Monica Speaks On Brandy Feud
Twitter is a gift for many music stars, giving them a chance to easily connect with fans in real time. But there's a downside, too, with Monica addressing in a tweet on Wednesday. In her message, she writes that she's "disappointed" with users accusing her of disliking Brandy.http://abcnewsradioonline.com/music-news/2012/10/11/monica-brandy-call-on-fans-to-stop-squabbling.html#ixzz29Ii4QGPD
"Just logging on & I'm so disappointed with the foolery. It's a KNOWN fact that I support @4everBrandy & I'm beyond happy that she is making... [t]he amazing music God put her here to make," Monica writes.
The two have acknowledged falling out back in 1998, around the time their hit "The Boy Is Mine" was released. But since then, the singers have grown up, and mended fences, even reuniting earlier this year for their song "It All Belongs to Me."
Still, some people are convinced that Monica still holds a grudge against Bran, and vice versa. But that's simply not true writes Monica, who tweeted, "@4everBrandy deserves 2shine & these old comparisons & beefs of the 90s are childish distraction." The two had even considered touring together several months ago, but that never panned out.
Still, Monica says that she uplifts Brandy and all women who are "doing their thing." She says that the "silliness of the past" is dead, and told Twitter users to stop perpetuating the negative energy.
Monica is calling for her fans, the Doves, and Brandy's fans, the Starz, to unite in support of Brandy's upcoming album, Two Eleven. Brandy spread a similar message to her supporters, tweeting, "I've repeatedly said this to all of you, there's no need to put another artist down no matter if their fans are doing that to me!"
Brandy's oft-delayed disc, Two Eleven, arrives in stores on Tuesday.
