Beanie Sigel Sounds Off On Damon Dash!
Earlier this week Philly rapper Beanie Sigel and radio personality Star put their personal differences aside to talk music, Kanye West, Damon Dash, and more on the Star & Bucwild Show on Philadelphia’s Power 100.3.Chrisette Michele, Def Jam Sued!
Shortly after Star mentioned Beanie’s loyalty to Damon Dash the rapper revealed that he has no loyalty to Dash and that he’s owed millions of dollars by him.
“I ain’t loyal to Dame. Dame owe me some money,” Beanie explained. “My own lawyer found about 11-million that Dame stole from me…He filing bankruptcy. I’ll spend a million dollars just to say a person owe me? I have a piece of paper that say he owe me some money. Who wants to go through that?”
Beanie also referred to Dash’s support during his legal problems as a “façade” and nothing more than “smoke and mirrors.”
Beanie didn’t have too much to say when asked about fellow rapper Kanye West, but had plenty to say about ex drug dealer Tommy Hill.
“It’s a known fact that he’s a rat. We was in the same jail, Fairton,” said Beanie when asked about Hill. “I was in the hole and he was on the other side in protective custody. He’s a rat.”
A lawsuit against Def Jam involving R&B singer Chrisette Michele has been cleared to move forward through the New York judicial system. Judges for the New York Supreme Court rejected the label's request to dismiss the lawsuit.----------------
Douglas "Biggs" Ellison filed a lawsuit against Island Def Jam Music Group, Shalik Berry (A&R) and Michele's parents Lynette and Lemuel Payne in June of 2008, alleging that all parties mentioned engaged in unlawful business practices in an attempt to free Michele of her exclusive contracts with his Queens-based production company, Four Kings Productions Inc. Michele herself initiated the litigation three years ago when she filed a lawsuit against Four Kings, claiming Ellison, the CEO, embezzled money from her Def Jam contract and harassed her.
"As soon as the artist’s mother saw that Chrisette was receiving money, all a direct result of the efforts of the production company under its contracts with the artist, Lynette Payne quit her job as a teacher and, in willful disregard of the artist’s contractual obligations to Four Kings, usurped management functions regarding her daughter’s newly found success, in an effort to keep the money in the family," Ellison claims in the lawsuit.
Ellison and Michele's business relationship was also romantic. Ellison is seeking $20 million in damages.
