Music Feed: 2013 New Music Releases

We are less than two months away from 2013. As far as music goes the first few months of the new year are typically slow music wise. It looks like things are changing however as several key artists plan to release new albums at the top of 2013. I have the exclusive scoop on each album. Check it out!

Chris Brown - Carpe Diem
Not content on taking a break from music(much like his girlfriend Rihanna); Chris Brown just released his new single Nobody's Perfect. The song is the first single off the upcoming album Carpe Diem which will be released sometime early next year.

Remember the singer Karyn White? She is known for the hit song Superwoman? Well anyway she just released a new album independently so a lot of people likely don't know about it. Guess what though? Her album is titled Carpe Diem. Is Christopher stealing album titles? Then again he probably didn't even know nor would anyone else until now!

Ciara - One Woman Army
Like many other R&B releases Ciara's One Woman Army has faced its share of pushbacks. The album does have a chance of being released next month but its highly doubtful but you never know. Right now the release date stands as late 2012(which we are currently in) and early 2013.

One Woman Army is being executive produced by L.A. Reid. This marks Ciara's debut album for the Epic Records label. The album has spawned the singles Sweat featuring 2 Chainz(though it was pulled from radio prematurely), Sorry, and Got Me Good. Rick Ross is said to make a cameo. The Underdogs(worked with Whitney Houston) are one of the many producers attached. As I type this I'm suddenly getting a slight brain freeze as to the host of other producers attached to this album.

This album is an important album for Ciara so I can understand the careful thought process as Ciara's last two albums were flops. She'd be a fool to let this album have a similar fate.

J. Cole - Born Sinner
J. Cole broke the news that he would be releasing a new album in January titled Born Sinner. Below you can watch the teaser video for the upcoming album:

Azealia Banks - Broke With Expensive Taste
Azealia Banks reminds me of Foxy Brown when she first came out. She didn't give a fuck. She had good relationships with popular designers. The list goes on! Dare I say it Azealia Banks is Hip Hop's new bad girl! She  has calmed down a bit  perhaps in preparation for her Interscope Records debut Broke With Expensive Taste due in February.

Azealia Banks has reportedly worked with Kanye West and Lady GaGa for her debut album. Production is likely to come from Diplo(Produced Usher's Climax).

Ashanti - Braveheart
Ashanti's Braveheart has been in the works for for well over a year. In fact the first single; The Woman You Love featuring Busta Rhymes was released nearly a year ago in December 2011. The song only managed to peak at #59 on the R&B/Hip Hop Songs chart. The album would face a number of pushbacks before settling for a January 2013 release date.

In October Ashanti digitally released the R. Kelly assisted single That's What We Do which made a slight dent on the R&B iTunes charts.

Braveheart is likely to feature production and guest appearances from T.I., L.T. Hutton(produced The Way That I Love You), Rico Love(produced for Brandy), and more.

50 Cent - Street King Immortal
Street King Immortal doesn't exactly sound like an album title but I've come across stranger album titles. Haven't we all? Anyway the title sounds more like a title for a video game or even a mixtape. We were supposed to get Street King Immortal this month(November) but the album has been pushed back due to this album being 50's last on Interscope. So currently he and Interscope are working out the kinks or "audit negoitations" as 50 has explained in a recent interview.

Street King Immortal has spawned the single New Day featuring Alicia Keys & Dr. Dre and the newest single First Date featuring Too $hort.

LL Cool J - Authentic Hip Hop
Move over Jay-Z and Snoop Dogg (Lion)! LL Cool J wears the crown for oldest rapper in the game though Too $hort or E-40 may have him beat. Who knows? Anyway LL Cool J is obviously not content with just being on a hit TV show he wants to return to Rap!. Check out the video below durin g a recent interview on The Craig Ferguson Show:

LL recently released the song Take It featuring Joe which will likely be included on Authentic Hip Hop.

So there you have it those are just a few of the new releases to look forward to next year. Plus there are many more where those came from. Please note that release dates are subject to change so don't get excited too yet about any of the aforementioned releases.
