2009 Recap: Albums You Should Check Out!

Depending on your taste in music and preferably R&B, these albums are not to be ignored. They weren't exactly my favorites but they came pretty darn close. And for that they get a honorable mention.

Starting with Bobby Valentino, find out what other albums I personally liked and which ones are really worth checking out! Enjoy!

The Rebirth, Bobby Valentino
This album is not bad by any means. I mean Bobby isn't my favorite when it comes to male singers but he did a good job on this album. He did show that he is still capable of coming back even after splitting with DTP hence the title, 'Rebirth'. Some of my favorite songs include 'Another Life' and 'Hands On Me'.

A Man's Thoughts, Ginuwine
I'm seeing that I liked a lot more albums from males this year. One, because a lot of males released albums this year and they just happened to do a good job with these albums. Like Bobby, Ginuwine returned after being gone for awhile. He hit us with the hit single, 'Last Chance' but one of my favorites was 'Trouble' which was his second single but went nowhere. I think since Ginuwine is a little older now uptempos may not be his thing to release single wise. It seems like people are more fond of his ballads anyway.

The Introduction of Marcus Cooper, Pleasure P
Yet another entry from a male artist. I was never into Pretty Ricky let alone Pleasure P. One of my best friends though would always play Pretty Ricky in her car. Of course me being with her all the time I would start to like some of the songs and who couldn't help but like 'Boyfriend #2' when that was released. On his album I really liked the song 'Illusion' which was one of my favorite songs of the year.

Epiphany, Chrisette Michele
I remember when Chrisette Michele first came out, and I wasn't a fan. A friend of mine mentioned her debut album to me but I couldn't get into her. Well with her second album, 'Epiphany' Chrisette won me over with the title track, 'Blame It On Me', 'Notebook', and many other songs.

I Look To You, Whitney Houston
There was a huge buzz for Whitney's new record and I felt like she delivered. It wasn't really anything that I disliked about the album. I did however spoil myself with the early leaks so by the time the album was released I was pretty much over it. That's why I kind of made the decision to not download so many leaked tracks especially when they end up on the final album. What happens for me is that I get tired of that said album really quickly. Though we don't always know what will make the final album, you can bet on it that most of the leaked tracks will!
