Remakes & Sequels

I was just reading about the remake of the 1991 movie; "Juice" being remade with Soulja Boy; you can read more about that below. But "Juice" isn't the only film being remade or revived. Quite a few movies not even listed here are in the works and coming soon to a theater near you. I don't talk about movies here but these movies of course all star or will star music artists. Some of them should just be left alone in my opinion and probably yours as well. You can't tell those Hollywood execs anything though.

Check out some of the movies that are being remade, revived, and getting sequels below!

Sparkle

The 1970's classic movie starring sisters who make it big in music has been screaming for a remake as early as the early 2000s. Basically every young black actress has seen their name attached. Over the years Ashanti, Beyonce, and Gabrielle Union have been the names we've heard.

I mean the idea of a remake sounds nice and all but I think they should leave it alone. The movie; released in 1976 is widely considered a classic. It's not my favorite movie but a lot of people do like it. Every once in awhile the movie airs on cable network; TvOne.

Waiting To Exhale
Since author Terry McMillian has penned to the sequel to "Waiting" in the book "Getting To Happy" which jumps years after the first book; plans for a Hollywood adaption have been in the works. I heard so far that Angela Bassett and Loretta Devine have signed on.

I just feel a sequel is not complete without Whitney and if she's not apart of it; they might as well forget it. I don't think Whitney is doing much these days but relaxing so this could be just what she need to get back out there again and follow it up with the new album she is supposedly working on.

Juice
Another classic black movie starring 2Pac is being remade this month starring Soulja Boy and Cam'ron and people aren't too happy but what can do you do.

Fast & Furious

Believe it or not but I've never seen any of the movie from "The Fast & The Furious" franchise. Over the years though artists like Tyrese, Bow Wow, and Ludacris have starred in various sequels. The newest installment will race into theaters next month.
