Retiring From The Music Industry

These artists below have said they are "retiring" from the music industry. Some have and some have not. Check out the artists below:

Toni Braxton
Toni Braxton recently appeared on the "Lopez Tonight" show to promote her reality TV show; "Braxton Family Values" which was a big hit on the WE network. She also revealed that she had plans to retire from music.

Pebbles

After her legal squabble with TLC(who she once managed) and her deteriorating marriage to L.A. Reid; Peri "Pebbles" Reid retired from the music industry for good. She did speak candidly about it briefly on TLC's "Behind The Music" special on VH1 some years back.

Vanity
Part of the group Vanity 6 and one of Prince's many disciples; Vanity finally did away with the nasty songs and turned into an ordain minister.

Waka Flocka Flame
Waka inspired this post tonight. He wants to retire from RAP due to some not so subtle hints at some controversy in his career. While he didn't lament much on his decision; he claimed to be very sure about it. We will see!

Jay-Z
A few years back Jay-Z proclaimed that he would retire after one of his albums. My memory has suddenly been clouded. Of course this proved not to be true as subsequent albums followed. The rapper is still active today and he plans to release a duet album with Kanye West; "Watch The Throne" which is due in stores and online this August.

Foxy Brown
Like her former buddy Jay-Z(not sure of their relationship these days); Foxy has stated that once "Black Roses" finally drops it will be her last album. Maybe that's one of the many things holding up the release date. Foxy knows she will not retire after this album if and when its released. I don't believe it.

The-Dream

After his last album failed to live up to expectations; The-Dream suddenly wanted to retire. Obviously he had a change of heart when he revealed that he was working on a new album.
