Lloyd - Lay It Down - Video

"Lay It Down" is one of my favorite songs out right now and it was produced by Polow Da Don. The song samples Patti LaBelle's "If You Only Knew". Lloyd's album "King Of Hearts" will be out soon. I'm not sure of a release date just yet.

Donell Jones Speaks On New Album!

R&B crooner Donell Jones, who is currently on a promotional tour supporting his recent release ‘Lyrics,’ is excited to be holding his own with a new generation of music lovers who appreciate real music.

'Lyrics' peaked at number #28 on Billboard’s Top 200 album chart and "Love Like This" is currently #5 with a bullet on the Urban AC Radio charts. Despite a 3 year absence from recording, Jones is right back where he wants to be, on the airwaves sharing his music with his fans.

“There are a few artists out there I really like that are doing their thing,” Jones states in a release to Singersroom. “To me, there’s too many people trying to be R&B thugs. It’s almost like the R&B game has become almost like the new R&B/rap game. There’s no more love in the music."

Donell Jones has always given fans sensual ballads. After a tumultuous split with his label in the late 90’s, Jones took some time away from the spotlight to focus on his life and his music. The result of his sabbatical was the restructuring of his team. Jones signed with a new manager, Ruben Rodriguez of RAM Talent Group and launched Candyman Music, his own label imprint thru eOne distribution.

His first release late last year “The Lost Files” was a compilation of unreleased songs that he had recorded since the beginning of his career. “Lyrics” is his first showing on the charts since the 1999 “U Know What’s Up” and “Where I Wanna Be.”
Faith Evans Celebrates New Album Release!
Grammy Award-winning singer Faith Evans has returned to music with her sixth studio album, ‘Something About Faith.’ After taking a five-year hiatus from music, the R&B singer is grateful to still be able to make music that her fans want to listen to.

“This marks my 15-year anniversary as an artist and I’m honored to know that there’s still appreciation and love for what it is that I contribute to music. My faithful fans patiently waited five years for more material, and the reception has been nothing short of wonderful,” said Evans.

'Something About Faith' is the songstress' first album released independently and was led by the first single "Gone Already" which is in Top 40 on Billboard’s Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs, and has seen an increase in airplay and sales for the 9th consecutive week.

The 20-track album is feature heavy with appearances by Snoop Dogg, Estelle, Raekwon, Keyshia Cole, Kelly Price, Redman, Jessica Reedy, and Lil Mo. Evans’ versatility is shown as songs take listeners from the sanctuary to the streets. There is production from Chucky Thompson, Salaam Remi, Carvin & Ivan and others.

The album debuted last week at #1 on Billboard’s Independent Album Chart.

“I acquired my own imprint Prolific Music Group through eOne Music. So for my first album as an independent artist to debut like this, it is truly a blessing.”

Evans is continuing to stay busy and will be appearing on upcoming projects from Keyshia Cole, Eric Benet, Shareefa, and El DeBarge, whose video “Lay With You” she’ll be starring in. She will also be appearing on “The Mo’Nique Show” next week.

Right now the singer is on a radio promo tour through December, and will then begin her theater tour. In January 2011, she will begin shooting the biopic about The Supremes’ Florence Ballard, playing the lead role. Also, Evans is continuing to shoot her reality show pilot with celebrity stylist Misa Hylton Brim, called “The First Ladies.”

Evans will also perform at the upcoming second annual Soul Train Awards, held November 10, at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Center in Atlanta, GA, and will premiere on both CENTRIC and BET networks on November 28.
