2009 Recap: The Most Notorious & Juiciest Feuds!
2009 was definitely an interesting year for feuds to say the least. Looking at the list I compiled its ironic how some of these artists were involved in more than a few feuds this year. Is it safe to say they are to blame for a lot of the feuds? Were they just speaking their minds? Trying to jump start an album? Who knows? Some of 2009's most notorious and juiciest feuds are recalled here. Enjoy!
P.S. Let me also be the first to say that I'm not completely knowledgeable of the feuds origins. I'm only reporting what I know. If I have failed to mention something you know or misreported something, I apologize in advance.
Rihanna vs. Tiffany Evans & Tila Tequila
Rihanna's 'Russian Roulette' song ruffled a lot of feathers and one person was singer Tiffany Evans[of 'Promise Ring' fame]. Her beef wasn't directly with Rihanna(at the time) but more so with the song and its message. Somewhere down the road Rihanna started promoting new album, 'Rated R' and spoke out against Evans and MTV reality star, Tila Tequila. All this back and forth played out not only in the media but on twitter. Messy indeed!
Rihanna vs. Chris Brown
The details of Chris Brown assaulting Rihanna played out during the course of the year. It wasn't until the end of the year that things really started to heat up. With both singers releasing albums within weeks of each other, it was not only time to promote albums but talk about the events that led to the February 2009 assault.
While on ABC's '20/20' Rihanna spoke for the first time candidly about those events that took place that night in February. From there on it was each singer's camp against one another trading barbs on....you guessed it; twitter.
Trey Songz vs. Sandra Rose
Blogger Sandra Rose has developed a nasty reputation over the years for not only criticizing celebrities but also disguising herself as them(Mo'Nique's twitter page). Trey Songz was the roast of an ugly post made by Rose when she insinuated that Trey was gay.
Trey Songz vs. R. Kelly
Trey Songzs' 'Ready' album has been his most successful thus far and one of those reasons can be attributed to the number of feuds he has had this year. Speaking out against R. Kelly and his use of auto tune, Kells took offense and lamented via the web.
Beanie Sigel vs. Jay-Z
Beanie Sigel was just the latest associate to fall out with Jay-Z and over the years many have fallen out with him. Beanie felt like his career hadn't taken off and blamed Jay-Z. In a shocking move, Beanie signed to G-Unit.
Jay-Z vs. 50 Cent
50 Cent may not have a real beef with Jay-Z but part of 50's gimmick is that he often belittles other artists i.e. Fat Joe. Calling Jay-Z a 'punk' may of simply been a move to spark some interest in his album, 'Before I Self Destruct'.
T-Pain vs. Jay-Z
T-Pain was upset with Jay-Z over the song 'D.O.A.(Death Of Auto Tune)' which was actually an idea of Kanye Wests'. Not only did Jay-Z denounce the use of auto tune but also its part in deteriorating music.
Keri Hilson vs. Beyonce & Ciara
An accidental leak of the 'Turnin Me On Remix' featured Hilson allegedly going at Beyonce and Ciara and ruffled the feathers of many of their perspective fans. The response gave Keri Hilson a not so welcoming reputation and it found Keri apologizing and doing some damage control of her own.
