Music Feed: The 2013 BET Awards Recap

This is the only blog that I know of that you will find a full recap of the 2013 BET Awards. The show ended nearly half an hour ago and if you missed the show, you missed quite the show. I will go as far as to say that this years awards trumped the previous years. Here's a little run down performance wise of who performed at the BET Awards. After that you can also see a full list of presenters, winners, and performers. Check it out!

The 2013 BET Awards show opened with a less than stellar performance from Chris Brown. He performed his hit single Fine China before going into his new single They Don't Know featuring Aaliyah. While his dancing was good Chris just didn't seem as into the performace as his past ones.

R. Kelly surprised everyone when he performed a medley of his hits including Bump N Grind, Contagious, When A Woman's Fed Up and more. His spike embedded outfit possibly stole the show. Robin Thicke was a highlight of the night performing the #1 hit Blurred Lines. Robin brought everyone to their feet and had the crowd rocking.

Miguel did his best Prince impression on How Many Drinks and showed up for numerous performances including Mariah's lip syncing disaster on #Beautiful and J. Cole's Power Trip.

Ciara got down and dirty for her performance on Body Party and I'm Out featuring Nicki Minaj. Janelle Monae closed the show with her single Q.U.E.E.N. featuring Erykah Badu.

2 Chainz performed his new single Feds Watching along with Fuckin Problem with ASAP Rocky and Kendrick Lamar. Pharrell joined Charlie Wilson, Justin Timberlake, and Snoop Dogg for the Charlie Wilson tribute. India.Arie, Jamie Foxx, and Stevie Wonder performed as well during the Charlie Wilson tribute.

Kendrick Lamar performed Bitch Don't Kill My Vibe with Erykah Badu. Erykah stole the show at the end when she turned and walked away with the camera zoomed in on her ass. The Twitter world was on fire talking about it as well!

Reggae was in full effect as veterans to the genre took the stage such as Elephant Man and Beenie Man. Tamela Mann brought the house down with Take Me To The King. Young Jeezy performed R.I.P. after his surprise appearance with Mariah Carey #Beautiful Remix.
Chris Tucker served as host and there were some funny moments. He did admit to taking the hosting gig to pay off the IRS. He poked fun at the artists who have been plagued by the IRS woes including Wesley Snipes and Ronald Isley. Chris also spoke about his personal relationships with Bill Clinton and Michael Jackson.

Album Spotlight: Ne-Yo - In My Own Words

It's probably starting to look like a Ne-Yo fan site here with all the recent posts mentioning him; but I assure you it is not. The hype behind Ne-Yo's debut album; "In My Own Words" reached a fever pitch thanks to the debut single; "So Sick". The song was a huge success including its singles; "Sexy Love", "When Ur Mad" and more.

Ne-Yo definitely plays up on his buzz by writing and producing many of the tracks. This album would lead to Ne-Yo being a very sought after songwriter and producer. It is the album of his I favor the most. I think as he progressed as an artist; I somewhat lost interest.

*UPDATED* Music Feed: Janet Jackson's Most Sexualized Songs: REVISITED

You all, my readers, my visitors; my supporters; you have made this post one of the most successful posts on my blog. I kept wondering what it was about this post, that made it so successful; one word: JANET! The fact that Janet has new music on the way makes this post even more of a hot topic. As its been said before, no one sings about sex quite like Janet Jackson. Her songs, ooze with the right amount of sexuality perfect for a night of steamy sex. Take a look back at a number of songs Janet is responsible for delivering her in trademark breathy delivery. I took the liberty of adding a few other songs that didn't make the list before.

This song begins with echos of Janet saying " my mouth". By then you should already know what this song is about. Janet sings about the "warmth" of her mouth and how she pleases her lover; Jermaine Dupri at the time. This is a very sensual song and it is one of the most explicit Janet has ever recorded …

Album Spotlight: Beyonce - Dangerously In Love

If you were in love in 2003, it wasn't official unless you were living "Dangerously In Love". It was the title of Beyonce's 2003 breakthrough solo album which spawned the singles, "Crazy In Love" featuring Jay-Z, "Baby Boy" featuring Sean Paul, "Me, Myself, and I", and the title track. The album would serve as a precursor of what was to come from this bonafide superstar. Unlike her later albums, "Dangerously" was deep-rooted in southern soul and R&B melodies. This album also showed a more gentler, sultry, and relaxed(voice wise) Beyonce. As opposed to the last few years her style has been more abrasive and in your face. Never one to be outdone, Beyonce was set to release a follow-up to this album titled, "Dangerously In Love 2" featuring unreleased songs but it didn't happen. From the seductive "Speechless" to the cautionary tale of "Me, Myself, and I", "Dangerously In Love" is m…
