Joint Collaboration Albums

At the height of many musician's career; they develop a huge ego where they feel invincible and on top of the world. With that comes many projects including multiple albums, TV appearances, and then there are the dreaded joint collaboration albums. Those joint collaboration albums are usually with someone who is also experiencing a wavelength in career heights. Take Lil' Wayne for example who you read about below has three joint collaboration albums in the works. Let's see how many of those will actually see the light of day. There are the joint collaboration albums that have happened and failed by industry standards but you can't please everybody.

Check out this list of joint collaboration albums that are in the works, those that never came to friction, and those that have occurred in the past!

Jay-Z & R. Kelly - Best Of Both Worlds
The biggest names in Hip Hop and R&B came together for not one but two albums; "Unfinished Business" was released years later to little fanfare. During this tenure the child molestation charges against R. Kelly hit and caused Jay-Z to slide away from the negative press. It not only played a damper in their partnership/friendship but response to the second album; "Unfinished Business". Nowadays the two remain at odds as far as I know but they made some decent music together I feel. Most of it was pretty forgettable in my opinion though.

Lil' Wayne & Drake - Untitled

Both rappers are at the height of their perspective careers; in my opinion so a collaboration album is in the works but not before Wayne releases his "The Carter IV" album and two other collaboration albums(read below). I mean there is a possibility that this will occur because it will be guaranteed to sell.

Lil' Wayne & Birdman - Untitled

The father and son of Hip Hop are in talks to pair for a collaboration album in the near time future. The odds of this happening is pretty high. You can count on Wayne to carry the album with his star power and charisma.

Lil' Wayne & T-Pain - T-Wayne
This collaboration album has been in the works for a minute and T-Pain is still somewhat relevant and if it is released; it will benefit from again the star power and charisma of Wayne but also the hit making abilities of T-Pain.

Deborah Cox, Tamia, Kelly Price - The Queen Project

The three singers spoke of a collaborative album that would display their "sangin" ability. The project has since fallen on deaf ears since each singer has moved on two their perspective solo projects.

I was never all that excited about this. I like two of the singers here and I think everyone's voices is so different; it would surely be all over the place to me.

Ludacris & Shawnna - Battle Of The Sexes
This was to be the first collaborative album between a female and male rapper but it didn't quite happen the way it was envisioned. Somewhere along the road; Shawnna must of had some type of falling out with parent label Def Jam(which was distributing the album) and Ludacris. So Ludacris rocked the release of this album out dolo and took it to Gold status last year with the help of a bevy female rappers including Trina, Lil' Kim, and Eve.

Kenny Lattimore & Chante Moore

I had a temporary brain freeze but the husband and wife team joined together for not one but two albums and I can't think of the name of either one right now. One album featured a variety of remakes I remember though. Both albums was released on the Arista label.
