is. Our source says that Mathew thinks Letoya’s success will overshadow Beyonce’s if Letoya’s music gets as much airplay exposure as Beyonce’s.

We also learned that Beyonce is aware of what’s going on but won’t say anything to stop her dad. Apparently, she trusts Matthew and what he’s doing. Bossip researched and found out that Letoya’s single is in the top 5 spot on Urban radio charts, showing that the song has the potential to be played at the top urban radio stations in heavy rotation, yet it’s not.

Hmmm… we wonder why. We hear that Matthew is covering up the payola expense to pay off radio stations by saying the money is being used to go and review Beyonce’s tour shows at various venues. We hear he hasn’t had trouble with east coast stations because of their affiliations with Jay-Z, but the west coast stations haven’t been as easy.

As if this wasn’t enough, our source tells us this is only the tip of the iceberg and Matthew has more up his sleeves. Such a shame, Letoya didn’t even bad mouth Matthew when we chopped it up with her a couple of months ago
Oh boy. Mathew Knowles is up to it again huh? Well could be true, could be not. Also Capitol[Records] hasn't exactly been supporting LeToya themselves even though "Regret" is doing really well on radio. It seems like the song's success would put some renewed interest in not only LeToya but her album.

Music Biz:
Rihanna's New Album Details
!
Rihanna's Rated R will come out November 23 and feature new collaborations with the man behind her biggest hit so far. The-Dream, who wrote "Umbrella," penned a couple of tracks for the new LP.

"Me and Rihanna, she just cut the last of the two records we did. It's a record called 'Rock Star,' " the singer-song writer divulged earlier this week, backstage at the Izod Center in New Jersey. "The first record is a record called 'Hard,' which features [Young] Jeezy. Both of those records are pretty insane."

Dream declined to go into much detail about the tracks, but said the Rihanna/ Jeezy collaboration is one for the record books.

" 'Hard,' I want that song to explain itself," he said. "Most of the stuff I wrote — still to this day what I write — I try to find out through people — what they're going through or what they gotta say. Then we put that in."

Dream also said that nobody has to worry about Jeezy's verse. The Snowman delivered as always.

"Oh, c'mon, he killed it! You know Young killed it," Dream smiled. "That's ATL right there. That's all we do."

Last week, Rihanna released the single "Russian Roulette," which was written by Ne-Yo.

"I trust Rihanna to be Rihanna, and she trusts me to be me," Ne-Yo recently told MTV News. "That's the coolest thing about our relationship. I don't expect anything more from her. I must say this song is a step in somewhat of a different direction for both of us. We kind of both took a chance."

Sean Garrett has also written for the album, with Polow Da Don lending production
Plies' Good Deed!
Rapper Plies did a good deed during a recent concert at Florida State University. After noticing a young fan in the crowd he paid the little girl $1,000 to leave.

Plies was set to perform his smash hit 'Bust It Baby,' but felt the little girl was too young to hear the song's raunchy lyrics.

After pulling $1,000 out of his pocket and handing it to the girl, he told her to have her parents take her somewhere "nice."

Although there's no word on why the youngster was allowed to attend the concert in the first place, Plies' actions added a nice touch to an event deemed controversial to some. Atlanta rapper Gucci Mane was billed to headline the event amid the opposition of some students who felt the former trap-star's lyrics were too violent. Gucci later pulled out due to house arrest. He was not able to get the trip cleared as he was forced to remain home leading up to his October 26 court date for alleged parole violation.

The rappers recently collaborated on the song 'Wasted,' which will appear on Gucci's forthcoming release 'The State vs. Radric Davis.' They are also rumored to have a track together on Plies' next album, 'Goon Affiliated.'

I liked Monica's show(well the first episode)and I do plan to watch regularly. Monica's album is no longer coming out in December but January 2010 instead. Monica will release two singles; one a ballad written by Ester Dean of "Drop It Low" fame called "Here I Am" and the other single "Nothing Like" featuring T-Pain. Both songs are produced by Polow Da Don.

Jay-Z, Alicia Keys Video Teaser!

In a day or two the full version of "Empire State Of Mind" will more than likely leak; that's how it always goes. Check out an exclusive preview of the video below!

I was just thinking about Alicia Keys and her single, "Doesn't Mean Anything" tanking and a lot of people say its because of her situation with Swizz Beats. Personally I don't think that's the problem. Alicia just came with a really weak single. If she came out with a strong single, she'd have no problem racing up the charts.

Music Biz:
Whitney Houston Continues To Thrill With New Album!

"There’s nothing as exciting as a comeback – seeing someone with dreams, watching them fail and then getting a second chance," says actress Rachel Griffiths.

Clive Davis continues to treat the rejuvenated Whitney Houston like a piece of fragile china.

Whitney is Clive’s greatest discovery and he has been her faithful supporter through thick and thicker. Now that Whitney is in serious comeback mode with her "I Look to You" CD, Clive is even more solicitous and careful not to allow anything to break the spell of her recovery.

Clive went with Whitney to the UK for an appearance on the popular "X Factor" show. (That’s where the strap of her gown snapped – a wardrobe malfunction but not a big reveal. Whitney acted fast to recover. Re-cover?)

Now we hear that Clive is planning for Whitney to guest on the "Dancing With the Stars" finale. No, she won’t dance. She’ll sing something from her new album and hope to "move" several thousand more discs out of the stores.
Robin Thicke Preps New Album!
Blue-eyed pop-soul singer Robin Thicke has revealed the list of features for his upcoming fourth album Sex Therapy, which drops December 8.

Jay-Z, Kid Cudi, Estelle, Jazmine Sullivan, and Snoop Dogg are all confirmed to appear, whilst the production will be handled by Danja, Polow Da Don, The Neptunes, Swizz Beatz, Jeff Bhasker, Surf Club and more.

“The album, as a whole, is actually the first time I didn’t write and produce everything myself,” he revealed. “I tried to create a new sound that I had never had before. A lot of people are telling me it’s the best album yet, so I’m really excited.

Toni Braxton Reveals New Album Details!

A lot has been mentioned about Toni Braxton's new album. There have been numerous leaks and what not. One thing I have noticed is how Toni has said herself that this album will have a "reggae feel" but yet every song I hear(that's leaked) is some type of ballad. I don't want an album full of ballads Toni! I know that's your specialty but still. I will go on to say that Toni Braxton is very consistent album wise and there is not an album in her catalog that I don't like. I hope I like this one too.

Singer Toni Braxton previewed her new album and debut from Atlantic Records Oct. 19th to an exclusive crowd in New York City. The album includes smoldering ballads and a few uptempos to keep her fans and competition on their toes. Among the favorites were, “No Way, No How,” “Make My Heart,” “Looking At You,” and the pop leaning ballad “Wait For You.”

The crowd was exceptionally pleased with the R&B-laden track, “Hands Tied,” and which Mrs. Braxton says, “I can love you with my hands tied, I can please you with my hands tied,” while on the track, “Not Enough (Woman),” she explains to her love, “All I needed was for you to tell me I’m beautiful but your not even talking at all.” Braxton’s current single, “Yesterday,” and remix featuring Trey Songz has been receiving a positive response with her album scheduled for release in February 2010.
Omarion Speaks Out On Rihanna's New Single!
“I don’t personally know Rihanna’s beliefs but I think there’s a very dark and very sinister part of the entertainment business and I think it’s very visible,” he said. “This is something that a lot of people don’t look at [but for example] Michael Jackson used to be a Jehovah’s Witness and I remember hearing that he wanted to separate from the religion — and this was during the time that he was doing ‘Thriller’ [which ended up being] his biggest album.”

“Fast forward to now,” Omarion continued, “[and] it really made me think that there is a [time as an artist] where there’s going to be a choice. The[entertainment] world [dictates] that you have to be with three or four women, or do this in order to get that [and] I think it’s really interesting. With God and the industry, it’s really dark. The dark side is having to get in, there’s a certain submission you need to have. Just like a gang [initiation], so to speak. You might have to do something against your moral code. I’m not saying that it’s always this way, but when you’re someone that is young and you’re coming up in the industry and you really don’t have a grip on your morals it can be very dark. The game is just about over saturation.

“I don’t know if Rihanna [has fallen victim to those pressures]. I’ve never really heard her speak about it,” he said. “I hope that she doesn’tbelieve in that stuff and I don’t think that she does, but I don’t know. It’s not just been a Rihanna thing, [there's has been religious speculation] about a lot of artists.”
Rihanna definitely has a lot of ground to cover. There are so many different rumors going on regarding her. There is also the whole thing about whether or not she will speak about the Chris Brown situation.

Diddy Moves Over To Interscope Records!
After Diddy signed a lucrative new solo deal with Interscope Records, the future of his artists on Bad Boy came into question after it was confirmed that they would stay on at Warner/Atlantic without him.

One artist who won’t have to worry though is Cassie, with her former mentor Ryan Leslie confirming that the “Me & U” will be making the switch over to Interscope with Diddy.

Not only will Diddy release his new album with Dirty Money, Last Train to Paris, through Interscope, but he will also form his own new label under the Interscope umbrella.

It also looks like Cassie and Ryan Leslie have patched things up, with Ryan confirming that the two have been in contact and that he’s willing to work on her much-delayed sophomore album Electro Love.

“With this album she really wanted to go in a direction that was different to the music that I make, and I wanted her to have that artistic freedom to express herself in the way that she wanted to. But whenever she’s ready to work again, if she wants to revisit and collaborate, [then] my studio is wide open”.

“Her very first album was really my expression through her, so as she learned she began to get a point of view and a perspective that she wanted to try something new, so as long as she’s doing it to the best of her ability then I support it 100%”.

Electro Love and Last Train to Paris will be released some time next year.

I remember the little clip of Trina grinding on a car and it was for this clip of Flo Rida's "Touch Me" video from his "R.O.O.T.S." album in stores now! Check it out below!

Brandy's Upcoming Album Details!

It was just last year when Brandy released her ill-fated, "Human" album which tanked due to lack of direction and not a real hit single. Now working hard on a new album, due next year, producers involved in the project talk exclusively about the album. Check it out!

UrbanBridgez.com recently caught up with Sean from from the production team Kadis & Sean for our anniversary interview series, starting November 2nd! We asked him about the upcoming Brandy album they’re currently working on. “We’re really going in!” You’ll hear and can expect a much deeper and much more authentic Brandy. Similar to what she was in the beginning, but not as commercialized. It’s raw, there’s energy there!” Sean also says about working with Brandy on her upcoming album, “It’s real music, real lyrics…She’s very much involved! In everything we’ve done (for her project) and will be. Everything we’ve done has been from scratch, so she’s very involved in the creative process. So you’ll be able to feel the music more so than just listen to it sonically.”

The production teams artist Audio Push, was scheduled to release their mixtape “The SOUNDCHECK” yesterday, however it’s still not on their official MySpace: www.myspace.com/audiopush Brandy can be heard singing the hook on the song “Aviator.” The huge hit “Teach Me How To Jerk” as well as the “Ice Cream Paint Job Remix,” is also featured on the mixtape.

In other Brandy news, she will introduce her new alter-ego Bran’Nu on Timbaland’s upcoming “Shock Value II” being release on November 23rd. Brandy will also be on the new Snoop Dogg album “Malice N Wonderland,” she’s featured on the track “Special” along-side Pharrell. Snoops album will be in stores December 8th!

Brandy’s New Album is Expected Sometime Next Year!
Robin Thicke Preps New Album!
If the first single is any indication, Robin Thicke will be doing lots of sexual healing on his new album. The project has an official title and release date.

The 32-year-old singer’s fourth studio effort will be released on December 8, Rap-Up.com can confirm. The follow-up to last year’s Something Else will be titled Sex Therapy. The Polow Da Don-produced lead single of the same name goes to iTunes on October 20.

In addition to Polow, Thicke has been working with Jeff Bhasker, Scott Storch, and Surf Club on Sex Therapy, which he describes as “different than anything I’ve ever done before.”

Meanwhile, the “Lost Without U” hitmaker is helping “Gossip Girl” actress Leighton Meester launch her music career by dueting with her on her debut single “Somebody to Love,” penned by Rico Love.
Michael Jackson's New Album Set To Debut At #1!
As Michael Jackson's movie "This Is It" is about to open in theaters, the film's companion album of the same name is already doing brisk business.

Industry prognosticators suggest that the Epic Records set -- which was released on Monday, Oct. 26 -- could shift 300,000 copies by week's end on Sunday (Nov. 1) night.

Music Biz:
Clive Davis Talks New Jennifer Hudson Album!
Music mogul and mentor Clive Davis has revealed some new details about Jennifer Hudsons upcoming sophomore album, which should be out some time next year.

“The key is in the material. [Hudson] has grown as an artist in this past year. She is more soulful. But the real challenge with a ‘pop’ artist is to come up with those songs that are special,” Davis told HitFix. “That is the challenge for every young artist who is still trying to make a lifelong career. They’re still dependent on radio play… You gotta have the hits. So we have several candidates for it.”

Also helping out on the new album is Ne-Yo, who produced Jennifers #1 R&B hit “Spotlight”. In addition to writing some new records for the singer, he may even take the reigns as the albums executive producer. [Source]

Rihanna Unveils New Album Cover!

Her most recent single, “Slow Dance,” rising to #2 on BET’s “106 & Park” countdown (October 16); and now this week earning a pair of American Music Awards nominations, Keri Hilson has shot from “star on the horizon” to “a new star has arrived.” Despite just one album to her credit, Hilson has been AMA-nominated for Favorite Female Artist (Soul/R&B) along with Beyonce and Keyshia Cole. She has also been nominated as the T-Mobile Soul/R&B Breakthrough Artist along with Jeremih.

Coincidentally, Keyshia Cole appears as a guest vocalist on In A Perfect World… (Mosley Music Group/Zone 4/Interscope). Produced by Timbaland, Polow Da Don, Danja, and others, the album was released in March 2009 and debuted #4 on the Billboard 200 and #1 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart. In A Perfect World… has also spun off two previous hit singles: “Turnin’ Me On” (featuring Lil Wayne) peaked at #15 on the Hot 100 and #2 R&B/Hip-Hop, and “Knock You Down” (featuring Kanye West and Ne-Yo) reached #3 Hot 100 and #1 R&B/Hip-Hop.
Rihanna Performs At AMAs!

Rihanna has performed twice on the show in the past and won three awards, including Favorite Soul/R&B Female Artist and Favorite Pop/Rock Female Artist.

Jay-Z, Alicia Keys, Jennifer Lopez, Black Eyed Peas, and Taylor Swift have previously been announced as performers. The AMAs will broadcast live from Los Angeles’ NOKIA Theatre L.A. LIVE on Sunday, November 22, at 8 p.m. EST/PST on ABC.

December 15

Now that the fourth quarter of music releases is under way, you can expect a major shake up in release dates. Everyone is trying to get a piece of the holiday sales that come along with Black Friday, Thanksgiving, and Christmas, and afterwards.

'Super Tuesday' is a phrase used to describe a huge number of releases for that given Tuesday specifically for albums. In the next month or two you will see plenty of 'Super Tuesday[s]' and December 15(which is on a Tuesday) is good enough to write about hence the post title.

Check out the the releases and some slight info below!

Alicia Keys, The Element Of Freedom
First single, "Doesn't Mean Anything" isn't exactly setting the charts on fire like a typical Alicia Keys release. There seems to be a bit of backlash from the whole Swizz Beats/Mashonda incident and "Doesn't Mean Anything" sounding too much like "No One". I don't care much for Alicia Keys but I do like a handful of her songs. How will her album fare in the long run? We will have to wait and see....and hear.

Mary J. Blige, Stronger
Way before its original November release date, Mary J. Blige rushed out single, "The One" featuring Drake. Obviously it was a move to capitalize off the buzz Drake has been experiencing. The song has done moderately well but not well enough. Now new single, "Said & Done" produced by Ryan Leslie is being pushed. A lot of songs from this album have leaked and a lot of them have been pretty forgettable. Suddenly I'm starting to have a bad feeling about this album.

R. Kelly, Untitled
R. Kelly's serial delayed album, "Untitled" actually has a hit single in the Keri Hilson-assisted, "Number One". I like "Number One" but I forgot about it pretty quickly. I'm hoping R. Kelly can deliver a solid album especially since Trey Songz is slowly trying to take his place.

Chris Brown, Graffiti
The backlash that Chris Brown experienced earlier is basically in the past. New single, "I Can Transform Ya" featuring Lil' Wayne & Swizz Beats is a hit! The new single, "Crawl" is being serviced to radio. Also Chris is featured on Ester Dean's "Drop It Low" single which is doing really well.

Lil' Wayne, Rebirth
Here we go again! This album has been pushed back so many times, it has basically joined the ranks of other serial delayed albums such as Dr. Dre's "Detox".

Young Money, TBA
I don't know why Young Money is dropping an album now. They should of dropped an album around the peak of "Every Girl" which was a monster hit! I was starting to think there would be no album from the group.

Birdman, Pricele$$
I don't know much about this album except it will feature "Always Strapped" and I believe there is another song that's out now that will be featured on this. Anyone know the name of it? Anybody even care?

Throwback Video! Alicia Keys - How Come You Don't Call Me Anymore

I was with my friend last night and we were talking and Alicia Keys' name came up. She mentioned how she liked "How Come You Don't Call Me Anymore" and I revealed to her that it was Prince remake, which she didn't know.

Taken from her debut album, "Songs In A Minor" which was a big hit! I can remember everyone liking that album but I personally never got into it or Alicia Keys but this is one of the few songs I do like from Ms. Alicia! Watch it below!

Timbaland Unveils New Album Cover Art!

So the much talked about and much hyped new album from Timbaland, "Shock Value II" will be in stores November 24. There is a huge guest list of artists featured(or said to be featured) on this album including Keri Hilson, Jay-Z, and Nelly Furtado among others.

Music Biz:
Mario Sets New Billboard Record!

The last time Mario saw the pinnacle of Billboard's Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart was in 2005. That's when "Let Me Love You"-from his 2004 second album, "Turning Point"-reached No. 1. Four years and two albums later, the Baltimore crooner finds himself close to reclaiming that zenith.

This week, "Break Up" logs its 11th week at No. 2 on the tally. Featuring Sean Garrett and Gucci Mane, it's the lead single from Mario's fourth album, "D.N.A." Debuting this week at No. 9 on the Billboard 200 and No. 2 on Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums, the J Records/RCA Music Group set was released Oct. 13. "Break Up" also gives Mario his fourth top five R&B hit, joining predecessors "Just a Friend," which reached No. 4 in 2002, and the Ne-Yo-penned "Let Me Love You" and "Crying Out for Me," which peaked at No. 5 in 2008.

" 'Break Up' was originally created for someone else, but I beat it out of Sean [who co-wrote and co-produced the track] until he eventually gave it to me," Mario jokes. "A lot of this album is about letting females know that I know what it is they go through sometimes in relationships. So this song was like a conversation that I had to have with my fans."
Robin Thicke, Wife Expecting Child!
Paula Patton and Robin Thicke have something else to celebrate besides their booming careers. The power couple and high school sweethearts, who have been married four years, are expecting their first child, according to Usmagazine.com. Thicke, 32, said the sweetest thing about his special lady on Tuesday night at the 2009 Angel Ball in NYC: "She could make a marriage work with a chair," he said of Patton, 33. "She's an incredible woman, and she's very beautiful, so I'm just lucky to be with her."—ZH

RAY J TALKS NEW SHOWS WITH BRANDY!

Ray J is about to premiere his second season of his reality TV show, "For The Love Of Ray J 2". There were rumors abound that the show was filming but it had been denied but true enough it has resurfaced again. You can always count on these dating reality shows starring a certain celeb to have at least two seasons on air and if the franchise is really popular(like "Flavor Of Love"), you might get more than two seasons.

Music Biz:
Rodney Jerkins Talks Janet's New Album!

“I’ve always been a fan of her music and what her and Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis have done in the past. And I felt like, knowing she wants to try new things, that I feel I can get it and I can deliver it for her.

“Since we’ve been working … I feel like the studio has become a second home for her because with the whole situation with Michael [Jackson] happening, and I feel like right now, emotionally, she can come here and let all her feelings out. I got her writing again — she has the pen and the pad in her hand.

“You gotta understand, she lost her brother. She was in a relationship for seven years that’s over now. There’s things that she told me that I didn’t even realize. You know, certain [things] like self-esteem that I didn’t even realize that she dealt with for years that you know. … She’s working on her book and she’ll deal with that in her book, but also in songs, certain songs we’re dealing with that head on. And sometimes it can be a touchy subject for us to even go into, and I kinda had to persuade her, ‘Let’s just go, let’s talk about that.’ And she’s been doing it, and she’s a pro about it.

“It’s funny, ’cause when we just started the project, she was like, ‘I wanna do 10 dance records, all up-tempo to dance. Let’s just go dance,’ ” Jerkins said. The sound is inspired by worldwide influences, from African rhythms to Brazilian and Latin music, and RJ said we can expect features on this album like a Pitbull track that was recorded last week.

“But she hits me today and she says we need to do some mid-tempos as well,” Rodney continued. “And I’m glad for that because there’s a time when you listen to a record that you wanna mellow out and she always gives us those great smoothed-out mellow records. So now that she’s in that zone, it’s like ‘Yes!’ ’cause we can focus on that. But I’m still gonna keep the beats hard underneath ’cause she’s still a dancer at heart.”

Janet & Darkchild recently co-produced the song “Make Me” together, which appears on Janet’s new greatest hits album Number Ones.
I wish Janet would work with some other producers(which she may be) besides Rodney Jerkins. I did like the songs he did on "Discipline" but as a person he irks me so maybe I shouldn't be like that but I don't care.

An article regarding this performance can be found in the post below this one. Whitney is back and in full swing in this performance recorded in Italy. Watch it below!

WHITNEY HOUSTON DELIVERS TOP NOTCH PERFORMANCE!

Anytime Whitney Houston performs it is a big deal! Why? Well aside from her being a trooper when she has a wardrobe malfunction, Whitney's voice is always the center of attention. People are obviously still adjusting to Whitney's new voice but that is not really the case here. Below you will find out about Whitney's latest performance overseas cause that's where she is right now promoting new album, "I Look To You".

The pressure was on, but Whitney Houston nailed it.

After her wardrobe malfunction on the X Factor at the weekend, and with music critics still wondering if she can really pull off her comeback, her performance on the Italian version of the TV star search was a pivotal one.

Lucky then that she rose to the challenge – delivering a show-stopping live rendition of her track Million Dollar Bill.

The 46-year-old diva had the audience up and on their feet, clapping along as she belted out the track.

And there was no repeat of last week's strap-snapping episode - her elegant white Dolce & Gabbana gown stayed perfectly in place.

Whitney is on course for a top five hit with her new single, which is vying for success in the charts against Cheryl Cole's effort Fight For This Love.

The American diva's track Million Dollar Bill will be her first top five single since My Love Is Your Love in July 1999. She also has one of the week's biggest-selling albums with I Look To You.
Corrine Bailey Rae Talks New Album!
Corinne Bailey Rae is set to sail on a new journey in her career with the release of her new album The Sea on Feb. 2, it was announced Thursday.

The singer, 30, whose husband Jason was found dead in March 2008, has spoken of how she has channeled her grief into some of the new songs.

"I hope you guys will like it and be into it," she says in a video on her Web site. The Leeds-based singer also says she co-produced the new record and promises "some hints" of the new work and behind-the-scenes footage will come to the site.

Rae's 2006 debut song "Put Your Records On" sold 4 million copies. Prior to the February release of her album, she will perform some new shows in the U.S., as well as a Nov. 23 London concert.
I never got into Corrine but I'm trying to remember if I heard about her husband or not. Sad stuff!

Kelly Rowland Talks Record Deal!
Kelly Rowland has been in and out of the studio prepping her first album since parting ways with Columbia Records and Mathew Knowles’ Music World Entertainment earlier this year. One of today’s most sought-after hitmakers, Rico Love, spoke to Rap-Up.com about his involvement with the Destiny’s Child alum’s third solo album.

“I’m actually going to be doing the majority of her record,” reveals the songwriter behind Beyoncé’s “Sweet Dreams” and Mario’s “Thinkin’ About You.” “I did three records for her album so far and she’s touring right now.”

The host of Bravo’s “The Fashion Show” won’t have much downtime during her holiday vacation as there are plans to complete the follow-up to 2007’s Ms. Kelly by January. “I believe we’re going to finish the album over the Christmas break,” says Love, whose latest work includes Leighton Meester’s first single “Somebody to Love” featuring Robin Thicke.

Rowland is reportedly close to finalizing a new deal with EMI Music, home to David Guetta, LeToya Luckett, and Snoop Dogg, but an official announcement has yet to be made. “I believe she’s doing her deal right now. She’s in the process of closing a pretty big deal. I don’t think she’s going to say yet. She’s got the No. 1 song in the world with David Guetta, ‘When Love Takes Over.’”

Her latest gig comes in the form of playing 50 Cent’s love interest in the video for “Baby by Me” off the rapper’s new album Before I Self Destruct.

D. WOODS NEW ALBUM COVER!

Who knew? D. Woods formerly of Danity Kane is releasing an album due December 8. I can't say I know much about it. Does anyone else?

Music Biz:
Lil' Wayne's Gun Charges!

The Grammy-winning rapper Lil Wayne has pleaded guilty to attempted weapon possession, and expects to receive a one-year jail sentence.

He previously had pleaded not guilty to illegal gun possession charges that carried at least 3 1/2 years in prison upon conviction.

Police said a gun was found on his tour bus in Manhattan in 2007.

The rapper, born Dwayne Carter, won last year's best rap solo performance Grammy for "A Milli." His albums include "Tha Carter," "Tha Carter II" and "Tha Carter III."
Chris Brown Talks Rihanna!
Chris Brown granted his first radio interview since the February altercation with his then-girlfriend Rihanna on Wednesday (Oct. 21) to New York radio station Hot 97 (WQHT). During the talk with host Angie Martinez, Brown -- who spent the majority of the air-time stressing his deep regrets for his actions -- said he is "tight" with Oprah Winfrey for her lack of support.

"I don't dis her because I respect what she does for women around the world. But we did so many things together as far as me working for her schools in Africa, that I feel at the time I needed a helping hand, not for my career but as a person, instead of her pointing fingers," said Brown. "At the end of the day, you have opinions and thoughts, and that isn't wrong, but it's not right to judge someone when people make mistakes all the time. I learned from mine, I'm still learning and I regret every moment, every second."

Additionally, Brown said about Jay-Z, who was rumored to be the reason why Brown wasn't asked to perform during this year's BET Awards, "I have no issues with dude. Honestly, I don't know and I don't think it was him."

Brown went on to praise the support of others in the industry who stood by him, such as Will Smith and Sean "P. Diddy" Combs. "As a young man I needed older black role models to mold me. I didn't need people bashing me or shutting the door on me," he said.

MAXWELL UNVEILS NEW SINGLE COVER!

Kanye West Part Of A Death Hoax!
Kanye West associate Amber Rose has cleared up rumors which began Wednesday (October 21) morning claiming the award-winning producer had mysteriously died.

Writing via Twitter, Rose lashed out against the gossip and also began a trending topic called LongLiveYeezy.

"This RIPKanyeWest topic is not funny and its NOT TRUE! He has people like myself and his family that love him very much," she wrote Wednesday morning. "Its in extreme poor taste to have that as a trendy topic. It's totally disrespectful to make up a story like this where all human and we all make mistakes and to say someone died cuz of a mistake is ridiculous. U wouldn't want someone to say that about u. Or someone u love it's not funny." (Amber Rose's Twitter)

Reports of Yeezy's alleged passing circulated early Wednesday.

It is believed to have started on social networking site Twitter. The phrase " RIP Kanye West" was one of the top tags on Twitter in the early hours on Wednesday and the phrase "Kanye West Dead" was the top search trend on Google overnight. This shows how rapidly false information can travel because of social networking sites. (My Fox News)

Shyne Deported Back To Belize?

Rapper Jamal "Shyne" Barrow will reportedly be deported to his country of origin, Belize, and will continue to fight for his right to return to the United States.

According to radio personality Miss Info, details on when he will be forced to leave the United States have not yet been revealed.

Shyne's team is fighting to stay in the US where his mother and his grandmother live and where they raised him....but it seems like he's going to have to continue the fight from Belize. Shyne will be released from Immigration custody but will then be deported to Belize soon. He has Harvard Professor Charles Ogletree advocating on his behalf in concert with his legal team. They're still urging fans to reach out to Governor Patterson's office to petition for Shyne's pardon, but deportation is imminent. (Miss Info TV)

Shyne's uncle, Michael Finnegan, recently updated the media on his nephew's situation.

"All the lawyers who were dealing with his immigration problems, they are totally off the case now," he revealed in an interview. "The matter is placed squarely in the hands of Professor Ogletree. All legal options or legal directions or whatever the case may be in terms of legal movements, these are now in the hands of Professor Ogletree. He has stepped in totally, he was given permission to deal with the situation in all its aspects. Jamaal's father who is the Prime Minister [of Belize] is one of the best attorneys in this country and I would want to believe he has total confidence in Ogletree, and I believe the family knows what it is doing." (Belizean)
I remember logging on to twitter and seeing "RIP Kanye West" as a trending topic and I was like "Oh wow is it true?". To add earlier I was watching E! and across the screen I saw something flash about Amber Rose so I really thought it was true for a minute.

Tiffany Evans Sounds Off On Rihanna's New Single!

“Russian Roulette= Suicidal Rate gon sky rocket! You gotta watch what you say because there are a lot of weak people in the world. They are susceptible to anything so anything you say or do, some people actually do listen. So make sure it’s nothing bad. It’s okay to be deep, but not murder deep. Man! I really wish I could tell you guys what the industry really is and what stars are apart of destroying this world. The stars who worship satan, and those who have killed to get the respect they have now. You’d be verrrry surprised. Some of your favorite people pretend to worship God but they only do that to save face. Or seem innocent. Satan was head of music in heaven. He uses influential people…to help influence the world. Think about that. Once you make a certain amount of money. Just know that that’s when they ask you to join. To get in you have accept the beast, worship. Once you join they assist you with your career. Make you huge. Only if you agree and obey to destroy Gods word and his children. Ppl listen and pay attention. Its a war going on right now between Good and Evil. Evil will rule this world for a min. The people that have this power are the people that RULE the whole world. I’m done. I won’t say anymore before I get in trouble.” – Tiffany Evans
I remember reading something before on a message board regarding Tiffany Evans and the impression I got was that she has become increasingly weird since her music career has never quite popped off. She is definitely entitled to her opinion but I think she's just jealous!

Rihanna Rumors

Rihanna just released her debut single, "Russian Roulette" over her upcoming album, "Rated R" which will be in stores November 23. This will mark Rihanna's first album as a superstar. Rihanna's last album, "Good Girl Gone Bad" made her a music sensation. Like many artists Rihanna has been the subject of many rumors; some funny and some downright vicious.

Dating Justin Timberlake - It was recently announced that Justin Timberlake and Rihanna shacked up(slept together). Both stars denied the rumors but Rihanna was reportedly very upset about the story! How come? Probably because it was true and her ass got caught!

Satan Worshiper - My friend told me about a creepy video out regarding Rihanna's "Umbrella" video where it is believed that the singer is a devil worshiper. I've never watched the video frankly because I've been too chicken to watch. I will say the video for "Run This Town" though definitely makes those type of rumors look even more true and with Tiffany Evan's recent rant this whole devil worship rumor is starting to have legs.

Dating Jay-Z - It is industry legend that Rihanna got busy with her former boss, Jay-Z. The rumored affair sparked Jay-Z's wife, Beyonce to come out swinging with "Ring The Alarm", an alleged swipe at Rihanna. Both stars have denied the affair(of course) but there are many people who believe the rumors are indeed true.

Dating Drake - For awhile there pictures of Drake and Rihanna led many to believe that the two were dating or simply messing around. Both stars contend 'they are just friends'; the standard response to a question like that, whether it be true or not.

Chris Brown fight- Though we don't know the exact story behind the February 9th incident, there were many rumors regarding Rihanna's role in the fight. A lot of people alleged that Rihanna gave Chris some type of sexual disease or simply became too overbearing when it came to claims of cheating. Who knows?

As Rihanna sets out to release her new album, you can best believe that all eyes will be on her and her new album when it drops next month. The big question is "Will the album be a hit?". Time will tell!

Justin Timberlake Not Rushing New Album!

It has been four years since Justin's last album and as the singer states he is in no rush to record his next release.

Timberlake is waiting for some inspiration to hit him before he decides on his next solo direction. "So, until it kind of slaps me in the face, I'm going to tinker around with everything," he said. "I'm obviously not the type of artist who rushes anything. I've done, like, two records in the last eight years."

Timberlake enjoys the process of making music too much to rush it. "You know, I just believe that the process is what it's really all about. And if you make the process [like] what I was able to have the luck of tapping into for the first two [albums], the end comes out the way it comes out," he explained. "For me it is about the process — the discovery of whatever it is it's going to be. That's the most fun part."
Rihanna Preps New Album!
After much speculation, Def Jam Records announced today (Oct. 20) that Rihanna will be releasing her fourth studio album, "Rated R," on Nov. 23. "Russian Roulette," the first single, will premiere today at 11:23 a.m. EST on Rihanna's official website, rihannannow.com, while an accompanying video, directed by Anthony Mandler, will debut on ABC.

"Russian Roulette" was written and produced by labelmate Ne-Yo ("Take A Bow," "Hate That I Love You"). The-Dream, Christopher "Tricky" Stewart, Chase & Status and Justin Timberlake are among the other collaborators and producers who appear on "Rated R."

"Rated R" is the follow-up to 2007's "Good Girl Gone Bad," which spawned the hit single "Umbrella," among others, and the first official release from Rihanna since the February altercation with ex-boyfriend Chris Brown. The album has sold more than 2.5 million copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
Now that "Russian Roulette" has been released, the reaction to it has been mostly mixed(as far as I've read). I actually think the song is pretty good and a different set of pace for first single. I can see this song actually reaching classic or even cult status down the road. When I hear it I just get that vibe that 20 years from now when Rihanna performs this song, it will evoke a type of emotion that many will relate to in life.

Mariah Preps New Remix Album!
It's hard to please everyone, but Mariah Carey is setting out to do just that with a retooled version of her latest album, and she's brought along some famous friends. After Rap-Up broke the news of the songbird's plans to remix Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel, Tricky Stewart filled in on a few more details.

The "Obsessed" producer wouldn't quite categorize the work in progress as a remix album. "They've said that it's a remix album, but really what it is is a features album. [The songs] won't necessarily be remixed. It's just an album of features, really cool features on the exact same album."

According to Tricky, 90 percent of the record will contain a featured guest, while there's a small possibility of one or two all-new tracks. The as-yet-untitled project will go by the Memoirs title. "It will be the same name, but it will probably have something to it. I'm not sure what they're going to call it, but it's the same album."

The goal is to appeal to all of Carey's fans. "We wanted to do an album that was really personal, and if you love Mariah Carey, you can put it on and listen to it all day," began Tricky, "but at the same time, if you like the hot Mariah when she's doing the features, we want to give people that option too, so that they can put on whichever one they choose."

So far the lineup looks promising with T-Pain Auto-Tuning on "Candy Bling," the Southern hip-hop trio of Big Boi, Gucci Mane, and OJ Da Juiceman rapping on "H.A.T.E.U.," and Trey Songz crooning on "Inseparable." Tricky also revealed that R. Kelly appears on the opening cut "Betcha Gon' Know."

No release date has been set for the project.

Nas Owes Back Taxes!

Grammy-nominated rapper Nasir "Nas" Jones has had his tax problems land online with reports accusing him of owing the government over $2.5 million.

The rapper's financial crunch made headlines late Sunday (October 18) evening.

Kelis isn't the only person trying to get money from Nas -- turns out Uncle Sam is too! TMZ has obtained a federal tax lien filed last month against Nas for a whopping $2,584,206.31. Looks like Nas didn't pay his taxes in 2006 and 2007. Nas is currently involved in a bitter divorce battle with Kelis. Looks like she'll have to wait in line. (TMZ)

Ciara Talks New Album!

Ciara must have liked what she heard on Fantasy Ride this year. After working with producer Christopher "Tricky" Stewart on four of her album's 13 tracks, the singer has given Tricky and his songwriting partner The-Dream domain over the entirety of her follow-up disc. But what we heard a lot on Fantasy — and what we likely won't be hearing much on the new album — are Ciara's high-profile collaborations with other artists.

"At this point in my career, it's important for my fans to get to know more about me and to really feel me," she told MTV News on the red carpet Saturday at Justin Timberlake's charity event. "I've done a lot of features over the course of my career. I'm not saying that I won't do any, but I want really my fans to come into my world. I've been very blessed to work with a lot of cool people, but this time it is about knowing me more and hearing more of me."

Of course, Fantasy featured Ludacris, Chris Brown, Young Jeezy, Missy Elliott and Timberlake. The video for "Love Sex Magic," which featured JT, nabbed a Best Choreography nomination at this year's Video Music Awards.

Tricky recently told RapUp.com the name of two records they've recorded — "Gifted" and "Speechless," which actually features Ciara with The-Dream — but Ciara said those two tracks are only the beginning of the "really crazy, really fun" album they're putting together.

"I got on Tricky because he was spilling all the beans," she laughed. "Those two records that he named are definitely awesome records and there are some cool ones that I've done lately that are just even more amazing."

"It's kind of reminding me of how it was for me at the beginning of my career," she explained, "which is a really good feeling."
