Beyonce Collaborates With Andre 3000, Ashanti Sets New Album Release Date

Hello all! It's Lamar here with yet another music news update for the music news obsessed. Read below for info on the new collaboration between Beyonce and Andre 3000 and album news on Ashanti, Chris Brown, and Usher. It's all here.

Beyonce is pulling out all the stops to ensure that her new album Mrs. Carter(currently no release date) will be a sure fire success. The singer is linking up with former collaborator Andre 3000 to remake Amy Winehouse's song Back To Black. The collaboration will appear on the soundtrack to the upcoming remake of The Great Gatsby. The movie will be in theaters May 10. Jay-Z is coincidentally EP(Executive Producer) on the soundtrack.

All this added exposure for Beyonce(collaborations, magazine covers, buzz singles, upcoming tour) are all the perfect set up for her upcoming album Mrs. Carter.

One singer that used to always be compared to Beyonce was Ashanti. Though I think the comparisons were mostly spearheaded by Irv Gotti. I never thought Ashanti was personally "trying to be" like Beyonce but nonetheless she did give Beyonce some competition back in the day. Will she again? That remains to be seen.

It was just announced that Ashanti will release her new album Braveheart on June 11. The album features the new single Never Should Have. Coincidentally(notice certain words I like to use over and over on my blog) is also featured on her Lifetime series Army Wives. A video for the new single was recently shot in California and is set to be released later this month. An official press release was sent out to many of the major news publications today.

Braveheart has been in the works for nearly two years. Ashanti purposely pushed back the album to have a better set up i.e. Army Wives(for added exposure) and reworked some of the album's content and details. I'm not sure what producers and guests will make the final cut of the album. Rico Love, Busta Rhymes, R. Kelly, Tank, Detail(can't think of another artist he worked with off top of my head right now...Google anyone?), LT Hutton are the names attached to the project.

It's no secret now that Usher is back in the studio with JD(Jermaine Dupri). Now the singer has linked back up with Young Jeezy. The two linked up for Usher's 208 hit Love In This Club. Pictures recently surfaced of Usher and Young Jeezy in the studio. There is still no word on when we can expect a new album from Usher. My guess is sometime later this year or early next year.

Chris Brown has been making the rounds lately promoting new album X and new single/video Fine China. He has revealed that his next single will feature none other than Rihanna on a song titled Put It Up. I wonder will this be a sequel of sorts to Rihanna's current hit Pour It Up.

I guess we will have to tune in and find out. Well that is all for now folks. Catch you on the flipside and thanks for all the views!
