Mariah Carey Debuts New Track!
NY's Hot 97 to Play New Mariah Song "100%" Tomorrow!Looks like Mariah is already pushing her second single and I wonder why? Could it be that "Obsessed" is not taking off as expected. When "Touch My Body" went to #1 it was a bit different then. Mariah was coming off a huge album and there was a huge anticipation for her debut single. Now with "Obsessed" Mariah is trying to salvage the mess that "E=MC2" was.
Earlier today, DJ Envy of the radio station Hot 97 in New York, played the new Mariah song "100%" on his show!
Jermaine Dupri who is the producer of the record talked about it on his Twitter page.
Jermaine Dupri: "envy is playing the new mariah record me and b cox did on hot 97 right now. make sure yall hit hot 97 and request that new mariah. the record is called 100%."
Unfortunately, due to the very short notice, it seems like nobody was able to tune in for the premiere of "100%." But good news! DJ Envy in his last tweet says:
DJ Envy: "Guys..I know u wanna hear the mariah joint...they are holding me back ill try 2 get it on..but will play 2moro at 2 for sure."
Chrisette Michele Goes Behind The Cameras For New Video!
Chrisette Michele will pull double duty this weekend, directing and starring in her new video.Anita Baker Plotting Return!
The soul lady will go behind the lens to shoot the clip for “Fragile,” the third single off her sophomore album Epiphany. Chrisette will direct a viral video for the song on Sunday featuring her pal Wale.
“I’m so into new media and different ways of promoting music and one of my favorite things to do is be online with promotion,” she tells Rap-Up.com. “We’re producing a video exclusively for the Internet.”
Chrisette is trading in her lavish lifestyle for simpler things in the clip. “We’re gonna keep it street. I’m not gonna be in stilettos this time. I’ll probably be in the latest pair of Nike kicks. It’s more of a chill vibe on this video.”
This is not her first time in the director’s seat. She previously directed the video for “Love Is You” from her debut album I Am.
Anita Baker is considering a live video and/or album for her next release, possibly in 2010. And she's not ruling out the possibility of some new music next year, either.
The Grammy Award-winning songstress filmed shows during the past year at the DTE Energy Music Theatre near her hometown of Detroit, Mich., in the Cayman Islands, and at the Mystic Lake Casino Hotel in Prior Lake, Minn. But Baker tells Billboard.com that, if the project moves forward, the bulk of the footage will likely come from two shows at New York's Radio City Music Hall over Valentine's Day weekend this past February.
As for when we might hear, or see, something new, however, Baker is circumspect. "The record company (Blue Note) wants next spring, and I would love for that to happen," she says. "That would be lovely, but we all are mindful of the fact that we want it to be right. So when they say spring, they really are planning for the fall. It's like...I'm a mom. If we want to be at brunch at 1, I have to tell my kids 12 o'clock -- you know what I mean?"
