The 2012 Grammy Nominees - R&B/Hip Hop Edition

Last night the 2012 Grammy nominees were revealed and there were a lot of surprises as always. Kanye West leads the nominations this year with seven awards. Nicki Minaj, Drake, Cee-Lo, and Rihanna collect four nominations. Since this is a R&B/Hip Hop themed blog; I will concentrated on the nominees in those field. Nominees for various awards include Marsha Ambrosius, Lil' Wayne, Chris Brown, Ledisi, and many more. Remember that the Grammy telecast will air on February 12. Here are some of the nominees below! Highlighted below is who I think will win. Check it out!

Best R&B Performance - Marsha Ambrosius; Far Away, Ledisi; Pieces Of Me, Kelly Price & Stokely; Not My Daddy, Is This Love; Corrine Bailey Rae, Charlie Wilson; You Are

I'm pretty impressed with the nominees this year and I would say Marsha Ambrosius has a sure shot of winning as does Kelly Price. Both records were really big on Urban radio this year.

Best R&B Song - Marsha Ambrosius; Far Away, Cee-Lo & Melanie Fiona; Fool For You, Kelly Price & Stokely; Not My Daddy, Ledisi; Pieces Of Me, Charlie Wilson; You Are

Personally I think Marsha Ambrosius will nab this award too but a close second would be Cee-Lo's "Fool For You" which is one of my favorite songs this year.

Best R&B Album - Chris Brown; F.A.M.E., El DeBarge; Second Chance, R. Kelly; Love Letter, Kelly Price; Kelly, Ledisi; Pieces Of Me

I personally didn't care for any of the albums listed above but I think its really anybody's win here but Chris Brown or R. Kelly might pick it up just because.

Best Rap Performance - Chris Brown/Lil' Wayne/Busta Rhymes; Look At Me Now, Jay-Z/Kanye West; Otis, Lupe Fiasco; The Show Goes On, Nicki Minaj/Drake; Moment 4 Life, Wiz Khalifa; Black & Yellow

Grammy has a lot of favorites who they tend to nominate and award Grammy's too such as Jay-Z and Kanye West but Chris Brown and co. may have a shot at this award as well.

Best Rap Sung Collaboration - Beyonce/Andre 3000; Party, Kelly Rowland/Lil' Wayne; Motivation, Rihanna/Drake; What's My Name, DJ Khaled/Drake/Lil' Wayne; I'm On One, Kanye West/Rihanna/Kid Cudi/Fergie; All Of The Lights

I would say Kelly Rowland has a big shot at this award.
