Album Spotlight: 50 Cent - Get Rich Or Die Trying

There was no star bigger in 2003 than 50 Cent; well unless you count Beyonce but that's not what this is about. 50 Cent was clearly the break out star of 2003. His debut album; 'Get Rich Or Die Trying' is certified 8x platinum here in the US. The album spawned many hit singles including 'In Da Club'. The song would prove to be a popular anthem particularly at birthday celebrations with the popular line "go shawty its your birthday!".

There was a very huge buzz surrounding this album and with good reason and me being the person I am; I didn't buy into the hype right away. Though I didn't know anyone who didn't have this album at the time of its release. My nephew was playing this album everyday and before you know it; he had it memorized.

The video for second single; '21 Questions' featured 50 Cent kissing Meagan Goode and next thing you know people thought they were dating. Other videos released included 'P.I.M.P.' and 'Many Men'; which is one of my personal favorites from the album.

50 Cent's 'Get Rich Or Die Trying' goes down as a rap classic and will go down in history as one of raps most successful albums. So if its been awhile since you listened to this album; do yourself a favor and pop it in and relive those memories of when you first heard 'Get Rich Or Die Trying'!
