Game Under Fire For Giving Out Sheriff's Number

All this is...is just more publicity for Game as he prepares to release his new album; "The R.E.D. Album" in stores and online August 23.

The Los Angeles Sheriff's Department opened a criminal investigation on Friday (August 13) after Game sent a tweet with the phone number for the sheriff's Compton station.

According to latimes.com, authorities say the action prompted hundreds of calls that overwhelmed the emergency phone system, delaying emergency response services.

"This was beyond irresponsible," said Capt. Mike Parker. "The deputies' ability to answer the phones and dispatch personnel to help these people in danger was significantly impeded."

Game tweeted fans at about 5:00 PM that they should call another Twitter user "for internship....... Lol he answering all bws phones today."

The tweet began a back-and-forth, during which Game tweeted the Sheriff's Station number.

"Each phone call made does open the possibility for an additional charge," said Parker.

Game has since asserted his innocence on Twitter:
